The tall grasses of the prairie licked at Ayden's black ears and he lay in their shelter. He let out a thick breath laced with a laugh from the ticklish sensation. He enjoyed his time in the plains far too much he sometimes thought. It wasn't his fault though. He had such pleasant memories of these fields. With a smile he pushed himself standing to look about at the seemingly endless waves of grass. At one point he could remember thinking that these grasses were magic water that trapped him, keeping him from returning home.
He chuckled at the fond memory before rearing back as if to wave at the sky. With a happy cry he lifted his back legs slightly and allowed himself to fall backwards into the thick grasses once again. "Why can't every place be like this?" He asked not only himself but the sky, the grass, the ground and the trees in the distance.

It was lovely out today. Perfect day to visit her family, though they happened to be MIA lately. She hated that. She was so close to her family.. But she never really saw them.
She never really saw anyone, even though the prairies were large and vasg and carried a multitude of plentiful foods and substances. She never understood why everyone didnt like living out with the sun and the grass blowing by the wind.
Swinging her chocolated coated tail, she looked to the sky.
When was the last time it had rained? She couldnt remember, but the sun didnt care. It still basked the world around it as if it was the only one around.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"How rude."

Ayden's ears flicked to the side and his face contorted in confusion. Had the grass answered? The grass was a girl? He had heard that the Earth was their mother over all but did that make the grass female? "I'm sorry..." He said a bit loudly trying to apologize to the vast extent of prairie all at once. "I didn't realize asking questions were rude! I thought I was paying you a compliment." He rolled over onto his stomach and did his best to rub his face against the tall yellow blades surrounding him in apology but they continued to bend away.
"Why are girls always so touchy?" He asked thinking that the grass was moving away because 'she' was mad. "I sad I was sorry why can't you just forgive and forget?" His lip jutted out in an adorable pout as he set his head on the ground glad that it wasn't made as well so he wouldn't find himself floating in the air uncomfortably high.

Mara's ears perked as she listened to teh other speak.
"I didnt hear you ask any questions.. So.. I dont know what you mean when you say questions are rude.."
She walked closer to the stallion, looking him over. He was a handsome fellow. With a black half that faded into a teal half, and each with their own color spots.
How odd. but how fascinating.
"And excuse you!" She said, turning a bit red at the thought of being touchy. Why! The nerve! She didnt even know this stallion. Nor did she know he was speaking to teh blades around him, and not to her.

Ayden's heart leaped from his chest and got stuck in his throat when he found a mare speaking in the grass' voice appeared above him. He choked as he tried to force out an apology but he was so startled his voice didn't want to work. Since when had plants been able to form horse forms to speak to others? "I...I'm sorry!" He stuttered out wide-eyed scrambling to his feet once again. "I didn't mean to offend you!" He said assuming that her flushed face meant she was pissed rather then embarrassed or overheating. "I didn't think you'd be able to take form like that..."
His ears were pinned back in fear as he pawed nervously at the ground. If the grass was so powerful to take form he didn't want to know what kind of horrors it could unleash on his grounded body. "If I can make it up to you grass-lady I will!"

...Grass lady?
Mara was deeply confused and her brows knit together as she looked at the stallion before her. What was a grass lady? Surely he didnt mean herself.. Why, she looked nothing like the grass!
"I dont know what a grass lady is, but it isnt very nice to call a mare a grass lady."
Well, if she didnt know what it was, whose to say it wasnt an insult? So she took it as one, and spoke to him as such.
"I am not made of grass, nor do I look like anything grassy. I demand an explaination."
She wasnt really angry, moreso that she was just.. Oh man was she confused.

Ayden tilted his head to the side in utter wonderment and confusion. "You mean...you're not the grass coming after me?" He asked slowly letting his head turn back to it's normal position. He paused for a moment letting himself stare into space as he tried to pull everything together. She didn't know what he meant by grass lady and she wasn't made up of grass. That meant she was just a normal mare! With a loud shout of joy he leapt into the air and started bounding about having a little celebration party in his mind.
She wasn't the grass angry at him. She was just a normal mare. He had only insulted a normal mare. He froze mid-step as his golden eyes widened. He had just insulted a normal mare...
"Oh no!" He said turning about to look at her hoping she wasn't to angry with him. "I'm so sorry! I...I thought you were someone...well something else! None of that was meant to you, I thought you were really powerful for a second is all!" Stopping at a good point had never been a skill of his.

This had to be, by far, the oddest stallion she had ever met. Why! He acted like a foal still.. But shaking her head, she looked at him.
Before she could speak, he jumped up and danced around a bit, and she backed away only slightly, as if afraid she would be run into. She was so confused. What was he dancing about when only moments ago he had been terrified of her? Was something she said soothing to him?
If so.. What?
"No, Im not made of grass.. Nor do I know what a.. Grass lady is.."
Looking at him once more, as he apologized, she couldnt help but smile. "Dont worry about it. No harm done."

Ayden cocked his head to the side and furrowed his brows in concentration. He really wasn't thinking so hard that he would need to move in anyway but he found it added to the effect if he looked like he was deep in thought. "Well...since you aren't made of grass then..." He lifted his head gave her one long look then began to grin like an idiot. "I don't know what a grass lady is either then! If I find out I'll be sure to tell you though."
Acting as though the whole thing had been forgotten, after all she said not to worry, he pranced over to her. "So what're you doing out here?" He asked his grin fading to a lopsided smile he'd inherited from his father. He'd been resting in the grass but she'd been standing, you could rest well standing, could you?

"Apparently meeting up with stallions who think grass mares are walking the earth." She teased him, smiling.
Tossing back her mane, she looked to the grass, then back up at him. There was surely no such think as a grass mare. Maybe one COLORED like grass..
but not a mare made up of grass.. Right?
[Omg, that would be teh perfect custom, and I would so make him meet her XD]

"There are others who said there were grass mares?!" He asked going wide eyed and rigid. That meant they were real! That meant they probably heard him and were probably coming after him. He paused for a moment then started laughing. "I get it! You meant me didn't you? I'm Ayden by the way." He bowed his head slightly not caring that he seemed a bit silly bowing, it was fun. "Who are you?"

She laughed and shook her head in astonishment. Well he was quite the character.
"My name is Marahute. But my friends call me Mara, Ayden. I can give you that liberty too. Marahute is a mouthful." She smiled and flicked her tail.
"What are you doing laying in the grass, and talking.. to it for?"

"Marahute...Mara." He repeated committing the name to his memory for there was nothing worse then recognizing some one's face but not knowing what to call them. "Well, I was laying in it cause the grass is very comfy, nice and soft. I only started talking to it cause I heard you saying something about being rude and I thought the grass was calling me rude." He started laughing at himself light heartedly. He had been very silly to think that the grass was talking to him and he knew it. It made a great story though, he'd have to remember it. "Silly right?" He asked as his laughter died down to just an occasional chuckle.

The grass? Calling him rude? Well it was silly indeed, but Marahute found silly refreshing. She gave a soft smile and shook her head.
"Silly yes. But not overdone. You couldn't help what you thought.. Though Id try to keep in mind that inanimate objects cannot call you rude, my friend."
She said, and giggled slightly.
