An Open Call For Activity Hosts!
Recently, a live event was held as an opportunity for members of the 21+ Guild and their friends to meet and greet in real time here on Gaia. Unfortunately, not everyone could make it because of time differences and individual obligations.
So far, the idea of real-time-meets seems to be a good one: However, the time differences are proving to be too much of a barrier.
This is where you come in !
If you think you can devote about two hours or more once a week to hosting guild meets, we're looking for you! domokun
There aren't any hard and fast requirements, but this seems like a good set of things to keep in mind if you're interested:
-Choose-Your-Own-Adventure! If you can specify a specific meeting/activity place (Rally, Puzzles, Fishing, House, etc.) and time, then you're golden. Choose what seems fun to you and what you think would be entertaining for others. Keep in mind what different activities may entail when you come up with something (Cinema might be difficult to coordinate without first meeting somewhere else. Games might be good only if you're expecting a small amount of people, etc.).
-Chat! Are you OK with saying hi to people who arrive? Like to chat? Do you like people at all? If you do, then great! Be prepared to meet not only guild members, but also random people. Part of the purpose of meetings is exposure.
-Hang Out! Not everyone can make it exactly at the time you specify. That's why it's good to leave an open window of time to arrive that's at least an hour long. I personally like two hours as a time limit, because you never know what could happen, and it's not too huge of a time buster if you hang around Gaia as a habit. You can stay longer than the time window you specify if you like what's going on-- No one is going to ask you to mess up your IRL schedule, though. Make sure you plan for what you can do!
-Plan in advance! Make a post about the meeting about a week in advance so everyone has time to stop by and see it. Then, when your scheduled time and activity rolls around, be there! 3nodding If there's a change in your schedule and you have to change the activity time or place, please remember to update your post with the information.

If you feel like you're up for it, then get posting! blaugh You can also link back here with your new thread in a reply. This way everyone can know who's available to host events.
If we find enough hosts, we can involve many more guild members in live activities.
If you need an example of an invitation post, here's one that I'm currently working with:

It might save space to have each host run a thread and change it weekly instead of starting new ones every time. (This is just an idea) That way, folks can bookmark threads that advertise events they can definitely get to, and check them periodically.
Thanks for reading!
