Ekage yawned as he tred onward, he had crossed some borderline not that long ago, perhaps a few minutes before, and there was a smile on his face, a giant stone structure was in the distance, and the grass was long here, and would be able to hide his bright white pelt.
The pridelands, he had heard of this place.
Flopping down into the grass blades he sighed contently, this was a home, this was a place to be, though he wasn't sure if he would be able to find a place here, he was afterall a rogue, and he wasn't sure if the pride would accept any new members..or if hte existing members would want another rogue in their midst.
His mind was musing, he wasn't ure what to do.

Amesi stretched atop a small boulder. Normally she liked to go wandering around the Pridelands, seeing all there was to see, but today she felt tired and exhausted. She was panting hard and slightly out of breath, even though she hadn't been doing much of anything that day besides resting on the rock. She was growing worried, her normal enthusiasm drained straight out of her.
Groaning, she shifted atop the rock, watching out over the grasslands. She could see the border quite clearly. Lately she had taken to hanging around where she could see it, as she still had the notion that one day she would cross the borders and explore the rest of the world. But finally the idea was beginning to sink in that perhaps she wouldn't be physically capable. No wonder her father was always fretting over her safety and wellbeing.
Nevertheless, she was determined. She would explore the world if it killed her. Meanwhile, she would watch the borders and daydream.
Minutes passed into an hour as she continued laying where she was and watching the edge of the Pridelands. At first she felt that nothing would ever happen, as not much ever did in her day to day life. Yet, blinking, she noticed a form moving through the grasses. It wasn't hard to miss, as it was bright white much like her own. At first she was frightened. She had heard of the story of how Mufasa had been killed. It had been a rogue, uninvited, on the lands. Yet fear melted to excitement as she continued to watch him. He was white, just like her!
Wiggling, she leapt from the top of the rock and bounded closer. She was still naive enough to run straight up to strangers. Although, this time she didn't run all the way. She simply grew close enough to where she could see him while crouched down. As he walked, she stalked him, tail swishing back and forth as if she were on a hunt. Yet she was very inexperienced at hunting, having never done it before, and so she was making quite a bit of noise.
It was a wonder he hadn't discovered her yet.

Ekage watched he clouds over his head, and rolled once or twice as if to make a nice little nest area just for himself, though it was quite large so that he could sprawl out somewhat. He let his ears and eyes take in everything around him, it was so lovely here so peaceful, he bet those that were here loved it here, he wished he had a home to love as well.
Ears flickering he heard some twigs move, grass blades shuffle, and he raised a brow at the invisible figure that seemed to be close and begin to venture ever close. He smiled, he doubted anyone would attack him, he wasn't doing anything wrong, just resting, and then again, if he was attacked, he could protect himself, being a rogue made him strong and wise.
"Someone there?" he asked in a soothing tone, trying to coax whoever was hidden out of their lurking, "Its alright, I'm only merely resting is all."

Having never hunted before, Amesi had the false notion that she was actually doing rather well. She knew she was making a bit of noise, but she thought that perhaps the other would account that to some insignificant creatures scampering about the land. Yet as Ekage called out and asked if someone was there, she frowned to herself and raised herself up into a proper standing position.
"Aw, how'd you know I was here?" she asked, emerging from the grasses and coming face to face with a large white male. His size scared her for a second, her being so small and all, but in an instant she forgot her fear and instead smiled at him. Her initial defeat forgotten, she lay on her belly in front of him. "And don't worry," she giggled. "I'm not a sentry or anything."
Rolling over to her side, she watched him with bright blue eyes. "I've never seen you around before," she commented. "Are you looking for someone?" Amesi didn't know a lot of members in the pride, but she felt she knew enough that she could help him in the right direction if he was looking for someone in particular.

Ekage flicked his tail and rolled over to lay on his stomach, facing the white and black marked female that lay before himself. He smiled charmingly as if to not alarm her, she seemed so nice, why was she alone out here so near to the borders anyway? There were dangerous lions out in the roguelnds, that he knew, would be such a shame for one to venture so close to here to this nice young female.
Young, yes and no, she was older, though not as old as himself, though he wasn't ancient either.
"Just little noises is all, you're actually very good at sneaking around I must say," he said with a nod, white mane falling in front of his deep brown eyes somewhat.
"I'm a traveler, though I'm looking to perhaps end that sort of thing in a way I ahve been looking for my family, but to no avail I fear, though they are always with me in my heart I assure you," he said with a smile.
"where are my manners? I am Ekage," he said bowing his head in respect to her, smiling all the while.

Even though she wasn't worried about him to begin with, his friendly nature and smile helped to assure her that he wasn't planning on harming her. And that was good news for her, since she wasn't capable of defending herself, especially against big males like him.
Giggling after he said that she was good at sneaking around, she flicked her tail and rolled onto her back so that she had to look at him upside down. "Really? I've never been good at that sort of thing. I can't hunt." She admitted that willingly, feeling that it didn't set her back any at this particular point in time. She didn't need to hunt, as there were plenty of others within the pride to bring down enough game. Besides, she was incapable of physically hunting, so even if she wanted to she'd probably hurt herself anyways.
At the mention that he was looking for his family, she frowned slightly. She didn't know what she would do if she ever lost her family and couldn't find them.
"I'm sorry," she spoke quietly, rolling back to lay on her belly. "I'm sure you'll find them soon." Or at least she hoped. But she was overly positive at times, and didn't always realize that some things were just never meant to be.
But her mood brightened as he introduced himself. "I'm Amesi!" she spoke excitedly, smiling warmly at him as she wiggled slightly. Meeting new people always put her in the greatest of moods, and she soon forgot her earlier exhaustion. "I really like your name, Ekage," she commented. It was fun to say, and easy too. She wouldn't need to shorten it or give him a nickname.

"Either way, being able to sneak around so well can come in handy with many other things besides hunting, like relaxing or playing with friends and family," he said with a chuckle. Yes, he remembered when he and his siblings would hide in tall grasses and seek out each other when they were young. They were such fun games to play indeed.
"Its alright, do not worry yourself with such things," he said with a smile, happy tone of voice, "Someday I will see them again, I am sure of it," either in his dreams or in his life, he would see them again, he would, he was positive.
"Amesi, a beautiful name for such a beautiful lioness I must say," he said smiling, blinking in the sunlight, "Sounds gentle but with a hidden strength, least to my ears," he had ot admit, it was such a nice surprise to find someone almost as white pelted as he was.

Amesi beamed at Ekage. Even though she knew she wasn't the best at sneaking around, hearing him say that she wasn't all that bad helped to boost her confidence a little. Perhaps she would try sneaking around more often, that way she would be able to hunt a little and prove her worth to everyone. So far, what had she done to prove she was a worthy pride member?
Even as he said that she shouldn't worry about him not being able to find his family, she did so all the same. She frowned and folded her round ears back, wishing she could do something to help him out. But what good could she do? She couldn't go running about the place looking for them, as she felt they weren't in the Pridelands and she had never been outside of them. She was too frightened. Damn it!
When he complimented her name and her looks, she smiled shyly at him. She was old enough now to feel giddy around some males, though she still didn't know what the feelings meant.
"You really think so?" she asked quietly, feeling that he seemed to get her more than anything, even if he might just be guessing. She always felt that she had an inner strength that no one else could see, and that her pretty name always hid. She kneaded the ground nervously, her stomach giving her a sick feeling in the best way possible.
"And your name, Ekage... does it mean anything?" she wondered.

"Of course," he said smiling softly, watching her, her eyes were so bright, there had to be something hidden deep that no one else could see, no one else knew, and that made her stronger, even if others didn't believe it was there, it could make her stronger. Flicking his tail he chuckled while watching her knead the ground, "Do I make you nervous Amesi? I can move back if you would like me too," he was being sincere, he didn't want her to be nervous or afraid, he liked making new friends, and Amesi seemed so nice and kind, he didn't want to scare her away.
"It does, though honestly I cannot remember, I believe it has something to do with strength of a warriors heart and family, something along those lines, my parents seemed to always find such meaningful names, and I love mine, it makes me unique, as yours makes you unique and one of a kind."
It was nice and easy to talk with Amesi, this was making his day so much brighter.
"If you don't mind my asking Amesi, why are you so close to the borders?"

When he asked if he made her nervous, she looked down at her paws to realize that she was clawing the ground. She was confused for a moment, as she hadn't realized that she had done so. Shaking her head at herself, she pulled her claws back in then looked back to Ekage. "I honestly don't know why I was doing that," she said uneasily. She had butterflies in her stomach again. "You don't make me nervous." At least not in the way that he thought. "You can stay where you are," she smiled.
"Well you certainly do look strong," she laughed slightly, blue eyes traveling along his strong form. He was a rogue, and it was only logical that he be strong enough to protect himself and to provide food for himself. She only wished some day she'd be able to do the same. But for now, she was content to simply converse with him.
"Mine means flower, I think." She made a face, not really liking the implication that her name gave. Flowers were pretty, but weak and fragile. She didn't want anyone to think that was how she actually was.
When he asked why she was so close to the borders, she looked down at her paws in slight embarassment. "I want to see the rest of the world, but I'm too scared. So I watch the border instead, and dream of what it would be like out there." She frowned at herself, ashamed that she should be so afraid of the outside world. But she had fair reason to. The Pridelands were a nice home, safe and comforting. There was no telling what was out there.

"Alright," he said with a smile, watching her relax a bit more. That was good, he didn't want her to feel strange around him, he didn't want to seem like a big meanie of some sort. "Thank you," he said, fidgeting his paws once or twice, he had never been complimented before really, and it was a nice feeling indeed. "Flowers are nice, there are flowers I've seen in in jungles and deserts that are strong looking and strong on their own to survive in such conditions," he said with a nod, hoping that it might make her feel better to know of the other strong flowers that inhabited the world.
"Really?" he asked intrigued and interested, "Its nice, to be able to travel, though after a while it get monotonous, and you just want to have a home again, I've been traveling since I was very young, I've seen a lot over the rising and setting of the sun each day," he said with a smile.
"Perhaps if you don't expose me to the pride as a troublemaker, I could stay for a time and tell you of other places? I have a good memory of such things."

Amesi giggled slightly as she noticed him fidgeting. It was rather amusing, watching a grown, strong male squirm like that. Even so, she felt bad for having made him fidget. But she really did mean what she said. And it pleased her when he began talking about this strong flower that he knew of. It made her dislike her name less, and perhaps even like its meaning. Others thought that since her name was flower then she wouldn't be much of a threat, but she'd show them how strong she could be.
"Thanks, Ekage," she smiled, rolling onto her back and pawing at him slightly.
"Well I've been stuck here my whole life. I've seen everything there is to see in the Pridelands. I want to go out and see the world, to meet everyone that I can and see all that I can. It must have been so amazing to see so many different places," she spoke quietly, her eyes full of interest. She always envied those who had had the chance to travel and weren't confined to just one place.
Giggling, she nodded her head. "I think I can keep your troublemaking a secret. I'd love to hear of all the places you've been." Smiling, she pawed at him again.

"Being stuck in a place like this for a lifetime I would not mind, it seems so nice," he peered around for a moment, taking it in again, and yes, he could definitely have spent his whole life here and loved it so. He chuckled and pawed at her paw, letting it touch hers only slightly, again, he didn't want to make her nervous, "Yes, cause I'm such a troublemaker Amesi," he said with sarcasm and a chuckle.
As if.
flicking his tail he searched his memories of where to start, he could ahve so many stories to tell her it would last so long, though talking with Amesi for a long time didn't seem bad, not at all.
"Where should I start hmm, Oh I know, so when I was just a cub..." he started telling a story about when he first decided to travel, when he was playing a game and got lost, and how he thought it'd be interesting to see other places, but always come home.
Home, home was always a great thing to have.

Amesi followed the male's gaze as he looked all around himself. She watched the Pridelands with semi-interest, having seen everything before multiple times. She supposed it would seem beautiful and like the ultimate place to Ekage, but to her it was old news. She'd been seeing it ever since she was a cub, and so the outside world was what interested her. And, as he was from the outside world, he interested her too.
Giggling, she tried to grab onto his paw as he pawed back, showing him that she was completely comfortable now. "I know, I'm going to have to tell you to change your ways if you don't stop causing so much trouble."
As he began to speak of stories from his past, she immediately grew serious, laying flat on her belly and looking at him with bright, blue eyes.
She couldn't wait to hear what he had to tell her.
