I'm thinking about taking actual bones from animal's and putting it into a Belly Dance costume.
Why?
Because I've never seen it before. I want to make a costume that has a bit of a voodoo flavor to it.

Well as long as you're not kidnapping and killing the neighbors cat I think it sounds awesome. Sounds very tribal.

Sounds pretty cool... but please please don't go kidnapping any animals... sad
I've seen a shop up here that sells animal bones...they are mostly from cattle though.

Same here.
I think it would be cool, it's one of those things I'd never dare to do, though.
As long as the neighborhood's cats and dogs don't go missing myteriously all of a sudden, It's a great idea!

A little morbid, but unique. I was thinking of making a coin belt out of actual pennies, dimes, and nickles, but I'm not sure if it'll be too heavy. Maybe if I just do one row.
Anyhow, if you do make it post a pic. biggrin

I had the exact same idea. I found this website that had a ton of different animal bones from all around the world... but that was a few years ago and I've lost it since. sad

I designed a voo-doo priestess belly dance costume awhile back.
I say go for it...but...proceed with caution.
Alot of dancers are also sensitive to animals and what not...you might be met with some harsh words at shows. PETA people can be pretty bonkers sometimes.
