Mmmk. So. Post your very favorite bands and discuss why. Not because they're 'cool' or 'mainstream'. Give us examples. Lyrics, music style, genre, etc.
Rasputina Chevelle Pretty Girls Make Graves Red Pocket Rasputina [I like them a lot, yes.] Miranda Sex Garden Rory Modest Mouse Silverstein.
First off, Rasputina. I love Melora's crazy voice and her slightly cynical lyrics. Her cello-skills are awesome, not to mention her voice is just plain enthralling. All of Rasputina's CDs have been worth buying to me, especially the newest release, Oh, Perilous World! Chevelle is an equally amazing band, sprouting from Chicago and hitting it off from there. They're lyrics are sort of psychological, they get you thinkign about society and your own self, as well as how others work and think around you. Plus, the singer has an amazing voice and can play the guitar very well.
I only wanted to describe why I liked two of these bands, since I didn't want to spam! n_n Post awaayyyy.

Mmkay. Now. Let. Me. See.
{in no particular order}
Coldplay - The voice, the lyrics, the music...it's damn perfect. "Warning Sign", "Sparks"
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Basically because I have a HUGE crush on Kiedis, but their music still rocks hard "Can't Stop", "Scar Tissue"
Miranda! - Because it's bright and fun and makes me smile. "Don", "Perfecta"
Aqualung - It's perfect to listen to when I want to calm down or de- stress, which happens A LOT "Strange and Beautiful (I'll put a spell on you)", "Brighter than Sunshine"
Jet - I love, love, love, love, love, love {etc, etc} "Are you gonna be my girl?" and "Cold Hard b***h"
The Beatles - A great oldie, famous band "I Feel Fine", "Can't Buy me Love"
Sublime - Because they have great music, sorry I'm not more descriptive, but that's pretty much it. "Greatest Hits", "Bad Fish"
Janet Jackson - Her slightly hoarse voice drips emotion, and her songs are full of spunk and love. "Bye, Bye, Baby", "Make up your mind"
Jack Johnson - Like Coldplay, the voice, lyrics and music make this dude damn perfect. "Mudfootball", "Flake"
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - {same thing as Jack Johnson and Coldplay} This is definitely the best "unknown" indie band I've ever heard. "The Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth", "Upon this Tidal Wave of Young Blood"
The Killers - Just a really great band. Sorry I can't give you more info. "My List", "Somebody Told Me"
Ximena Sariñana - She has one of the most perfect voices in the entire world. "Las Huellas", "Mañana No es Hoy"
Marilyn Monroe - I love her voice, and she is the most beautiful woman in the world {Alive or Dead, obviously}. "I Wanna be Loved by You", "Teach me, Tiger"
Snow Patrol - I love his soft, husky voice, and the way the lyrics make no sense, but they still give you one of those warm, fussy feelings inside. "Run", "Chasing Cars"
Just to mention a few of my favorites wink

Ooo, I have lots of favorites... I'll give you my top ten!
Fall Out Boy - I love the vocals, music, lyrics, everything. They are just perfect to me, and there is only one of their songs that I don't like.
My Chemical Romance - I love everything about them, although I do admit the lyrics are a little weak. I love how Gerard's voice sounds like a guitar. mrgreen The (real) guitar and drums blow me away.
Green Day - Who doesn't like Green Day? I love how angry they are!
Good Charoltte - I don't like their vocals, but I like their music and lyrics. Some of their newer stuff isn't very good, but of course I love The Young and the Hopeless.
Paramore - They have the pop-punk sound I like, with good vocals and lyrics.
The Academy Is... - I don't know exactly what the Academy Is, but I think their awesome! A lot like Fall Out Boy, but then again... not. A lot more rock. I wasn't a big fan of the vocals, but they're growing on me.
Silverstein - They're a bit to screamo for me, but when it's not screaming, I really like the vocals and music. I really love Worlds Apart. One of my favorite songs.
Avenged Sevenfold - I haven't heard that much of them, I guess, but I think that maybe they have the best music I've ever heard. Just amazing...
Linkin Park - Their songs are really deep emotional. At least on their newest album. I haven't heard anything else. I don't usually like rap, but Hands Held High is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard.
The Beatles - heart heart heart Not much to say about them. They probably started my love of music, and even when I moved on from classic rock to more punk, they remain one of my favorites.

You got so much love in you
The Spill Canvas: Nick's voice puts shrills down my spine from how absolutely beautiful it is. Their lyrics are so intense, every song can be put to a moment in my life. Live, they are just the best, they're so powerful and they get so into it. It's amazing.
Gregory and The Hawk: She has the prettiest voice I've ever heard. It's like the voice of angels. Her music is calm and soothing. She's a lyrical genius. And once again, her songs seem to play out moments in my life. She can put you to tears with how moving she is.
Michelle Branch (Yes, I'm really serious): Her voice is gorgeous. Don't care what anyone says. She's one of the best pop/folk artists ever. Her lyrics mean so much, even if it's just simple.
I have lots of other favs. But these are my top 3 for right now, I tend to change my mind on music sometimes. But The Spill Canvas has been my favourite band ever since I heard "The Tide" 3 years ago.
Other fav's right now are (without going to explaining). These are just bands I can listen to pretty much no matter mood I'm in.: Motion City Soundtrack. The Rocket Summer. My American Heart. Paramore. Fall Out Boy. Death Cab For Cutie. Flyleaf. Modest Mouse. You look like the songs that I've heard my whole life coming true.

The Used- This band is amazing! (Sorry had to say that.) They're lyrics are a bit twisted sometimes but they have a real good style and the tunes are great. Bert's voice is soo perfect for the songs and his laugh is epicly creep. The music fits really well and their perfect for anyone looking for something different yet the same. Best songs (in my opinion)- Paralyzed, The Taste of Ink, The Bird and the Worm, Lunacy Fringe, Pretty Handsome Awkward, Cut Up Angels, All That I've Got, and Smother Me. My Chemical Romance- What can I say? I grew up listening to this band. (Even though I'm still growing. Ha.) They're a perfect blend of great lyrics and punk rock music with an edge of alternative. The lyrics to Helena are haunting especially since lead singer, Gerard Way, was writing about his grandma. The lyrics really reach out and express the band's emotions. Their newer music from the CD Welcome to the Black Parade isn't as great in my opinion. Something about their older album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, between the lyrics, music, and overall sound of it really caught my attention. Best songs- Famous Last Words, To the End, I'm Not Okay, Helena, Thank You for the Venom, Teenegers (I liked it before it got popular thank you), and Welcome to the Black Parade.
The Used and My Chemical Romance did a colleberation on a remake of the song Under Pressure originally by David Bowie and Queen. Their remake is epic though! Everyone should seriously listen to it!
