She drags soooooo badly throughout the entire show. She doesn't even know that she does this. The whole drumline get pissed because they have to follow her and it screws up our drill. Some of us can't make it to certain sets because we're too busy trying to keep up with her inconsistent time.

We're not allowed to complain directly to her but we've told our leaders about it. When they mention it to her she gets mad and doesn't think she's doing anything wrong. Ugh.

Has your DM ever been that difficult to deal with?

I've not had any problem with mine, but it's quite the opposite for us. Sometimes they can't keep us consistent.

My freshmen year, we had a DM who conducted 68/X time. o_o
We'd just have to follow drumline's beat and sit tight until the DMs switched.

Yeah... can't help there. Our DMs are really good. You always could drag even more and get the whole band to do it to prove a point.

We never let freshmen become drum majors.
They have to audition for it darn it.

We did that before. She just yelled at us and said that we weren't watching her/ following her. How ironic.

Easy. We just watch the other two.
We have three drum majors, and one of them didn't attend the drum major clinic (which you HAVE to attend if you want to be drum major) and hence can't conduct in time. Why she's still DM is a mystery to the band.

Well, we have two drum majors. If one is off, we look at the other one. If they are both behind, we listen to the drum line. (which sometimes doesnt help either XD).

our drum major can keep time so well its like eek eek
last year we had two drum majors, but this year we only have one since our teacher hasn't picked a junior drum major, and our only choice for junior drum major can't keep time.

but ya sometimes the percussion goes off on their own whenever we plat the school song and then our drum major sits there and goes "watch" "watch" over and over and its like why can't the percussion just watch, even if the drum major's wrong you still have to follow him/her that was the rule last year.

The only time ours don't keep time is when they're not together.

Or the time that our DM stopped conducting cause she spaced out...>.>

But we can't ever listen to the drumline OR the band...they're almost never with Jessica(DM) OR Joe(Asst. DM).

This year the band had two drum majors. One a senior and the other a junior. The senior is really good at being a drum Major(Also because he was assistant drum major his 11th and 10th grade years) The junior not so good. If she thinks the band is wrong she starts trying to make the band speed up which makes it seem like the band is off but she's normally the wrong one. Personally she shouldn't have been picked as drum Major.

My best friend Junior he was trying out for drum major and he is way better than her. Not only that he knows how to conduct. He is a beast. That is gonna be his carrer a band director I can already tell.

But yeah. one good one and one bad one. If The senior was just drum major by himself then there wouldn't be a problem.

It is just one of those things you have to deal with, I suppose. As our marching instructor always says, "The drum major is always right".

But, why aren't you allowed to bring your complaints to her?
