Recently I've been doing a lot of sketching in MS Paint/Photoshop with the pencil tool; I'm getting comfortable with it and have been working on a sketch for a pixel ID for my deviantart.
Think you guys could give me some tips, crit, suggestions for it? I'm looking for a tutorial on how to express feathers (namely long ones like the tail of a peacock) in Paint/pixels.
If you've got any, throw them my way?

Are you presenting this as a finished product or are you planning on coloring it?

Assuming there's no major ********, I'll possibly be colouring it.

I'd get rid of that line in the middle of the thigh; I think you can easily address that with shading instead of in the outline. I like the upper body a lot, the lower body looks kinda weird, since I don't think I've ever seen someone just casually posing like that. If the wings on his head are demonic, I think they look ok, but if they're feathered, it looks too droopy. You might want to make his pecs a little bigger as well. 3nodding

The wings on his head are feathered, but the feathers are relatively ratty, I suppose. How can I better portray them as feathers?
And the lower body? Er, how do you suggest I fix that? he was intended to look as though he were 'posing' but if the pose itself looks awkward... he's a self-centred little twit, after all. 'All for the fans' and such. <.<

I think his knees are too close.. the top half is better than the bottom anyway, the feet are a bit lumpen.

It won't give you exactly what you want, but it will give you a good idea of how the object would be expressed, so you can build from there. I really think he should be standing, tbh.

Really, the only part that really bugs me is the shape of his right hip (our left)- there's this bone that I suppose is supposed to be his hip bone- if he's supposed to be skinny, I'd like to see more bones elsewhere. If he's supposed to just be willowy/thin/girl-like, then I'd bulk up some muscle and fat tissue along his hip- boys aren't as curvaceous as girls, but they do have their own shapes to them.
