Since we're all 21+ over, I was just wondering what kind of work you all do and/or what you're studying in school.

I do both. ninja By day I'm a student studying Chinese and...well...during the rest of the day I alternate between two jobs. One of which I can surf the web at when I have free time, so you know what that means.

(P.S. I'm still up for new friends if you'd like . whee )

I'm a full time student, graduating in December with a B.S. in Psychology and a Certificate in International Affairs. biggrin I then plan to work as a substitute teacher and do some part-time work to keep me busy until the fall, when I'll hopefully (*crosses fingers*) find work teaching high school social studies.

Finishing my degree in Elementary Education, working as a High School Teacher. Weird...

I work at two different places, though I basically do the same thing at both jobs (unload trucks). I just started at the second place this week, but I may try to find a job that doesn't involve truck bays all together. xp Eh well, it's two paychecks every week, I guess.

As for school, I went to a college for computer scienece for two years until I decided I didn't want to spend the rest of my days staring at a computer monitor and writing code, so I stopped going there and started taking classes at a local community college trying to figure out what I want to do. I've more or less settled on English and I'm on whats likely going to be my last semester there before I transfer to another 4 year school.

Oh yeah, you can add me as a friend if you like. I'm around pretty often.

Well I'm a part-time student finishing off a degree in Sociology (A.A.). I have two more classes and that is complete. I'll be trying my best to get back into the four year school I was a two years ago. We had a fight ,it was ugly, they decided we needed some time apart, I left.

As for work, I'm a shift director at a hollywood video that is closing sometime in the next few months/weeks. We don't have a clue. That means I'll be moving back to Ohio to become a fu-time student and maybe work at my hold job in a library.

I have a B.S. in Psychology and I'm working on a masters in Counseling. I'm incredibly burned out and as of next year will owe 100,000 dollars in student loans. Sadly, the number skyrocketed after undergrad. I used to get 10,000 a year in scholarships.... no more crying (my grad program doesn't offer them save for diversity scholarships...and to put it simply I don't qualify for those).

I miss my pell grant too. Sadly there seems to be few scholarships for post graduate work despite my 4.0

Job wise I've been working for about two months as a Weekend Night Auditor-- and I like it! I'm the little number cruncher at a Hotel. It's a beautiful job for routine, most of the guests are asleep and not complaining, I make coffee, and I'm allowed to read in my spare time which helps a lot with the school work.

I'm also hoping to get into free-lance photography work eventually should the tooth fairy or Santa Claus give me an SLR digital camera 3nodding

Yeah...two reasons why I decided to postpone grad school, if I ever go. School is so ridiculously expensive nowadays that it's almost unattainable. confused

That is one of the reasons I'm going to go to grad school right after undergrand. As of right now I only have 18,000 dollars in student loans. Plus I've had about two years off as it is.

Yeah, I'm waiting on grad school too. After having taken two back-to-back summer semesters, and graduating in 4 1/2 years, I can't take it anymore, I'm already burned out. In any case, since my degree won't have the word "education" on it, it means I can only teach in the state of Georgia for 5 years before going back for a degree in something education-related...so I have to go back at some point.

In any case, from what I've heard, pretty much anywhere I could want to go to grad school will be easier than where I'm at for undergrad. I've got friends in various law schools who say it's a piece of cake after this! razz

i work full-time as a cnc machinist for a company that makes turbocharger components for tractor-trailers. i'm considering going back to school to become either a cnc programmer (the one that writes all the programs for the machines) or a mechanical engineer (the guy who interperates and rewrites the blueprints). i love my job, but hate the company i work for. they're the lowest paying company for that type of work in erie, pa. granted, $10/hr isn't anything to complain about, but why make $10 when i could be making anywhere from $14- $21/hr. i'm regretting my decision to drop out of college and am thinking of going back, but the money just isn't there and my work schedule won't let me do the college life.

Oh man, I just like the word turbocharger. whee

On the whole grad school thing, I definitely have mixed feelings on my decision, but after seeing what being in 10k of debt due to medical bills did to my family, I don't really want to go more than my 12k of loans right now Grad school does sound cool, though, if you aren't burned out...self directed research? Pretty awesomesss.

I understand the whole 'burned out" thing. I was in school for four years including summers straight then transfered to a four year without getting the A.A. (long story) and manged only to get myself sick and flunk out.

I'm hoping that a grad school will take me with my track record. Now that I've had most of the last two years off I think I'll be able to jump back on that rocking equine.
