Beckett’s father, Charles (Charley) Ferris comes from one of the “younger” wizarding families. While the majority of people within the line are magical, none are actually pureblood as the Ferris line is a mixture of older wizarding family lines and muggle family lines. Charley, like many of his ancestors before him, fell in love with a Muggle woman, Eleanor Noble, when they were both very young. From the start, Eleanor knew that Charley was a wizard, but love conquered all, as they say. The young Mr. and Mrs. Ferris had three children: Beckett (the oldest, a girl), Baylee (the middle child, two years younger than Beckett and a girl), and Bryce (the youngest, four years younger than Beckett and a boy). For a couple years, the family lived happily together in the English countryside until the summer that little Bryce fell ill. Despite all the medical care they could provide, Bryce couldn’t pull through and died that winter. The family tried to hold together, but in the end the grief and confusion proved too much for Eleanor. Charley and Eleanor divorced about a year after Bryce’s death. Many people in the wizarding world assume that an underlying issue with her husband’s magical ability was the actual cause of Eleanor’s request for divorce, but as none of the family talks about that trying time, especially Beckett, no one knows for sure. The two remaining Ferris children live with Charley as both are magical. They see their mother on important holidays and on their birthdays, but for the most part she became fairly nonexistant in their lives after the death of Bryce and the subsequent divorce.
A Bit About Him/Her :
Many people seem to think, that if Baylee Ferris looked into the mirror of Erised, she only see herself, perhaps a bit thinner, but other than that, just herself, as she was. How else could she be so happy, so carefree? None of her Hogwarts-friends has ever seen her cry, they've rarely even seen her sour or pissed.
So why is Baylee Ferris so happy, all the time? What's a her secret? The truth is, it's a promise. Almost a years after the funeral of her brother. Baylee had cried for months and months then, just locking herself in her room, shutting of the light to check if she would die, too. She didn't speak, or care about the rest of her family. The divorce became a wake-up call. How could she not have realized what the others were going trough? She promised herself never to be that selfish again, to from hereon now, think of others first. This came quite natural to her, it was something she'd allways done, but never thought of, but this promise had an awful side-effect. Baylee wouldn't premit herself to be sad anymore.
Now, 5 years later, Baylee Ferris is a girl of few talents, but those she have, she cares for tenderly. She's a liked girl, for she's allways positive and quick to aid her friends as well as her foes. She never seems to be far from giggles, and loves to gossip. Baylee is an avredge student, and only exceeds in Care of Magical Creatures, were she's driven by her passion of the magical creatures themselves. When she was younger, she used to collect Horklumps and study them up in her room. Actually, when researching various magical creatures is probably the only time when Baylee like to be alone. Otherwise, she makes sure to allways be around people, wheter it's her family or her friends.
Baylee social skills are probably her most prominent. She's very likely to stike up a conversation about nothing with anyone, and often, sometimes to her her friends dismay, invites people whom she thinks looks lonley to join. A lover of gossip, as said, Baylee is a huge fan of magazines such as Witch Weekly, and has weekly crushes on different boys.
In many ways, Baylee is the opposite of her sister, but that isn't to say she's not fond of her, because she is, very much.
But looking at the two, one would have to be very smart to see the similarities. Baylee is rather short and chubby, with blonde, curly hair and a round face. She's not to keen on sports, and couldn't fly a broom if her life depended on it, as she's both rather clumsy and is uncomforable when it comes to heights.
A Moment By Himself/Herself :
Sparkles. Her hair sparkled as it swept past her face. Her nails shone, her eye-lides flutterd, filled with colour. Side-step, sides-step, hands together and twirl! On the desk stood a the magical equivalent of a stereo, and from it poured the music and lyrics of A'polon, the greatest singer to ever be on WW.
"Oh, you witch, I am the Seeker and you are my Snitch. Oh, you witch, let's play together in the Quidditch-pitch!"
Baylee's squeeky voice mixed with A'polon's, with the results being almost unbarable for the human ear. Ducan, who sat on top of her dresser, didn't looked to pleased either. He hooted in protest a few times, but his voice was drowned by the wailings of A'polon.
Baylee herself stood on her bed, her wand in one hand, as if i was a microphone, dancing and singing, just like her hero of the month.
When the chourus came, she suddenly jumped down from the bed, making her way across the room, moving with the music, allways with the music. Her arm outstreched, her fingers lightly brushing against her new robes, the striped tie with the a headband to match. A single butterflies broke loose and flutterd around in her stomach. Tomorrow.
