EvilSilverDragon: Jerred was considered by many to be like a bear, a teddy bear for the most part, but he was about to prove how he could a bull, too. Out of seemingly nowhere, he burst forward. Despite his large sizes and the sand, he ran as if he were on solid ground. Only about 12 seconds before the blow was firing to its target did he ball his fist up loosely and send a powerful upper cut in her direction. It wasn't aimed for the chin, but for the area right below the rib cage. He found it easier to knock the loving wind out of a person then to risk straight up knocking them out. It is harder to move your whole trunk out of the way then just your head.
Never once did his face change from a casual expression nor did he take a fighters stance per say. His fighting philosophy was about what he grew up on, water. Move like water, come like a tidal wave or the little waves that lap the shore, move and change as the water does and never let whats under the surface show in battle. He was also used to working on the sand, there was doubt that a farm girl would be used to it as he was.
By now almost all of the crew including Tracey was out there watching the fight, most had bets but all were on Jerred. They had all had their butts handed to them by the man and they knew what he was capable of, now they would see what Juli was able to do.
_Samourai_Butterfly_: Juliart was stunned at the large man's speed, even more so because she wasn't expecting him to charge so suddenly. She had hardly any time to react, so she did so without thinking, moving on sheer instinct. Her hands came down and caught the fist that flew at her with a loud slapping noise, grimacing as her feet slid backwards in the sands and she received the blow to her lower rib cage, though the force of said blow was severaly weakened from her defensive move and she focused on moving and ignored the sharp pain. Her hands moved and gripped Jerred's wrist and she swung her foot around to his the side of his right knee with as much force as she could muster, pushing his wrist left and away from her torso with her strength, though it didn't match that of Jerred. She was faster without her weighted boots, but this also meant that the force added by them was gone.
EvilSilverDragon: Jerred lifted his leg up so the strong calf muscels took the kick as his arm yanked back. If she held on, not only would she be pulled backwards, but it would be harder to dodge the kick. He used the momentum from her attempt on his knee to send his kick forward without putting much effort into. Again, the aim was the lower ribs and underneath them.
_Samourai_Butterfly_: Juliart's grip on his wrist had loosened as she pushed it away, but he kicked into an opening, slamming into her lower ribs. She reeled backwards, momentarily out of breath and holding her middle with one arm, stumbling slightly in the sands. She fell to one knee and grimaced, getting her wind back quickly. She forced herself up, surging to her feet, ready to attack again. She focused soley on Jerred's body, keeping tabs on his fists and feet. She had to find an opening, dodge until she could land a good solid hit...
EvilSilverDragon: Jerred kicked again, however, this time he scent a good sized amount of grany sand flying at Juli as well as a side kick, flowing in a circle that sent him turning to the side leaving his core defended by his arm.
_Samourai_Butterfly_: Juli's arm came up and caught the powerful kick with her forearm, turning her head away from the flying sand. She pushed off of the ground and spun away from her opponent in to opposite direction, stopping to face him. She grit her teeth and charged, ducking down and sweeping her strong leg in a circle to catch his ankles and knock him off balance.
EvilSilverDragon: Jerred's stance, feet shoulder width apart saved him from being knocked off his feet. His one ankle got hurt worse then the other. Pulling the worst hurt ankle up he immediatly went to attack again, a fist aiming for her chin as the other one rounded around to go for her shoulder. This killed his balance and he fell backwards after putting a lot into those blows.
_Samourai_Butterfly_: Juliart snapped her foot back underneath of her and crouched to recover from the failed sweep attack, eyes going wide as she saw the fists flying at her. Her arm came up to block the blow to her chin, but she cried out involuntarily at the impact to her shoulder, falling backwards into a somersault and crouching in the sands, almost like a wild animal, on all fours. She panted from the effort she was giving, her shoulder and middle burning, but she wasn't done yet. Oh no...she couldn't give up yet. With a grunt she pushed herself forward once more, sand flying up behind her as she charged. She faked a left jab towards his chin and spun around his left side, swiping her right fist upwards to hit him in the side of the head. Juli continued her spin to come around behind him and back away, hopefully out of retaliation distance.

Jerred had a surprise for her, its called catching the fist. Prepared to take the jab anyway, he paid no mind to it, instead he reached out with quick reflexes to grab the fist that tried to hit him. Should he get it, she was in trouble, a tight sqeeze and a short flight were in store for her, it wouldn't be the water he threw her either.

Juliart wasn't exactly sure what happened. Her fist seared with pain and suddenly she was lifted into the air with a startled, "Ack!" She flew a several feet and landed on her back on the sand, which suddenly seemed much harder than it did while walking on it. The air was pushed forcefully out of her lungs with an "Oof!" And she lay stunned, her eyes narrowing and a small groan leaving her lips. "That...un hurt." She muttered, gripping her chest as she rolled over and coughed, struggling to her feet. She had to stay up...couldn't...stop...she couldn't show her weakness...

Jerred goaded her on by stating with a big grin, "Aw, it was supposed to tickle." He was playing unfair and rude, but there were real fights like that so he was going to test her against them.
Not giving her a moment more to so much as catch her breath, he rushed at her again, a fist soaring towards her cheek with a lot of force.
Tracey watched on, his icey expression not betraying what he thought of the fight. Trully, he wanted to call it off, to say Jerred had made his point, but it would do Juli no favors besides sparing a little bit of pain. The cheering crew would not respect her if he stepped in to save her.

Juliart glowered and made to move in another attack, but her blue eyes went wide in shock and she didn't have any time to react or move out of the way. The large fist collided with her face and the pain and bright lights exploded within her head. She flew backwards, tumbling down onto the sands as her body went limp and a darkness washed over her, blanking out anything as she lost consciousness. Her cheek was bruised and bleeding, and beginning to swell, and she didn't look as if she would be able to rise any time soon. The hit had been solid and at full force, and she stood no chance against it.

Jerred immediately tensed down and walked over to the limp young woman. He was proud of her, she put up a good fight. With gentleness that would be extremely surprising to anyone who had seen the fight but not how Jerred was, he lifted the unconscious woman and cradled her in his arms where she was safe and protected. Making his way back to the ship, he made eye contact with Tracey for a moment before looking away. The captain was not happy, and he could actually see it. This, he reflected, was an improvement to see emotion in the captain's eyes of ice.
One he made his way through the parted silent crowd; he brought Juli to her room and was careful to lay her in her sleeping space. Another crew member came and started to treat her wounds with ice and a cloth soaked with cool water, salt to cleanse the wound.
Tracey watched on, commanding the other crew to be elsewhere as he stood in the door way. Just because he didn't show it on the outside didn't mean there was not a large amount of concern for Juli. He normally didn’t stay long to watch over the hurt crew member, just long enough to know they would survive. Yet this time, he was waiting longer, watching to see her regain consciousness, he knew she would be fine once she woke, but he wanted to be there when she did.

Juli groaned softly, "Oowwwww..." She groaned out, rolling her head slightly, "Ma? I'll git up ta feed the chick'ns in a minute...'m tired..." She muttered, shifting in Jerred's arms. Her body was aching and she wasn't quite sure where she was. Half of her face felt like it was on fire and her ribs felt like they were compressed. "Hmn...Cap'n Tracey?" One eye fluttered open, the other swollen to a slit. "Jerred..." She looked up at the big man and blinked slowly as she remembered what had happened, "Owww." She finished, closing her eyes again. "b*****d." She muttered, though of course she didn't mean it. "Don' yeh know not tah hit a girl?"

Jerred smiled warmly at her and let her talk, when she was done, he spoke softly to her, "He's here, Captain's watchin’ over you. That fight nearly got me demoted, missy." He was mostly teasing and joking about the last part, Tracey wasn't vindictive and wasn't married to Juli, but he certainly wasn't happy with him right now.
Moving on from that thought, he tells her, "Yah, my Ma did, but most other sailors and pirates don't listen to their Ma's. You did well, Juli, much tougher than I expected. You'll turn into a force to be reckoned with in no time." He continued to praise on honestly.
Tracey stayed by, watching Juli, warm waves of deep concern still bottled up within him. He wouldn't move or say anything with others in the room. Instead, he'd be there, it was the most he could truly and comfortably do.

Juliart was surprised that Jerred said the Captain was there, but chuckled at the first mate. "Ah, well, I do try tah not be a lady as oftin as I kin." She said, pulling herself up a bit to look over at the Captain, smiling warmly, "I 'ope I didn' make too much of a fool 'o mehself. Bet I look a mess." She said, chuckling, though she lay back, "Oww...et 'urts tah laugh..." She thought about what Jerred had said about nearly getting demoted, and the Captain being there watching over her. Her smile was soft then as she lay back and rested. She looked back to Tracey again, "Thank yeh." She finished, before her eyes became heavy and she let herself rest, knowing she was going to be sore for a while.

Jerred chuckled a bit with her, shaking his head when she thought she looked a mess. He told her softly, "You look like every greenhorn to come acrossed me in a fight, don't let any of those of those salty dogs say different. I'll remind 'em" He gave a broad grin but that fell into a sympatric one when she said it hurt to laugh. He was rough on her, but the first lesson was always what a hit truly felt like, pain was the best teacher for it.
Tracey didn't smile but he did nod when she said thank you. As she fell as asleep, he motioned the others out of the room, lingering to spend some time alone with her. She looked asleep, so he didn't expect her to be able to hear him, "You stood up well, you've earned the rest." He stepped forward, just to brush a few stray strands of hair from her battered face before turning and leaving the room, closing the door behind him as he left for his own cabin and more planning to catch up with the red-eyed man.

Juliart wasn't sure if she was dreaming or not. "You stood up well, you've earned the rest." That voice was so soft yet strong...the voice of her Captain. He was praising her? Then there was that feather light touch. When it was gone her skin tingled where it had been, and she almost wished for him to do it again. However the exertion from earlier left her drained, and she slipped into a deeper sleep.
