Fupa was running. Running from what? She couldn't quite remember at this point. Her mind was only telling her to run, run, run! Her paws listened, and they carried her far. Much futher then she ever would have tried had she not feared for her life. But as all things are, the adrenaline would run out, the fatigue would set in, and the body would cry out in pain. As it did now.
"Aaahhh!" The white hyena slowed to a stop, gasping in pain. Her paws were bleeding, the pads cracked and letting the thick, red liquid stream out. She didn't have the energy to clean them, only let them clot as she flopped where she was to rest. She prayed with all her heart that no one would find her, gasping between even her own thoughts. Her eyes slowly fell shut, as if she would fall asleep. She was too sore to sleep, but oh, how she might try.
The memories of why she had run slowly began to return to her. She had wandered much too far after parting with Xemnas. She was terrible with directions, but her heart should of known better to lead her back to her old pack. Especially when they were all awake. Oh, the pain of seeing them again, even though some of them had grown older, others died. The ones that remembered her were there. They attacked her, all at once. Tortured her for a time before she managed to run away. And running was all she had done since then.

Barafu had left her sister and her daughters for a bit, as she felt like she needed to rethink her own life for a while. The two of them had met together, under not the best circumstances, but worked it out together. But what should they do now? She knew that her father would be out hunting for her, or at least send males this time to find the pair of them. Would they be better off seperate? Or should they stick together as a group, hopefully when Zuri's daughters were older, and defend themselves? She knew it wasn't possible now, not with how upset Zuri was with her missing orange daughter. No one knew where she had wandered off to, but they couldn't search for her forever. They had to keep moving.
But where? Bara didn't have a clue. And there was another choice for her to make. Should she return home? She knew that she would risk death, unless she would be able to overthrow her father and his supporters. How many supporters were there? Too many when she ran away.
Her mind was wandering when she happened to trip on something. She winced, glancing at her paw to make sure it was okay. When she saw that she had bits of blood on it, she glanced back to see just what was so sharp. That was when she noticed the bleeding hyena behind her.

Fupa's mind awoke, but she barely opened her eyes. Oooh, how she just couldn't open them, they were heavier then anything she knew. Probably even and elephant. She had assumed that the feeling in her back was just a muscle twitch. It must be, from all that running, and the strain. And it probably didn't help that she just stopped moving without letting her body cool down. Hopefully it wouldn't cripple her.
She whimpered a bit before curling up even tighter in herself. Little did she knew that the blue lioness was still eyeing her, even taking a very close look at her wounds. All the hyena cared about was staying asleep for a long time. She would deal with her wounds when she awoke, and then figure out what to do with the mess that was herself.
Another twitch this time, around her paw pad, made her wince, though. "Ouch." She peeked her eyes open just a little more this time, hoping that it was just a bug to shoo away, when she saw the blue lioness' face right near her paw.

Bara's expression changed when she had seen the hyena see her. And it changed again once she saw the white-faced fear that was in her eyes. Well, that wouldn't work good for this hyena. Bara could tell that something had happened to her, and something was wrong, but if this hyena tried to pull anything, she would probably injure herself before hurting Bara.
"Shhh," the lioness said, putting a paw on her side gently. She didn't know if it would make things worse or not, but if she didn't put any weight on it, it would be a simple matter to draw it back to her own body if she needed to. She could feel the hyena shaking like a leave in the wind, though. Not a smooth wind.
"Please, I mean no harm." She shifted her paw around the hyena's side, emulating the gentle grooming of a mother. The sensation did little to affect they hyena though. Strange, it always seemed to work, why was it not with this hyena? Was she literally that terrified?

Tears began to form in the corners of Fupa's eyes when her mind registered the strange being as a lion. No, no. She gasped and drew herself even closer, her body tense, but shaking uncontrollably. Not now, no. She didn't want to die. Why did she have to crash here, out in the open? Why didn't she look for some cover, something to hide under? Her foolish mistake would be the death of her, she knew it.
Now it was touching her! Why was it doing that? Did it want to torture her before she died? Torture her like her ex-pack did? Why did the world love to torture one another? Her ears twitched when the soft words hit them. No harm? Then why was it here? Why couldn't it just leave her alone? Why?
Answers that no one could answer, for most of them were questions with no answers. Or there were no need for answers, because they were not valid questions at this lioness. Fupa only needed to open her eyes, her heart, and her mouth to find the answers.
"N-no..."

Bara's face fell when she heard the hyena deny her. She wouldn't give up. She would not let a 'lesser being' die in front of her, not if she truely tried her best. She would not be like her father, not like the name that he had given her. Everyone deserved to live, whether they were below lions or not.
"I promise. Please." She gingerly pushed the head of the hyena, hopeful that she would open her eyes again. She withdrew herself for a moment, thinking that it might work. A different approach? Maybe she was invading on her personal space, and would come to her if Bara gave they hyena some air.
"Who hurt you?" She prayed that it wasn't lions. What was happening with her race lately? She knew about her pride, but was it really true? Was every other race put down so harshly?

Fupa's head grew light when the lioness ndged her head. What was that? Her mind was trying so hard to figure out just what the lioness did that it just stopped working for a moment. And within that moment, her fear began to dissolve away. Granted, there was still some there, but Fupa couldn't tell if it was from the incidents of the other day, or from the lioness that was in front of her.
A lioness. Fupa should have noticed earlier. She had seen, and remembered, that females usually were not so quick to kill like males. Hunters or not, they seemed...almost kind. She remembered Nkechi, the little cub that she had come across, both scared withless with one another. Her muscles relaxed themselves, but she still shook uncontrollably.
"M-m-my...my old..p-pack..." she studdered through her words, the shaking not letting her speak properly. She wiggled a bit further from the lioness, wanting to keep her space. She had no proof that this lioness really was being kind to her to be kind. What if she was plotting to do something to her?

Bara's eyebrow popped up as soon as she heard the other spoke. Such a soft, young voice...was she really an adult? She listened intently, keeping herself where she was so she wouldn't set the heyna off on another fit of tears and shaking. Somethingwas very wrong with this hyena, and her heart ached for her. Such a strange feeling, towards another race. It felt so foreign, but also so true.
"Well, they are your old pack. Focus on the old and move onto the new." Her simple words might not be comforting, but they were of truth. She kept where she was, her teal eyes examining all the sores that covered her body. Well, it was certain that she wasn't wanted there anymore. And with her so injured, she would be unable to take care of herself well, if at all.

Fupa's expression changed to one of a bit of shock once her mind registered what the lioness had said to her. Just, move on? So simply as that? She stood there, feeling hurt, as if abandoned. Maybe this lioness wasn't her savior. Things were never as sweet as they were in your imagination, right?
The hyena didn't have the energy to answer, but she didn't really want to answer either. Her shivering was calming down, but she still curled up a bit tighter when the realization hit her. She had lost Kucha, parted ways with Xemnas. Who else did she know? No one. So what future was there for her to look forward to? Nothing but that aimless wandering and loneliness. And now that she had tasted otherwise, she wanted to part of it again. But what to do?

The blue lioness was disappointed that the hyena didn't say anything. Did she not want to continue on with her life, but live in the past? Not that Bara did much better, but she always encouraged to move on and start anew. Now, what her sister did certainly wasn't what she suggested, but that was something that she picked on her own. Bara would never understand it, but loved her little nieces regardless.
"Do you not have a place to go? To at least heal?" Perhaps that was the reason that she didn't speak. The lioness sat herself down now, where she was, intent to not go anywhere until at least this hyena made her decision. "I promise, I will not harm you."

Fupa's tail brushed the ground beside her, thinking about what the lioness said. No, she didn't have a place to go. She knew this. But did it matter? Not really. Her shivvering suddenly stopped, but the hyena hadn't realized it, as she was too wrapped up in her thoughts. Could she trust this stranger to take care of her? Well, she hadn't killed her yet, so there was that in favor of her. Plus she would probably die out here anyway. What would she eat while she couldn't run? Nothing, since she needed her pads to heal.
"No...I...I d-don't," she whispered, barey audible over their breathing. Her red eyes glanced up at the lioness, peeking at her teal-coloured eyes for a moment. They seemed so soft and full of caring. Wasn't she told that they were the path into the soul? Fupa's training soon grapsed her heart, and she felt terrible for hurting the lioness by being so scared. But she couldn't help it.

There. Now the two of them were getting somewhere. Bara just needed to get the hyena to talk a little more, and perhaps then they would figure something out, together.
"Alright," she started slowly, hoping to try and not sound so blunt. It was something that she coudln't help but do. She curled her tail around her forepaws for a moment while she thought. There were a handful of things that she could do, but she also needed to think about her family. She couldn't just leave them for a while to take care of a strange hyena. Bara was sure her sister wouldn't be feeling that.
"This will not sound pleasent, but come with me. I'll take care of you until you heal, and then you can do what you wish."

Fupa blinked at the offer. It was tempting but...but what? She had nothing to lose, why not? The hyena finally pulled her head away from her body to really get a look at the lioness. She nodded her head. "A-alright. I can't walk, though." She flushed after that, embarassed that she had run so far just to ruin her pads into a bloody mess.
The hyena glanced around, hoping that there was something around that could help her. Luckily enough, there was. "I-I'm sorry to ask but...c-could you get me some of those leaves over there? Enough to cover my paws. And that herb over by the little pile of stones should help stop the bleeding. They look like what gazelle eat, grain-like. Ummm..." She noticed that there was some stringy grass around her, she could tie the leaves to her feet to keep them clean enough until they were at wherever the lioness would take her to. "I think that should do it...?"

Bara nodded to the hyena, intrigued by what she was asking for but fetched them anyway. They were not far from where they were, and simple enough to gather. First, the leaves. It took a while to gather them, since the hyena had asked for enough to cover paws. Her paws? Perhaps. Bara had to carry them with her mouth, and she also did her best to not get them too damp with her saliva.
Next, the grain. This was odd to pick since lions were not build to put grassy things in their mouths. The leaves weren't as bad as the grain, since it was much more delicate than the leaves she managed to pick up. The grain had a tendancy to fall apart if she wasn't careful enough.
She laid everything down by the hyena, watching her work away at whatever it was she was doing. Was she...was she trained in the ways of a shaman? She seemed to know exactly what she was doing, improvising with whatever was around her.

Fupa snatched up the grain with her mouth, grounding it in her mouth before spitting it out on the ground. The mucky mixture was then wiped around on her forepaws, picking up the extra bits to wipe on her back paws. Thankfully they were not as bad as her forepaws, so she didn't need to grind up any more of the aweful tasting grain. She pulled at some of the grass with her teeth as she gathered up the leaves, letting the sticky mixture of the grain serve as glue to keep them on as she tried to wrap the grasses around to keep them on. It was very crude, but would serve it's purpose until they reached their destination.
"My name is Fupa'jinigutua, by the way. I...like Fupa though." She didn't look at the lioness as she mentioned this, but hoped that she would offer her own name in return. It would serve to make things easier, and it was also serving as a way to connect, instead of just saying as strangers.
