Share your most glorifying show moments here. Mine would have to be during BOA Grand Nationals last year: Having an NFL stadium full of HS band members and parents cheer louder than your 210-member college marching band during the climax note of 2001 (Also Sprach Zarathustra). There's a recording of that moment, but later in the show here, at "2006 BOA Video Clips": http://www.racerband.com/Media.html

Most breathtaking moment?
Well, I really want to breathe at this part in our third song when we're marching rather fast (nearly backwards jazz runs) and the clarinets are playing fast, chromatic runs.
Most glorious moment? Hmmmm...when we played King Kong my freshman year, and at the end of our FBA-festival performance, the crowd started freaking out. Even though we only scored an excellent, the crowd's enthusiasm made it worth it.

Breathtaking.. hmm.. Well, I cant say the same thing Aoi said, so.. When we found out we might perform in London, but heard the Board of Education vetoed it. When we heard that, we applied to perform at Hawaii and was once again vetoed. Words can't describe the anger we felt.
Most Glorious would be the time we thought we got all III's, but got all I's. OUr band was the loudest and rowdiest that night. But I might be changed with our trip to Chicago this year.

Mhmmmm....going to finals at SHSU is one hell of a show. x] We're not a band who falls up and down anymore.
I love that field and the way the lights just hit in all directions. Plus the pulse of the yelling from our fans. What a grand way of ending our season.

In our show, the highest I go up to is the G right below that. On the pic that I used at the beginning of the season I could always get it, but that one broke and now I'm stuck using the old one, and I can hardly ever hit it sad But on flute, that's an entirely different story... My most glorious moment would be two years ago, at the final hit of our show. It was this big push in cut time, and the whole band was in a huge arc, high-stepping backwards into an even bigger arc. At All-States (USSBA), it had never sounded better, and at that moment we knew that we were going to win, which we did biggrin

Well...
Most breathtaking...was probably two flukes during some competitions...
"Welcome Dominion Valley to the field..." We're just Dominion...not a cross-breed between us and Loudoun Valley...XD
And... "The first place music award for 2A goes to..." *train horn blows* "....uh...*says school*"
Most glorifying?
Probably at the same festival as the second thing happened at, we got second place percussion. I swear, all of us in perc. were on a pride-high for the rest of the night.

Most breathtaking: In Blizzard (the last movement of our UIL show), the band splits at the fifty, jazz runs through each other for 16 counts, four count horns up, back half of the band double times forward and meshes with the front half who's half timing backwards diagonally. One wrong move and it's a multi-instrument pile-up and serious injuries!
... Or the fact that we got ONE standing ovation all season for our UIL show, but we got SEVERAL for the military show we do after UIL's over and our football team's in the play-offs. sweatdrop
Forget making shapes on the field and doing something really complicated! WE CAN MARCH IN STRAIGHT LINES AND DO STEP-TWOS AND PINWHEELS! eek xd
(and this probably doesn't make sense because I'm half-asleep xd )

Most breathtaking, amazing, spectacular moments?
This year, Cavalcade Championships in Hershey, PA.
One: When the announcer said: "Oakcrest Ambassadors, you may take the feild in Calvalcade Championship Competition." And then there's this silence before the show starts. I get the shivers every time.
Two: When I caught my third number toss. My smile went from this smile to biggrin times a million.
Three: Winning Best Guard. The most amazing feeling in the world.
Four: Finding out our Guard score. 19.0 out of 20.

Just a note, I'm in a college band.
Best moment ever in my band is running out of the tunnels in our stadium. We run onto Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, which is also an NFL stadium. My first game was at like...8 o'clock at night. The stadium was all lit up and it was dark, and once I came out of the CO2 smoke, the first thing I saw a packed and lit up stadium full of cheering fans.
The second coolest was when we were at Syracuse University last year during their homecoming. Naturally, they were loud during halftime and yelling stuff at us. We were playing superman, and when we turned around to face the student section and kicked the chorus (so to speak...), they went dead silent. At their own homecoming.

At Giant Stadium (USSBA group 4) I was standing on the field waiting for awards and I had never felt my heart beat that fast. We had this amazing amazing amazing show and in our hearts we felt good. When they got to second place finally it was down to us and another school who had a history for always winning. when they said "in second place witha score of 97.55.........(1 minute later)...King Phillip" my heart started racing and I was shaking so uncontrollably. every nerve in my body was on fire and I have never felt anything like that ever in my life. When they called "in first place with a score of 97.575, Nazareth" I could barely move to give the salute. I think I cried

Oh, another really amazing thing was probably the trumpet solo in one of our festivals.
HE ROCKED TEH STADIUM. I swear, almost everyone in the stands was cheering--even the other bands!

Our most breathtaking moment?
That would have to be at our first competition. Not even halfway through the show, we had people standing up in the stands screaming, "GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!" Even people who had never seen us before were on their feet. We finished playing our last song and I swear I thought I was gonna go deaf from all of the screaming. Our band director was almost crying because he said this was the best show he'd seen in years.
Truly amazing. <321
