I was just wondering, since I
couldn't find a thread to put
this, if anyone was in a USSBA
band. My band is in group four
open, and we're going to Central
Jersey Regionals next week in
Trenton. From then on for the
next weekends, we're going to
NJ State in Sewell, Northern
States Championships in Giants
Stadium, and National Championships
in Baltimore Raven's Stadium.
So, I'm just wondering...
What circuit is your band in?
Are you going to any of these competitions?

yeah, our band is in it this year (for the first time i think??) and like, we've already done Pre-lims in Kyle, TX so now we're heading to State at Rice Stadium, Pearland TX so yeah. We compete in group 5 open.

well, we're hosting it, so we're competing in it this year for the first time. (and btw, it isn't Rice stadium, that's in Houston; in Pearland, we got the Rig. and that's where we're hosting it.)
and we're group 5, too. cool.

OH COOL!! Yeah it was the Rig, VERY nice stadium btw!
we got 2nd place in group 5 open. boomshakala! OMG THERE WAS THIS AMAZING BAND THERE FROM BRAZOS HS!! AHHHH!!!!!!! I WANT TO SEE THEM AGAAAAIN!

I know Brazoswood pwns... this was the third time we've seen them perform, and theyu've just kept adding more awesome stuff. But what's really shocking is that they didn't make BOA finals. 0.o
eh we got 3rd in group 5, but we're just happy we weren't last cause our performance was pretty mediocre...

I'm in a NJ band too! I wonder if I saw you at Regionals? My band (Group II Open) has been to / is going to all of the competitions that you named.

And I was JUST gonna make a USSBA thread too!
I'm from Montville (CT... not Twp, NJ; everybody always confuses us)... Group 1A.
I've just realized something: over my 4 years, I've marched in 3 different classes. Freshman year we were 2 Open, the year after we were 2A (All-States champs!!), same with last year, and this year we went down one more...

When our band director took over 7 years ago we were a USSBA band, but we dropped out because it was to easy and moved up to tournament of bands, which is harder then USSBA

AHH I wish we could move higher up in more competitions but our band is just slowly getting into this stuff. THis was our first year doing USSBA! :O!
