Ok, so I decided to let you all know, just in case anyone cares, that I am currently in the hospital.edit: I am back at my dorm now, but I am not going to go back to classes till like monday probably. I got hit by a car while crossing at a crosswalk.
I didn't break my back or anything, which is why I said I was extremely lucky, but I did break three ribs, cracked my right scapula (shoulder blade), and bruised my lung (which also meant a little air escaped into my chest). But it could have been much worse.
I also say that Percaset makes me tired and a little incoherant, but it helps with pain.
Hiccuping and coughing and burping hurts right now, and I have the hiccups, so I am in pain xp
Just thought you guys should know in case I suddenly go inactive, it's cause I didn't have access to a computer in the hospital. Right now I am using a laptop, but if it gets put away, I can't get out of bed to get it out again.

OMG I KINDA SORTA KNOW YOUR PAIN.
So yeah, in fifth grade my lung partially collapsed and I pulled a muscle in my shoulder, which sounds like what you're going through 'cept less extreme... Yeah... waaaaaaay less extreme BUT WHUT EV.
KAY so you know like if someone makes you laugh it feels like your chest is being crushed by a steamroller? I would suggest... never watching TV... ever again until you're less dead-like. I remember someone had something like this going on and I had more advice for them... but now I forgot... so yeah SORRY 'BOUT THAT HOPE NO ONE MAKES YOU LAUGH AND IF THEY DO CALL ME AND I'LL INTAR-KILL THEM. TOTALLY. D:<

I got hit by a car in seventh grade, but I really lucked out and didn't get hurt that bad.

@ Tedie: Oh wow, that was really lucky for you. Where were you hit? How fast were they going? It was pretty terrifying for me cause I could tell for about a second or two before that I was going to get hit. How about you? I'm not sure if I will be able to use a crosswalk again. confused
I dunno, the food isn't that bad... at least it is free cheese_whine

Or was it like your mom hitting you by accident or something?
I had a friend who was on her bike and got hit by a car once. She said it jumped at her from behind a bush. She chipped a tooth. And some other stuff she never elaborated on.

I am (ok, my parents are) going to make him pay for hospital bills and fixing/replacing my bike, but it wasn't like he was being negligent, or talking on his cell phone or anything. The car jumped her from behind a bush?!? scary!

We didn't really have crosswalks where I was, so I was just kind of crossing the street, and this little cement gray car was just behind a little hill, and the lady wasn't wearing her glasses, and we went boom.
I don't really remember it. I just remember looking both ways, and then starting to cross the street, and then waking up in the ambulance all drugged up. I heard she was going like 45 or something. It's a freakin' miracle that I'm even alive. o-o

I heard shoulder blades are extremely hard to heal, namely because you cannot put them in casts and just the overall situation you are put into with them.

I'm glad you are ok and alive and all that <333333333333333333 @Druki: yeah, shoulder blades, and mostly ribs too, you can't really put a cast or anything on em, you just have to live with it for like 4 to 6 weeks while they heal. The problem comes if you don't breath deep enough because of the pain, you could get pneumonia. eek
