Any insane grammar freaks?

So I'm lookin into the Writer's forum, and I happen to notice this little thread. It's not my usual patrol, but the title calls me in.

I'm not sure if I want to cry or to laugh my a** off. Here's a few samples:
(Things in red are what I highlighted, just to clarify)
x3 Bunny
Okay yeah, I'm a grammar freak. And a spelling freak. I always correct my friends and laugh at them when they spell things wrong. lol. I feel so bad. Everybody says I'm really good at writing, too.

I don't need to explain this.
Grand_Commander13
(I mean, that's what the "Edit Post" function is for, right?). I probably make a few habitual errors, but unlike some people, I actually care.

Question mark-parenthesis-period. Either question mark or perod, not both. Admittably, though, this is rule not too many actually know the specifics to.
Itana
I'm big on grammar, and I'm constantly correcting my friends. I don't even have to think about it, it's automatic... XD I also like big words... like indefatigable... but my pet peeve is when people try to use big words without knowing the definition.

Double strike! horrlibly long run-on sentence and "XD" right in the middle...
XanyKaos
I'm a bit of a grammar nazi, but apparently, because of my love for slang, I'm some kind of off-shoot heratic or something. But my best friend is an English major and the two of us are in love with the English language (and most other languages). We'll end up having long involved conversations about how a certain word can be used and what part of speech it is under what circumstances...'cuz we're dorks.
I'm personally in love with the semi-colon. Such a pretty little piece of punctuation.

So in love with it that you don't realize that it's one ******** word, not two hyphenated together. And to boot you misspelled heretic and started a sentece with 'but'.

And the best for last:
jazine15
I am one but not on the net. Usually i correct my friends allot on their grammer and spelling when i am the one that really needs it.

Aagh! My eyes! No capitalized 'I's, "allot" (a misspelling of a misspelling, no less!) and 'grammar' with an 'e'! Aahh!

That's all there was at the time I posted this.
There's one other person in there, but she makes it clear English isn't her main language, so she's okay.

Have fun as you like.

Oh ho ho.

I got into an argument with a girl in the writer's forum awhile back. The said girl continuously flamed me for spelling grammar with an 'a'.

Oh, oh, oh!

I know this has been mentioned countless times in here and everywhere, but I can't restrain myself from repeating it anyway. The WORST is when somebody is CONVINCED that they are a Grammer Queen, a Grammer King, or a Grammer Freak and insist that grammar is spelled their way. Which, of course, it is not - and... and... well, it's just annoying. eek

I've been down that road before. Back in March or so, I was on the American Idol message boards (for shame, I know) and I started an "English nitpicking" thread. In it, I mentioned the old "periods and commas go inside the quotation marks" rule, which was immediately contended. Oddly, about twenty-eight out of thirty people also insisted that they go outside (which is wrong). Of the two who agreed with me, one was an English professor and the other was an editor. Even after providing comprehensive evidence that the rule is correct, most users would still insist on writing incorrectly--on purpose.

I wish I had saved that message, but the moderators there eventually deleted it (darn it).

Oh god, that's annoying. That is probably one of my worst pet peeves!

I hate this:

I am happy(I'm having a good day!)!

If you're going to use parentheses, use them correctly. What's sad is they think it is right.

Is this a new theme, or something?

Here's another thread on the subject, but this one seems to be defending idiots who can't speak.

He says he hates Grammar Nazis, but he obviously doesn't know us. o.O

"you ever think some people dont know much english? so if they type wrong, wanna call them a dyslexic monkey? sure why not! its all the same! or so thats how you put it. someone has a bad keyboard... DYSLEXIC MONKEY! someone is typing in the dark... damn dyslexic monkey"

The last time I checked, we have in the FUQ that we don't discriminate against people who don't speak English as a first language. If they haven't mastered it yet, it's not their fault. As for his other two excuses, he can ********' suck me. I've got a bad keyboard and I'm typing in the dark right now. I'm dealing with it. o.O

My teacher and I got in a huge fight about whether to spell it "semi-colon" or "semicolon."
He likes the hyphen to give it that olde tyme flare from yesteryear, so it's my habit to hyphenate it. 3nodding

Makes me glad I tend to use faces towards the outside of my sentences. confused

Besides, parentheses errors are small. You don't need to type like perfectly. I probably make a few of those above-stated errors, someway, somehow. D:
