In episode 29-30 (Shippuden), when Deidara set off that huge explosion, did he die? Please tell me, because I'm kind of confused...

No. Akatsuki don't die that easily. I'm not sure exactly how he survived it, I can't quite remember, but he'll be back. Just wait and see.
