Battlefield...
The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land.
(Psh, being lazy here)

"Albireo, come on out!" Luna shouted, kicking off one of her pokeballs from her leg. The ball automatically and Albireo came out. Those ball escaping lessons paid off!
Albireo rolled around in the grass, wondering who his opponent would be.

"Aaaaaaand, PIDGEOTTO!" Luna shouted, hoping Pidgeotto would actually burst out of his pokeball like he was suppose to. Unfortunately, that did not happen. She sighed and manually released the bird pokemon who then took off into the air.
Both pokemon looked confused.
"You're going to battle each other!" Luna said cheerfully.
Pidgeotto did somewhat of a bird snort. He was really starting to hate battling. He was too good for it. Why couldn't he be a pokemon for a coordinator?

"Okay, let's start off with an aurora beam Albireo!" Luna shouted to her pokemon.
Albireo was a bit confused of why he was attacking his own team mate, but obliged. He charged up a half effortted aurora beam into the sky at Pidgeotto.

Flashbacks from his last battle came to him as Pidgeotto froze up upon the sight of the attack. You can say he "yarped" by bird terms. The attack hit directly to one of his wings, sending him to the ground.
"Common Pidgeotto, more enthusiasm! You'll never win with that spirit! Try a gust!"
Pidgeotto weakly flapped one of it's wings towards Albireo.

"Breakthrough! Don't go easy on Pidgeotto!" Luna shouted to Albireo.
Albireo barked and jumped right through the gust attack, getting a few scars on his fur, and prepared to headbutt Pidgeotto.

Pidgeotto gwacked as the horn hit his injured talon.
"Common Pidgeotto! Only way out of this is retaliation! Peck!"
Pidgeotto, desperate, pecked randomly in the air, attempting to hit Albireo's face.

Albireo yelped as the beak connected with his face.
"We won't let Pidgeotto get away with that, will we Albireo? Another Aurora Beam!"
Albireo barked, with one of his eyes half closed. The attack had almost hit his blue eye. He launched another Aurora beam at Pidgeotto.

Pidgeotto's eyes widened, recalling his latest match. The attack hit him again the chest. Even after the attack, Pidgeotto was slow to respond due to a flood of memories.
"Staring won't help! You have to get through this! Twister!"
Pidgeotto shaked his head in an attempt to clear it. Then, he flew into the air again, spinning around in circles to create a large twister headed for Albireo while tearing everything in its path. Pidgeotto, still in the air, continued to be only half aware of his surroundings, having recollections of his last match again.
'Come on Pidgeotto...you have to get over your loses and grow!' Luna thought to herself.

Albireo stared at the large twister. Memories also flashed into Albireo's head. Winds. Dark clouds. A large twister. Large tsunami. All alone in the sea...
"DODGE ALBIREO!" Luna shouted, snapping Albireo out of his thoughts.But it was too late, the twister lifted Albireo into the air.
"Geez...stop angsting about the past you two! Focus on the future! Albireo, get out of there with an aqua jet!"
Albireo winced as the air cut his fur and skin. He let out jets of water randomly from inside the twister, knocking him various places inside of it and finally back into the ground. The attack also served a dish of random water jets all around the field, and one even heading to Pidgeotto.

Pidgeotto was knocked back by the water. He managed to stay in the air, but was on a lower elevation now.
"Pidgeotto, no more freezeups now? Good! Let's give Albireo another twister!"
Pidgeotto complied, whipping up another twister in the air. It was smaller than the last, but a twister nonetheless.

Albireo stared at the twister again, but remembered from last time it would do no good remembering. He attempted to jump out of the way, but the slight moment's pause at the sight of it gave the twister another chance to lift him up into the air.
"Albireo, just like last time!" Luna shouted.
Albireo immediately shot random jets of water in hopes of knocking himself out of the twister. He succeeded, this time landing himself in a soft patch of grass.

Pidgeotto wasn't surprised when random jets of water appeared from the twister again. He tried to predict if one would come to him, but it was difficult. They were all coming at high speeds and in no particular pattern. So, it wasn't suprising either when Pidgeotto got nailed by another one of them.
"Ouch. That's a pretty good move." Luna thought to herself. "Okay Pidgeotto, let's try to finish this. Twister once more!"
Pidgeotto looked annoyed. Why couldn't they do a safer move? Twister always ended up with Albireo shooting water at him. But he complied, whipping up another small twister at Albireo.
