The title says it all! 3nodding

You take a picture of your altar, upload it to the internet, and share it with us! If you are unable to take a picture and post it, that's okay, you can just describe your altar to us!

The Rules
- You can only discuss altars and what goes on them
- You have to tell us why your altar is special to you
- Be nice, don't diss someone else's altar
- Have fun!

My altar is special to me because, for the longest time, I didn't have one. And now, I have a place where I can go to pray and do my spellwork, etc. It's nice to have that center. 3nodding

It looks nice Choir-Angel! biggrin I'm so jealous....my altar is a mobile altar. I have to move it around and put the bits away when I'm done to hide them coz my family is christian and we have a lot of christian friends who come round and if they saw any of my stuff they'd have a fit. I really want to take a picture of it when it's set up but the digital camera won't connect to the computer scream

Very nice choirangel! I like how you have it out, and a place to go too but it doesn't take up all that much room. You've given me good ideas for when I put mine together. Now do you have a caldron or anything like that? And I was curious as to where you got that shelf? (A National Chain? Made yourself?)

I don't have an altar yet, just a few pieces so far. It'll probably take me a long time to do; since I want to make sure each piece feels "right" and isn't commercially made etc.

my camera is currently out on loan right now, but this is an old picture of my first alter. It's nothing special visually, but I just loved it.

And here is a picture of my besom (technically part of the alter, but not seen in the pic)

And a close up of the weaving on the on it's base (is that what it is called? confused )

@ Choir-Angel: I love your alter! It must be so handy to have all your stuff right in the little cubbies and still have the space on top to set it up.

I currently only have inscence and an Anthame... XD So, it's not much of an alter.

At the moment, my altar is a portable altar...of sorts. sweatdrop
It's kind of spread across my room, and I just set it up when I need it.
Resting on top of my bookshelves I have a little set of shelves, which hold several statues (one of Bast, two bird wistles, and a Matroshka doll [not exactly a statue....], which I use to represent the God and/or Goddess pretty much interchanghably depending on my ritual), and my 'ritual jewelery' (a bracelet which a friend brought back from Egypt).
On my dresser, I have my crystals, and various things I've made of clay - a pentacle, an offering bowl and plate, a candleholder which I can't fit any of my candles into (I need smaller candles sweatdrop ), and an athame/incense burner. I've also got my wand there.
I still need to get a few things - a chalice, some more candelholders and candels that fit them, some incense to put in my burner, a nice thick notebook or binder for a BOS, MOAR STATUES (I love statues, did you guess? <3), and oh yes, how could I forget, somewhere to actually PUT my altar. x___X

My altar, such as it is, is special to me because...uh...it's a place to put all my occult junk. XD Ok, ok, that wasn't my real answer. It's special because, well, it's sort of a grounding point for me. When I go to my room, and I see my altar - however spread out it may be - I know where I am, and that I haven't drifted off to some other world...or universe...or set of universes.... sweatdrop Does that make sense?

Thanks everyone! 4laugh

@Kareena: My friend gave the shelf to me, before that, it was all shoved onto a nightstand of sorts. This is definitely a lot more organized and handy. 3nodding Which works because i'm highly OCD about organization. xd

And I don't have a cauldron as of yet. I should be buying one soon though. There's a New Age shop that recently opened down the road a few months ago. Yea, they have some, but I need to get up the money for one. Next things to buy: Cauldron and Mortar and Pestle. xd I can't wait. biggrin

But I know what you mean about the whole "feeling right" thing. The bell on my altar, I got it at the New Age store, one of a kind. Most of their stuff is from different people, things that have been brought in, etc. And I saw it and fell in love. lol. It's silver, and very tarnished, which added to the appeal. 3nodding Tis lovely. heart

I too like your altar Choir. It is very organized.

Mine is just the top of my dresser so I have to put some of it away cause I have the only light in my room on top of it. I have a ceramic lizard that I painted about 4 years ago on it, incense, candles and wolves. I'll be adding more when I feel it should go somewhere. If I can find the cable for my camera I'll post a pic.

Mines special to me because with many of the personal things (lizard and wolves) on it. I feel comfortable with it because I put some soul into many of the items.
