Ready... Begin!!  Moves: Ember, Quick Attack, Flamethrower, and Fire SpinVS  Moves: Thunder Fang, Howl, Bite, and Flamethrower Setting: Size doesn't make a difference as these two line up for battle in the Zatou Stadium!

Battleground Selection!
Randomizer...start!
As the randonmizer spun the crowd waited with cries at their favorite field, finally the dial stopped... THE ICE FIELD!
The temperature of the stadium suddenly dropped several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifted for the upcoming battle. The floor was made of extremely slick ice, which would make manuverablity, even simply standing, difficult. Crystal-like pillars reached skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field.

Are all participants ready for battle?
The new official for this matched stepped forward, garbed in treaded boots (to avoid slipping on the icy ground) and a thick winter coat colored in Black and Blue.
Flicking the flags held in each so they parallel to the ground, the female attendant glanced at each trainer.
"This is an official one on one Pokemon battle! There is no time-limit and the battle may only conclude when one or both opponents faint. Trainers....are you and pokemon ready for battle?"

Jenette's teeth chattered as she wrapped her arms around herself to keep warm. "Shoulda grabbed a coat..." She breathed, seeing the steam that it caused made her shiver. "O-ok V-venna! L-let's do this!" She cried out as she threw a pokeball out.
The red beam soon formed a Vulpix on the ice field. When her paws touched the ground she immediately slipped with a, "Pix!". A giggle arose fromt he crowd and Jenette glared. Poor thing was going to have troubles with this match.

Kimi had outfitted herself heavily in a sweater and coat. Her movement felt impaired in she hated it. At least I'm warm.... she thought dryly. She looked at her opponents warily, unsure of how well this could end up. Reaching into one of her pockets she pulled out a great ball and tossed it into the air silently.
As the ball hit the icy ground, Vera emerged out of it in a red beam. Like her opponent she instantly slipped once she paws were on the ground. With a grunt she landed heavily, nearly biting her tongue. Kimi slapped her hand to her face and sighed. This wasn't going to go well.

"Venna! Let's warm this place up! Use your Flamethrower!" Jenette shouted out, maybe those flames would lick up here... she wouldn't mind being a little warmer.
The Vulpix managed to gain her footing and opened her small mouth. "VULLLPIX!" She cried and the fiery string swirled out towards her opponent, the force of the attack even made her slide back a little.

Vera let out a growl and leaped to her feet. Or would have if she had used her pads. Her leap caused her to loose her balance once again and slide out of the way of danger. Kimi quickly tried to take advantage of her Pokemon's clumsiness.
"Vera you counter with a Flamethrower of your own." she called, uneasiness still in her voice. "And try to keep your balance!"
Vera growled angrily as she lurched to her feet, sliding forward a little. She turned her head back towards Venna and opened her mouth to release the fiery blast. Her balance had still not returned totaling and lurched to the side.

Upset that Venna's attack missed Jenette called out encouraging words to the fox pokemon. "Oh No!" As she she had been reassuring her pokemon the Houndoom had launched an attack. "Slide out of the way Venna!" She shouted out.
The Vulpix looked up confused to her owner and when she looked back the firey blast was about to hit her, trying to scramble out of the way she got knicked on her tails. "Vul!" She yelped.
Jenette groaned. "It's ok lovely! Just let them drag on the ice! That wil cool em down! Let's give this Houndoom a Quick Attack!"
The Vulpix nodded, letting her tails fall and slide, it definately helped with balance, she slid over to a column and began pushing off it, then off the next one. soon she had gained a strong momentum and was sliding towards her opponent.

Kimi gasped as she watched the Vulpix slide towards Vera so fast. "Vera quickly get out of the way!" she shouted. Vera dropped onto the ground and dug her back claws into the ice. As Venna drew closer she pushed with her hind legs to slide fast across the ice and into one of the pillars where she used her front paws to stop herself and turn.
Kimi smiled at her Pokemon's resourcefulness. "Vera use a Thunder Fang." she said after racking her brain for an attack. Vera let out a delighted growl and launched herself off the pillar, like Venna, aiming for her opponent.

Jenette's eyes widened as the Houndoom moved out of the way of the attack... but now, what was going to stop Venna? She cried out as she watched her little fire pokemon try to stop, but soon she collided with the wall. "V... are you alright!?"
The Vulpix shook her head a little, a little confused at hitting the wall so hard, but she rose and nodded.
"Good girl!!" Jenette cried with a smirk. "Alright let's melt that ice the houndoom is sliding on with Ember!"
The vulpix seemed to have a glint in her eye as she sent a scorching flame at the Houndoom's lower body.

"Vera jump!" Kimi cried out. She hadn't had time to think up a way to dodge it and forgot her poor partner was on ice. Vera was used to trusting Kimi and dug her claws into the ice to try and jump into the air.
Her attempt was a near success. She managed to get air borne but her paw had slipped when she was taking off and she went lop sided, still avoiding the attack but landing hard on her side. Oh drat! Kimi thought. "Let out another Flamethrower!" she ordered at the same moment.
Vera opened her mouth and let out a blast of flames. The force of it though, and her still being on her side, caused her to start to spin around in a circle.

Venna wasn't doing to well now, she couldn't get out of the way of the new attack. Sliding all around she was struck by the flame.
"Come on Venna... pull through..." She groaned. Watching her poor pokemon sliding all over, then finally staggering to get up. "V-Venna... let's try a quick attack!"
The pokemon nodded and sunk to her belly, now clawing around to get momentum. Hopefully this one would land...

Vera's fiery breath ran out but she continued to spin helplessly. She flipped around trying to right herself but only made things worse. Kimi held her head and sighed. So much for her partner being resourceful.
Kimi noticed the fox charging towards Vera to late. "Vera look ou-" she began. Venna had just hit Vera coming around on another turn sending her flying across the ice and into the wall. "Ouch. Are you okay Vera?" she called out. Vera clumsily got to her feet shaking her head and trying to make everything come into focus again.
"Ok try Bite Vera." Kimi said nervously. Vera shook her head again, crouched and pushed off after Venna.

The Houndoom caught Venna right around the waist, making her yelp.
"Venna! Are you ok!?" She knew the bite had hurt a lot... hopefully that didn't crack a rib... "C-Can... you try an ember?" She knew this was almost over... that houndoom was too big...
Venna nodded weakly and sent a burst of flame at the houndoom that had just crushed her.

Vera was just beginning to get her feet on the ice and skidded to a stop before turning to see what Venna was doing. When she saw the embers coming towards her she went off before Kimi could give an order. Seeing her Pokemon begin to make a move Kimi quickly tried to think up something.
"Vee use Thunder Fang!" she called. Vera growled at not being able to do what she had wanted to do, but changed course and headed again for Venna.
