True dat. He's happy and an interesting character.. Not emo. It really pisses me off when people just cast that word around loosely when it makes no sense at all..

How can you be something when you don't fit the category?
That's like saying you're gay, but you're not attracted to the same sex.
What I'm saying is you don't have to look like an emo to be an emo. Sure Tidus isn't wearing all black, doesn't paint his fingernails, or listens to My Chemical Romance. But he's a freaking emo whiner big time.
And for the 2nd part, I actually know a gay guy that hangs up posters of hot chicks in his room. SO HA!
Alright, I got that part. But you didn't say that before. Here's my counterargument.
Where's the evidence that he's a big emo whiner? I mean, sure he doesn't dress or look like one, which is a given. But.. why does anyone who whines about anything get labelled emo?
I mean, give me a detailed situation about how Tidus is 'emo'. The poor guy, loses his dad (whom he hates) then, gets thrust into SIN, and is carried 1000 years into the "future," with people he doesn't know and a culture that's TOTALLY foreign to him. All to find a girl he likes, and to find out he's a dream of the Fayth. Then..has to kill his dad.
What does he do about it? He's cheerful, upbeat, and positive. He assumes the role of a leader, and does what he can.
Doesn't sound emo to me.
As for your gay friend? I didn't say gay people COULDN'T be attracted to the opposite sex. But if they ONLY like the opposite sex, they're NOT gay.
