Yeah, I apparently can't get an apartment with roommates because none of the people in my area looking for roommates want to be living with a lesbian. I'm an extremely clean person and I don't smoke. I'm not a jerk. But because I'm gay that automatically means I will be attracted to any woman I see and make sexual advances. xDD Seriously though, looking for a roommate is sucking. I first of all need somebody who doesn't hate lesbians, then someone who also allows animals. >___> I think I'll be living at home forever as apartments are too expensive to rent on my own in this area.
So. Discuss: - Roommates: got one, want one, looking for one? - What would be an absolute deal-breaker? - Homophobia in the housing market. >__> - ETC.

I'm sorry to hear the area you live in is full of homophobes. sad
But if you happen to be looking for a place to live in Saskatchewan... XD, I doubt you're looking for a place in Saskatchewan, my house isn't near anything important -.-
My old class was full of Homophobes. They had a whole conversation about how being gay was unnatural and that gay and lesbian people immediately fell in love with everyone, therefore making them promiscuous. -.- Yet another reason why I moved classes.
I tried to explain them "No, there is nothing unnatural about being a gay or a lesbian". And they came back with "Well then you're gay."
Idiotic Homophobes. They're the worst kind.

I'm only in high school, so I'm not looking for a roommate yet xD An absolute deal breaker would be.. someone whose overweight, and not trying to lose those pounds. I don't like lazeh people >[
Like, last year, aaall the guys were soo homophobic, but now that we're in high school they've like, super duperly matured @ @

Wow, what high school did you go to? All the guys at my high school were jerks. >.<
But ********... I hate homophobes in general... Seriously, there's nothing wrong with being gay, it's not like you can control it or anything. >_>
Some people need to shut the ******** up about stuff they don't know about. That's what. >.<
Don't want to touch you but you're under my skin I want to taste you but your lips are venomous poison

In the courtyard, birds singingI would be your roommate!! If I could. emo
But on a serious note, homophobes suck. Nobody should judge anybody because of who or what they are. Try living in Staten Island, we're full of homophobes. That's why in the cities of New York it's better. Because people are so different and a lot of people don't judge. Through the window, bells ringing

I'd be your roommate, too! You sound like a great person to live with.
I don't know what the deal-breaker for me would be. Probably if I moved in with someone who said it was okay for me to have animals, but then I caught him or her being abusive to my pets. Something like that.

It seems that people cannot grasp the concept that gays and lesbians are people too. Not even a straight person is attracted to every member of the opposite sex that they see. >_>; But there will always be people out there that think, "Ewww! Gross! I don't want to live with a lesbian!" -sigh-
I'm still in high school so I don't have the need for a room-mate yet. Though if I did, I would totally move in with you. You sound like a cool person. :]
I agree with Sailor_Chibi about pets. I absolutely love animals. If I caught a roommate harming one of my pets, I would have to hold myself back from hurting that person. -.-"
Another thing, though, I would have to find a roommate that wouldn't mind nudity. I want to become a nudist someday. ninja A vegetarian nudist. xDD

Want to come live with me in Mexico? My parents wouldn't mind you at all.
Deal-breaker? idk. Somebody stupid or ignorant, methinks. Or somebody who continuously hosts loud, annoying parties full of drunk people. Oh! No smokers for me >.>
Homophobes should just go...jump off a building or something. And they truly piss me off. Once, I got uber mad at a classmate of mine.
You see, there's this band called Miranda!. And they are uberly awesome. So, once, in a break at school, we were sitting in the cafeteria watching MTV. We is a bunch of friends and myself. And the MTV news thingie comes on with something about Miranda! And I start to gush "Oh, I love that band! Have you heard that one song {blah, blah, blah}" And this idiot I was sitting next to looks at me and goes: {this is roughly translated, mind} "But...they are ******** faggots!" I stood up and was like "Their sexual preference has no influence on their music or singing. And if it does, than I'm going to go look up some more homosexual bands, cause this one is ******** awesome. Furthermore, if you are anything remotely close to a homophobe, I think I'm going to sit at another table" And he goes "I'm only a little homophobic, haha{stupid laughter}" And I got up and moved to another table. And all me friends got up and followed me, leaving him alooone! rofl rofl

I hate when people get all, "Omg you're gay so you'll try to hit on me!" Whenever people say that, I just tell them, "Don't flatter yourself."
Where do you live? I'd totally room with you if you were in my area. :D (Well, I'm still in high school but we have a spare bedroom.)Rawr-O-Saur It seems that people cannot grasp the concept that gays and lesbians are people too. Of course, it doesn't help that I live in a small 95% white town and the only gay guy who's open about it is a bit of a manslut. That b***h kept trying to put the moves on my straight ex-boyfriend when we were dating. mad He's still a cool gay man, though. heart
If I were a vegetarian nudist, I'd want to go all the way and just live in the woods. mad D

If I were a vegetarian nudist, I'd want to go all the way and just live in the woods. mad D First off, I live in Funky Town. wink aka Fort Worth, Texas. Secondly, I have heard that example before, about straight people thinking gays will hit on them. Such idiots, I swear. -.-" Only desperate morons or sluts do that. I think it would be more likely for a straight person to do that than opposed to someone who is gay or lesbian. A lot of straights are whores. :/ Then again, that is what I think and have witnessed. xD
I've always loved gay guys. They make the best friends. xD <3
I have thought about living out in the woods, but that would be a bit dramatic for me. We don't have any real woods around here anyway. ;/

Homophobes are loserssssssssssssssss. That suck, Vegan. You couldn't/wouldn't want to live with me. My dad scares everyone. xD (He's really not that bad, but all of my friends are scared of him!) Plus, moving out of your house into another house with parental units and brothers and such nonsense as that would kinda be like taking one step forward and two steps back.

Agreed. They annoy me, I mean, if they weren't so open about it, because everybody has people they don't like, but it's just weird. People like that are stoopid.

Man, if I was looking for a place/lived near you (I dunno where you live, but w/e), I'd so room with you. Like, honestly, what's the big deal? Just because you're a lesbian doesn't mean you'll hump every chick you live with. Geez... stupid people.
But yeah, the only "dealbreaker" I can really picture right now is... druggies in the house. I mean, I don't care if my roommate goes out and does that, that's their choice; but I don't want them to bring it back to where I am, 'cause I personally don't want to be anywhere near that. But, as for things like pets and smokers? I love all types of pets, and I smoke (only occasionally, and only outside) - so those don't bother me at all.
A vegetarian would be a definite pro; 'cause I hate it when there's meat in the house. So, I wouldn't say it would be a dealbreaker, but I'd rather not live with a meat-eater (which, I suppose is inevitable, since my fiance eats meat and I'm not about to try and change him - that's not my place). I liked having my own apartment, 'cause I knew everything in the kitchen was safe for me to eat. But, now I'm back home, and I have to check labels or poke through my food before I can eat anything. It'd be nice to not have to do that.
