I saw Bodies: The Exhibition today. For anybody who hasn't heard of it, here's the official website. Anyways, it was SO amazing. I highly recommend it. The only thing that disappointed me was that there were only a few female bodies.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS AMAZING ADVENTURE: - They had a skinned person. Totally reminded me of one of the Hannibal books by Thomas Harris. -can't remember which- "Heyy mom, I really think we should get a leather couch now!" My mom totally wants to get leather couches which is not really cool with me as a vegan. Sitting and lounging on dead skin? Mmm. - "I'm reallyyy hungry now!" Yeah, I'm a vegan but it was amusing to be making off-color remarks throughout the exhibit. xDD - When we did see one of the female bodies, a little girl said, "I CAN TELL THIS ONE IS A WOMAN BECAUSE IT HAS HAIR....and LARGE BOOBIES." ....all of the bodies are hairless. xDD Then she said, "I THINK SHE WAS A SMOKER." ...and you couldn't see the lungs. xDD - There was an section on fetuses which was interesting because the pro-life movement always shows blown-up images & it really puts the size in perspective. But it had a big sign because it was "controversial." - Then, when reading through the guest books I found an entry reading, "THIS WAS SO COOL ESPECIALLY THE BABIES AND HOW GOD!!! MADE THEM.
Yeahh. So discuss, whatever. Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

T O X i C S A Y S : I wanted to see that sooo bad. :[ Morbid curiosity, i suppose. But i'd have had to drive an hour to get there, and through an area that's unfamiliar to me and VERY confusing, to go see it. Plus, i had no moneys.

Aw, I'm sorry! We had to drive an hour through D.C. to Virginia but it was worth it. And my mom drove and did all the batshit crazy driving while I came in and out of conciousness. It was soo expensive. I almost didn't go because of the cost. :[ Hopefully it will be nearby you in the future & you'll have the opportunity and moneys to go.

I'm going to see it on the 23rd with my AP Bio and Anatomy/Physiology classes. I'm really looking forward to it! whee We're getting a group discount, so it's only $12. 3nodding
It's gross, but still fascinating. I think we're also supposed to see a cadaver this year.

In the courtyard, birds singingI went about two years ago to the one in Manhattan. Because I live in Staten Island. Anyway, I loved it. Since I want to be a surgeon it was a great place to build knowlegde on.
Lawlz @ boobie part. It was a werid day because I saw my science teacher on the ferry. I was like O____O;;; Because he was the one that told us to go there. My friend thought he was stalking us.
