--->OMG anyone see uncle in 3.04? THAT WAS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. When he ripped off his clothing and was eating his little bread/apple/whatever you wanna call it, I screamed a little fangirl scream. I couldn't beleive it! He so buff, what do you think he's doing?
Possible theories:
-He is in on the Black sun day thing and is buffing up to kick some major butt.
-He is buffing up to break out of jail
-Misc
What do you think?

Man was I surprised by that. eek Just how long has he been working out?
I think now he's waiting for the guard to do something stupid and then make an escape on his own. If he does, I don't know what he will do next; go look for the Gaang and join or go after Zuko and knock some sense into him.

I seriously doubt he's going to 'break out'. He could have done it at any time. He's Iroh, he doesn't have his rep for no reason.
I think he's biding his time. Waiting for the right opportunity to strike and take down his brother or something. Using his time in jail to train and such.

Okay I was so not expecting it.. the fact that he's buff still hasn't got in my head. But I think that he is training and working out in jail, waiting for a moment to break free, and he will join Aang and the gang (wow it rhymed) and help them defeat the fire lord.

You know... it's possible he's just working out to pass the time. I mean... what else is he going to do? And fooling the guard's just his own little personal joke to chuckle over when the guard leaves.

I was so surprised to see Iroh buff! I knew all of that working out had to pay off, but, nevertheless, I was still shocked to see those muscles.
Like some of the others, I think he is waiting for the right time to make his escape so why not pass the time by training. I'm sure that he doesn't want to waste all of that time just sitting and wondering when his spoiled nephew will grow up (yes, I am still upset with the way he treated Iroh).
I love how he pretends to be unaware of his surroundings and starving when the guard is around, then he smirks when he leaves. ^_^

Iroh that smart b*****d. Seriously, how long had he been hiding those sheets under his clothes? I am pretty sure that he was buff the whole time in Season 2....
Anyway, this is my theory: He is biding his time until he finds a good opportunity to leave, like ninja. Then, he'll find his little white lotus club and then find the Gaang.
Speaking of the White Lotus secret club thingy, anyone think they're going to have a hand in defeating the Fire Lord and help out the Gaang? I mean Sokka's master is totally a member as we saw in the last scene of this weeks episode...
And another thing, what is the true purpose of the White lotus secret society anyway? I know for a fact that they aren't prejudice to the other nations since we saw Sokka's master AND Iroh reference about information not being with held only to one nation, but should be shared with all...kinda thing.
Did that make any sense? xp

I think that Uncle is totally preparing for an escape, perhaps aided by the White Lotus...
Allow me to explain. I believe that the White Lotus are an underground Firelord Ozai rebellion. It makes sense because Iroh chose to betray his country, and the man who taught Sokka didn't care that he was water tribe (he had the White Lotus on his door surrounding... DUNDUNDUN, the Fire Nation symbol).

I was surprised too, in fact when I saw it I was jumping up and down and running up to my brother "OMG OMG OMG!! UNCLE IS BUFF!!!!1"
I would think that he is waiting for the right time, but this is the Avatar: the Last Air bender we're talking about, something else is going to happen from our expectation!
But I agree with Princess Mandy The Lotus Tile is a clue!

well we all know just how smart Iroh is but i think he has a plan to break out AND maybe help out Aang and kill Ozai?? And Iroh probably still cares for Zuko (although he doesnt deserve it stressed ) so he'll probably try to convince Zuko to join the *good* side again
