Need to have opinions on this comic.
I personally think it's a piece of s**t. Opinions, people?

You already know mine, but I'm in the mood to go read some more and think up something witty.

I never had any desire to read it because one of my friends told me it was horrible and the art work looks incredibly generic.

Edit: Ok, I just read some of it. I just didn't think it was funny but I remembered that it is what made l33t cool which is a sin deceserving it to be thrown into the innermost circle of hell. mad

Yeah I read a whole bunch of it because I couldn't figure out when it went from a shitty Amerotaku wet dream to some wannabe cyberpunk soap opera. I still can't and Fred is still a shitty artist. Learn to color you dumb ********, and learn how to draw a face.

He nessessarly need color but the least he could do is learn to do screen tone. Especially since that is what 99% of Japanese comics use and he is calling it "manga."
I looked at some from the middle to see what you ment by wannabe "cyberpunk soap opera." Are they still in Japan? There are windmills and people have wepons out in the open. Even though I never found it funny, I can tell four in five pages aren't even supposed to be.

I think I might have maybe figured some of it out. Based on Piro talking to Tsubasu or whatever it was, it seems that Piro and Largo are still in Japan and Largo seems to gone all serious or some s**t and he has a great soap opera moment with some chick that apparently has kids wanting her autograph. Very "Notting Hill". Anyway those two guys carrying weapons are the game developers that got introduced way at the beginning as rivals and it seems to be some kind of running joke that the video game industry works more like MI6 than anything else, which is just masturbatory bullshit. I think it's meant to be some kind of absurdist comedy gone horribly wrong, you know like putting cyberpunk/espionage cliches into the video game industry.

As for the real wannabe cyberpunk crap, that seems like it was some kind of interlude that just wrapped up, not connected to the main plot. It seems to have been called "Circuity" and forces even more awful cliches on us. "I would push the wind back for you." How many variations of that have you seen in a manga or anime?

Fred or Piro or whatever you want to call him is just leeching off the popularity of manga style by doing a half assed attempt at it. If he's going for a Japanese style he's failing miserably because the kind of lines he's using are clearly western and clash horrifically with what he's trying to do. Early on in the series he shows a "rough" and a "cleaned up" version of the comic and you really have to squint to be able to tell the difference. If that's what he thinks cleaned up is, he hasn't finished a drawing in his life. If he was working at Marvel and submitted that tripe as pencils ready to be inked, they'd throw him out an open window. The problem with using screen tone is that he would actually have to legitimately clean up his pencils to the point where they could be called lineart before applying the tone, and of course he would have to actually go to all the work of applying the tone unless he did it digitally. The only redeeming quality in his art is that he's competant at machinery and other inanimate objects, which sadly are very much overshadowed by his utter incompetancy at drawing a human being.

I have no ******** clue why I read enough of it to actually understand what was going on. I went and had a shower when I was done. Literally.

I haven't read it yet, but I have been told it is full of 1337; and that's one of the reasons why I don't read it just because I don't read or understand 1337.

I'm not planning on reading it anyways.
