Battleground Selection!
The screen towering above the stadiums' bleachers began to rotate clockwise to determine what field the pokemon would fight on. Anticipation began to build as the dial began to slow down...
Finally, it came to a complete stop.
The field of choice was....THE WATER FIELD!
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

Let the battle begin!
The offical for the matched stepped up the plate, her blue-black uniform easily visible under the brilliant florenscent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young woman glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The melodic voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers.
"This is an offical stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?"
At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, she flicked both flags into the air; once both flags dropped, the battle could offically begin.

Raina stepped up to the field, a smile on her face and the same air of confidence she'd had last time. She'd agreed to battle Jennette again when they felt they had improved enough and that time was now. Standing in her box on the edge of the field she grinned and called "Nice to see you again, good luck!"
The luck of the draw had been with her and Ayirwen this time and the water field had come up. Perfect for her Seel. Grasping the great ball on her belt she unclipped it and tossed it in the air. "Ayirwen, lets do this!" A gorgeous Seel appeared on the land platform nearest Raina and when it saw the field it immediately clapped it's flippers together. Ayirwen loved water.

"Same to you!" She called out as she waved her hand toward Raina. "Now Venna...this isn't going to be easy..." She whispered to her pokeball.
Throwing it out the vulpix landed on the land paltform and growled, how she hated water...

Raina watched the flags dropped and knew in this battle she would be going first. She looked at Ayirwen who was anxiously awaiting commands. "Ayirwen! Dive into the water then try a body slam!"
The female Seel slid to the edge of her platform and into the water in response to the command. She was as quick as lightning under water, making her even more dangerous to the poor vulpix stranded on the five platforms. Ayirwen circled around the platforms a few times, building up momentum before leaping out of the water towards the vulpix, fully intent on sending the poor fox flying.

Venna was trying to run in the circle, following the seel. But soon she lost sight of her and when it came flying out of the water she was hit head on and sent flying off the other side into the water.
"Venna!!" Jenette cried, watching as her vulpix doggy paddled over tot he edge and scrambled back up. Ick! Water!!! She shook off and growled. "Venna! Burn that seel with a flamethrower while it is still out of the water!!"
Venna didn't take long to send a nice hot blast out towards the seel.

Raina saw what was about to happen and tried to scream for Ayirwen to dive into the water but her vocal cords were having none of that. She choked on her words and watched as her Seel was hit by the blast and suffered a burn. "No! Ayirwen!" Raina cried, her voice working again now.
Ayirwen had her back to the vulpix and hadn't seen the attack coming. As she felt the intense heat coming toward her she tried to slip into the water but to no avail. The blast hit her full on and burned her back. She dove into the water to kill the flames but her skin was raw and it stung.
"Use Aurora Beam!" Raina's voice carried into the water and though distorted she knew Ayirwen would understand the command. She was right, as soon as she gave it she saw Ayirwen come towards the surface and aim her attack straight at the Vulpix. A powerful beam headed for the left side of the fox.
HP: 650/700 (Burn 1 of 3)

"I know you are gonna hate this... DIVE INTO THE WATER VENNA!" She screamed, knowing that the command would be hard for her to do, but she would.
Venna groaned mentally but saw the beam coming as well, turning around quickly she dove into the water, just in the nick of time!
"Venna! Use your tails as propellers as hit that seel with a quick attack!" Jenette called, hoping she could hear her.
Venna could barely make it out but she did and soon she was swiming forawrd towards the seel.

Ayirwen saw the Vulpix move and leapt out of the water to see where it was going. Off into the water? Then the Seel remembered what attacks the vulpix had and quickly leapt out of the water and onto a platform.
"Ayirwen use blizzard!" Raina called from the sidelines, she might not be able to freeze the water but that fox had to come up sometime and when it did would be the moment Ayirwen would attack.
Ayirwen nodded slightly showing she understood then waited for the right moment to attack, the moment the Vulpix came up for breath.
HP: 600/700 (2 of 3 burns)

She had missed... hadn't she!? Darn it! Jenette watched and waited, seeing the Seel pop up, that wasn't good... wait.. what was going on?
Venna couldn't hold her breath much longer and when she did she was welcomed with an icey cold shower. Brrr! Jumping up onto the platform she shook away the ice that had formed on her coat. That was definately cold. She ever blew a little fire on her coat to warm up.
"Thank goodness that was it..." Jenette breathed. "Venna, give that seel a Fire Spin!"
Venna thanked that she could warmt his bath water up! "Vullll ... PIX!" Soon the vortex was spinning towards her.

Another set of scorching burns was thrown towards Ayirwen as she watched the snowflakes melt without freezing the fox. She shook her head in disgust at herself and responded quickly to Raina's command to "Get out of the way!" She didn't get out of the way though, the flames formed a circle around her and left her struggling for breath and relief from the flames. She slipped into the water after crossing through the ring of fire and felt the flames on her fur die out. She was definately going to be missing some fur for awhile from this battle.
"Use surf Ayirwen!" At the command the Seel quickly gathered up all the power she had and sent a huge wave flying at the opponent. If she didn't get this hit the battle might take a turn for the worst.
HP: 350/700 (Last burn)

Venna went flying into the water with tsunami like wave and gave up gurgling for air.
"Bout time you got a bath!" She teased as the kitsune shook herself out. "Give that seel a quick attack! Dive in there and get her!"
Venna growled at having to get wet again but she followed orders and took off.

Ayirwen had been swimming around in the pool and saw the fox thrashing wildly towards the surface. Swimming quickly towards the opponent she saw the fox dissapear and then all of a sudden she flew back into the water and hit Ayirwen head on.
The impact caused momentary confusion but Ayirwen quickly retaliated, swimming a wide circle to build speed and aiming a body slam straight at the Vulpix.
Raina in the mean time was watching, she knew that Ayirwen would make the right choices now. She couldn't see what was going on under the water but Ayirwen could and that was why Raina didn't give any commands. She watched anxiously with her fingers crossed murmuring "C'mon, get a critical hit!" to herself repeatedly, eyes constantly scanning the field for the shape of either pokemon.
