A Battle between Hellfire the Houndoom and Venna the Vulpix!  Pokemon Type- Dark/Fire Known moves- Shadow Ball, Return, Crunch, Flamethrower  Pokemon Type- Fire Known Moves- Ember, Quick Attack, Flamethrower, Fire Spin

The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land.
Rhea entered the stadium amongst loud cheers. This would be her first battle in quite a few months, since Hellfire had gotten into a fight with a rich man's pikachu. Looking over to her friend, Rhea smiled. "Are you ready, Hellfire?" She asked.
The Houndoom looked up at her trainer with her single, glowing, red eye. Baring her fangs and growling, she turned back to face the other side of the field. It had been a while, but she was ready. Flexing her well-toned muscles, her only handicap was her missing eye, the hole sewed shut. But that mattered not.

The breeze wound its way throught Jenette's hair and a smile formed on her face. "This is a good field..." She said to herself as she looked to her Vulpix, ready at the side of the field. "ALRIGHT VENNA! Let's show em what we got!!" She cried, pointing out at the battle field.
"Vulpix!" The little fox pokemon cried and scurried out onto the field, ready to fight her opponent. She wasn't going to let size matter, even though that Houndoom did look a little menacing.

"Alright, Hellfire! Let's show 'em that you're still in the game! Shadow ball!" Rhea yelled out.
Bounding forward, Hellfire's eye glows even more maliciously. Opening her maw, a black, transparent ball of energy begins to form. Snarling, she releases the ball towards the fox pokemon. Not stopping, she continues to run towards her opponent.

"Run Venna!!" Was all Jenette could say as she saw the attack looming towards her prized fox.
Venna tried to get away but the attack caught her square in the side. Rolling over a couple times she growled, "Vulll...." And stood back up as if nothing happened.
"It's ok Venna! Take it for the team! Show this Houndoom your Fire Spin!" She called out this time.
The Vulpix nodded and readied herself. "Vulll.... PIX!" Sudden a fiercy column went spirling towards the foe.

"EEP!" Was all Rhea could let out before the Fire Spin hit her partner. Covering her face against the heat, she coughed and covered her mouth. Recovering, she looks up. "Hellfire!"
The houndoom, hit full-force by the attack, laid on the ground. But not for long as she got up, shaking off some charred fur. That had stung. A lot.
"It's ok, Hellfire! Use your Flamethrower!" Rhea called out. Her heart was racing. What if her Best friend wasn't ready to battle again? What if this was a mistake? But this was Hellfire's choice...not hers.
Hellfire gathered her breath, then let loose a jet of black flames.

"Dodge the flames and give em your Quick Attack!" She shouted out, adrenaline surging through her body as well.
The vulpix began speeding up, but didn't get out of the way from the flames fast enough. They stopped her dead in her tracks and she went flying back, rolling along the grass again. Even though she was a fire pokemon, fire still hurt.
The flames had singed her coat but she wasn't going to let that stop her. Getting back up to speed she went charging for her opponent.

Stopping the jet of flames coming from her mouth, Hellfire snarls as the little fox hits her square in the chest. Maintaining her footing and sliding back a little, the Houndoom looks to her trainer for a command.
Her Houndoom was being hurt, and it scared her. Rhea starts to quiver, soon falling to her knees. This was a bad idea..."H-Hellfire...Re-Return!"
She knew what her trainer meant, but instead of retreating, Hellfire simply snarled, Flexed her muscles, and charged at the Vulpix, her whole body engulfed in a bright red flame.

"VENNA!" Jenette cried as she saw this determined Houndoom crash into her tiny Vulpix. How badly she wanted to jump down and scoop up the little body in her arms. "Venna! Please... Please... get up!" She said almost hysterical.
Venna lay there limp for a moment and was breathing heavily. That hit had hurt... a lot... staggering to her feet she wobbled back and forth a little then shook her head, gaining her senses. She was still moving, that was a good thing.
"Venna... try another Fire Spin!" She called, knowing it was her voice that kept her fox pokemon going.
Holding her balance, huffing and puffing, the little Vulpix opened her mouth. "Vulll ... pix!" It cried, the firey blaze circling over towards her opponent.

As the flames engulfed her body, Hellfire snarled, then roared. It had stung, yet again, but it wasn't bad. Looking back towards Rhea, she whimpered.
Almost to tears, Rhea clenches her necklace before calling out "Fl-Fl-Flamethrower!"
Nodding, Hellfire Let loose a jet of black flame even larger than the last one. She had to make Rhea proud again.

Unable to move very fast, the flames hit her and she fell to her knees again. Whining loudly she winced and slowly stood up. Maybe bigger was better...
"Venna.... come on lovely... please, stand up..." She said breathlessly.
Slowly rising she glared at the Houndoom and gave a confindent look to Jenette, with a "I won't give up look."
Jenette nodded and thought what would be the most effective. "Venna, try and do a Quick Attack!" She called down to her.
The Vulpix nodded weakly and ran towards the Houndoom.

Getting struck in the chest, Hellfire yelped in pain. That had hurt. Recovering, Hellfire looked at the little vulpix with sympathetic eyes. It wasn't easy, losing a battle.
"Now use Crunch!"
Leaping at the small fox, she opens her jaws, fangs gleaming.

Venna fell as the Houndoom caught her right around the stomach. With what sounded like a dying cry the vulpix went limp.
Jenette was on the verge of tears as she cried out Venna's name and the fox didn't reply. "Oh Venna... I'm so sorry..." she wailed as the offical waved up a flag to signal the fainted pokemon. Rushing from her platform she scooped up the fallen vulpix into her arms and held back her tears.
Walking over to the other trainer she made a proud smile and reached out a hand, the other cradleing her fallen pokemon. "G-Good match..." She said as she looked down in disappointment at the loss.
