Kiandra was wandering outside, feeling slightly depressed and lonely. It was a rare ocassion for her to feel this way, which made it all the worse. As she neared a nice big tree with loads of shade, she sat down underneath it and leaned up against the trunk. As she gazed out at the other students, and the scenery of the school grounds, she sighed.

Strolling over the grassy lawn, Dakota sighed. He was bored, and every single one of his friends had other engagements. 'It must be a conspiracy,' he thought to himself, grinning slightly. As he neared the lake, he noticed a younger student sitting in the shade of a large maple tree. Approaching her, he said, "Anybody sitting here?" He pointed at a patch of grass next to her, a friendly smile on his face.

Kiandra looked up at him and shook her head. "Nope" she then smiled slightly "My name is Kiandra."

Making himself comfortable in the shade of the tree, Dakota took a closer look at the girl. "Kiandra? Nice name. I haven't seen you before; is this your first year?" He crossed his arms loosely on top of his raised knees. "Oh! I'm Dakota, by the way." He grinned, and lifted his face to the gentle breeze, his eyes closing as he relaxed.

Kiandra nodded and smiled. "Yup, i'm a first year, Gryffindor. I also have a twin who is a first year...obviously..but she's in Slytherin." As Kiandra watched him, her smile grew even wider. The guy seemed really down to earth. "It's nice to meet you Dakota. So what year are you in?" she tilted her head and waited for his reply.

"Interesting..." Dakota's eyes lazily opened halfway and he glanced sideways at Kiandra. "Fourth year, Hufflepuff," was his simple reply. He sat silently for a moment, then remembered something. "Hey, do you like sweets?" He asked, reaching into his robes for the bag of Mexican Jumping Beans Mia had sent him the other day.

Kiandra nodded "I love sweets!" she giggled and smiled. "So, Dakota, how has your year been going for you so far?"

Lex ran out of the castle and felt the september wind on her face. It had been a stressful day, with classes being somewhat of a failure, and she needed to get out for a little bit. She strolled past hearing nothing but the warm breeze and the obnoxious flopping of her sandals (she never really liked the uniform mary janes, and had changed into flip flops at the end of classes) Lex was frustrated earlier because the quidditch pitch was temporarily prohibited, and she could not practice, but she felt much better now. she was reaching the descent of a hill and suddenly with great energy charged towards it. She got closer and closer and at last leaped and began to roll all the way down. Her momentum sped up and even after she reached the bottom she could not stop. Finally when she did, she broke into a fit of giggles. But Lex realized she was not alone when she glanced up to see a boy and girl not but five feet from her. Lex abruptly stopped laughing, stood up, and with her last bit of composure said, "Hi...I'm Lex Agen!.....Nice day, huh?"

Kiandra looked up at the girl and smiled a little. "Nice to meet you, my name is Kiandra." Normally Ki would be excited to meet a new face, but as of late she had been feeling slightly anti-social and so speaking with more than one person at a time was making her feel a little backed off. Though she felt comfortable speaking with Dakota, it might have been because he was a male.
