I'm not really sure if this one belongs here or not and if it doesn't, I very much apologize. When I was 10, we moved into this nice, well sized house. I liked it originally because it had enough rooms for me to have a playroom. Well, before we moved in, we needed to do some touch ups on the inside of the house.
This, I think, is when it started happening. Since I was so young, my parents had me help out by painting small areas like the closets. Due to this, I was by myself quite a bit. After a short time, I kept getting the feeling that something was following me...watching me. I dismissed it at the time because I realized that things might be a little creepy because there was nothing in the house yet.
So, we finally move in. My room was one of the larger rooms. It had two doors, one that went out into the hallway and one that went into the dining room, and two rather large side by side windows. The feeling of being followed and watched kept getting stronger and stronger. It got to the point where I kept both doors shut and very thick curtains over the windows at all times.
The back rooms (one had my playroom and the other branched off of it with no door) were odd as well. My playroom was always cold, no matter what. I would always, and I mean always, play in my playroom with my back either right up against the wall or inches from it. The adjoining room always just felt...odd, especially around the basement door and stairs (but not in the basement).
And then there were the nightmares. I rarely went a night without one in that house. They just kept getting worse. I tried hanging a dream catcher, but it didn't work...actually made it feel like things got trapped inside my room instead. One of my cousins suggested sleeping with a Bible under my pillow. I tried it and it helped immensely. I also got two kittens that would sleep in my room with me. I still felt followed and watched intensely, but the nightmares happened much less.
After a while, I took my Bible out from under my pillow (partly because mom asked me why it was under there) and my kittens had been given away. I had a cat still, but it was an outdoor cat. The feelings got worse...the nightmares slowly started to return. The feelings even started to extend out into the back yard. It didn't help much with what I found under my window one day. I won't go into detail as it may turn someones stomach (I will if asked, however), but it was a small dead kitten that hadn't died of natural causes.
We eventually moved out and all was more or less peaceful, or so I thought. A few months to a year at most, I felt a familiar feeling. I started having nightmares again. The feelings got bad sometimes, but wasn't as bad as they had been. I had dolls displayed in my room, however, and every night I would turn them around to face away from me. My mom thought it odd behavior for a, then, earlier high schooler, but just went with it.
After a few years, we move again, and again the same thing happens. This last time that we've moved the nightmares haven't returned, but the feelings have. It's also spread. I feel it in my car...at my boyfriend's house...I also felt it at my, now, former workplace. I've already turned what displayed dolls I have around like before once or twice.
They don't bother me now, but I keep catching myself giving them a sidelong look sometime. The feeling of being watched isn't coming from them, but I guess, in my mind, since they have eyes they're the first possible cause even though they aren't. It's not a different feeling every house...it's the exact same. As weird as it may sound, I think whatever was in that one house has been following me.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on? Questions are welcome.

I think this spirit is watching you becuase it has known you in a past life of yours. It's soul hasn't found it's new self yet or it's new self hasn't been created yet. As it has worked so hard to keep with you I imagine it was a great friend, lover or someone looking for revenge... let's just say that I hope for you that it was a friend. PM me for any more theories or such...

Hmm...that theory does worry me slightly. I don't know why I didn't put it in the previous post, but it's never been a positive feeling I get. It can get quite scary, actually, if it gets intense enough. It's not always too bad, though. Like right now I just kinda feel like something is just kind of watching me. I have quite often went running into my room because I suddenly get a very strong feeling of something about to rush at me. That one seems to be a popular one since moving out of that house. I'm just glad that, so far, nowhere has it been as strong as it was at that house.

Could you please put some breaks in your post. There's nothing really wrong with it but it's very hard to read in one chunk.
One thing I would say would be this, if the dolls give you the shivers then get rid of them. A lot of people on here don't like dolls and I know even more in real life that can't stand them so the not an uncommon thing.
If it started when you were small it's most likely a spirit you've picked up from there. Getting in touch with a local Spiritual Church or Psychic and ask them to help you out. They might be able to give you more insight to your follower.

Yeah, sorry about the lack of spaces in there. It's been fixed. I honestly don't know why I didn't fix it before.
The dolls don't bother me anymore. I think what it actually was was whatever it is happened to be over there. I do tend to have things like that in the "central focal point" of my room, so that one's probably my fault.
If it starts to get really bad again like it was in that first house, I may try a psychic, I dunno.
Now that I've gone back over my post (while I was putting some spacing in there) it reminded me of something. About a week and a half ago, I had one of my cats staying in my room because we got her fixed. Thinking that she would probably like to have a window to sit in front of and look outside, I raised my blinds. As soon as I did that, she started growling and was looking at the window. It kind of freaked me out that she did that, so I quickly put the blinds back down. When I did, she stopped growling, but still looked at the window for just a few seconds more even though I had moved.
I don't know if she saw something I didn't, but I remember reading that animals are really good at picking up stuff that we may not.

Woah...craziness. One of my music box dolls that's waaaaaay on the top of my shelf in my room played two or three notes of the song she plays without being touched or bumped or me even being physically in the room (I was passing by the doorway or about to approach it...I can't remember). I looked at the doll and, sure enough, her head had moved (she moves when she plays music). Normally, I would chalk it up to it just didn't finish unwinding when I turn the key in her back, but I haven't even touched her in a year almost.
Come to think of it, she's done that once before with me nowhere near her. It was in the house we moved to after the first house I mentioned in my first post. The one where I was turning my dolls around. I'm not freaked out, it was just a little weird. I know it's not the dolls giving me that feeling. I'm sitting with my back almost towards them (off to my right) and the feeling of someone watching me is coming from the door which is closed (behind me off to my left though the feeling is a lot closer than the door).

It sounds like something linked to you now or more likely your past like Lily Luna said. I had that feeling at the house I lived in from the time I was 6 to like 15, but eventually as I got older and more acknoledging(sorry spelling is horrible) of it it kinda went away for me and turned out to be a young girl who died in the house in the early part of the 20th century(house was from the early 20th century) but it helped me to show her that I knew she was there and to leave me the hell alone.
Normal if you say "What in "god's"(your god actually god something you can turn to as your god) name do you want" they are compeled to tell you or show you normal, or easyer I always told her "In the name of "god" leave me alone." and she'd leave.
But you could try a psychic or even a cleansing on the house to purify it because it could help(maybe) if you don't want it there is you(this is me speaking from a wiccan point area) if you would get someone to put a barrier(like a circle or something along that line) around where you live you could determain what kind of spirit is allowed to cross those lines and most that are there for harm will leave after a cleansing....this is just me speaking because I had to do that with my guide and my mother on the house me and my mom live in because we couldn't go into our basement without feeling watched and not wanted, it was most likely me whatever was down there really didn't like me. Sorry I know its long but something may help if you ever wanna talk about anything that happens PM I've been through most of it before I was 10.

Thanks for the suggestions. Next time the feeling gets strong, I'll try asking it to leave me alone or ask it what it wants. For some reason, I want to keep calling it him. I've got a strange feeling it may be male, but I'm not 100%.
Just thought of something interesting, though. The room that was next to my playroom that I mentioned in the first entry had some paintings in a kind of large cubby hole. My Dad was going through them and I saw one I really liked. He told me I could have it, so, I believe, I hung it in my room. All the crazy feelings and nightmares started before that, so it's not the painting. However, I DID have it on my wall in the next house where the nightmares got bad again and I do still own it, though I'm not sure where it is after we moved about a year ago.
That room did have a slightly different feel to it. It's like this strong feeling of intrigue filled me when I went into the room. Of course, that could just be my curious nature taking over since there were still things on the shelves that were built onto the wall in there *shrugs*.

Well its not certain that it is connected to that painting but it maybe that it is making it easyer for the spirit or whatever to keep to you. Maybe find it and hang it again(I know maybe scary idea but it may work) if things get bad again the painting maybe a link to the spirit of how it is getting to you. If it does get worse with the painting try having it blessed by a preist or someone from a religous figure(now it only works if you want it to so remember have faith even if its not your particular religon).
Do you mind me asking whats on the painting? Is it more like a landscape, people, houses? Or how old does it seem to be?(I know I'm asking alot of questions but I'm curious and want to do my best to help you out)

Naw, it's not a lot of questions. I don't mind answering them ^_^. If I remember it correctly (since I haven't seen it, but maybe once in the past year), it's a painting of some flowers in a clear glass vase. I think it had a cup or something next to it maybe and it was sitting on a mirror that was on a table. It's painted in cool kind of steely blue colors except for the flowers. I believe they are pink carnations. I'm not sure how old it is, but it is signed. Someone called M. Marggot or something like that.
If I can find it again, I'll put it on my wall again and post a picture of it on here if y'all want. It's always kind of funky hanging the painting, though, because it doesn't have a frame other than the canvas framing.

Hm, doesn't sound like its anything suspitious, have you noticed anything weird with the painting? Like random spots that when you catch it out of the corner of your eye? Like discoloration that you know isn't there, like something move or anything that seems weird about it other than the feeling? If you find it take a digital camra and take a picture of it, load it up and look at it see if anything is weird like mist or something. If you don't mind me asking if you do find it and do get a picture may I see it? It may help alittle.

I can't think of anything that ever struck me as off about it. When the painting is in view, I do always find my attention is pulled towards the mirrored surface. Of course, having taken plenty of art classes, I know that that is pretty much normal seeing as how it's close to the center of the painting.
When I can find the painting, I will definitely put a picture up, oddness about the picture or not. Hopefully, it's in one of the closets and no one was a complete bonehead and put it in the shed >_<.

I know that feeling, I've taken plenty of art classed myself. But there may be a reason behind you being drawin to that mirror even if it is in the center area, it could be what is connecting something to you mirrors I've noticed some times with paintings tend to be an easy place for a spirit to collect...if that makes any sense. I honestly just don't like mirrors always have a bad feeling about them...though that stems from my childhood so its all good still freaks me out.
But that would be wonderful about the picture. It would be most interesting to see. With the painting are you more compeled to look at it or to shun away from it?

Oh, I'm definitely compelled to look at the painting. I've caught myself just staring at it before. It's such a simple painting, really. I don't know why I like it so much.
Oh, and I know what you mean about the whole feelings about mirrors, just to say, hehehe.

Like lost staring(like you didn't realize you were doing it) or just like looking? If you get what I mean by that. It could be possible(I'm most likely reaching alot here but alwell) it may be possible that at one point in a past life you knew the person that painted it very well and were very close to them, that they were possible family of some sorts,it also could be possible that it was a man who painted it, from the name you told me that you think it is its most likely not but he could have signed it depending on when it was painted it is not rare for men to have a femine name, that he possible was a lover in a past life and you left or possiblely died or maybe he left and is regreting it now ans trying to find you again, or maybe it was even you in a past like and you don't know about it.The last one is a hell of a streach the first three are more plossible. Like I said earlyer I'm just reaching there it could be anything really but I want to help all I can.
