This past friday was absolutely rediculous.
First of all, they usually try to make the friday before a long weekend easy and maybe let us out early (like an hour early). It was not easy, and I managed to get out 2 minutes early.
Second, the sanitary people who hose down the line tend to not DRY the lines and therefore screw up my line royally. I mean, I deal with rinds (hog skin) and when it gets wet, it gets sticky. When it gets sticky, it gets stuck. When it gets stuck, it piles up. When it piles up, it eventually gets enough pressure to ALL COME AT ONCE. scream
Now, this happens every morning, but friday was especially bad. Usually someone climbs up on a ladder and fixes the problem before it gets to bad. But no one really caught it at all and so when it came down, we were ********. Our whole little line was packed full of rinds so bad that it was all trying to fall on the ground (which would make it inedible and therefore we shouldn't let it fall) So the other option is to dump it into the little bin that I was beside. That filled fast and didn't make much of a dent to the pile.
Oh, did I forget to mention that just because we get an 'avalanche' that doesn't mean we get a break from the normal amount of rinds we continually get. So while we're trying to save all the rinds, we're also getting MORE.
AND our trainer, supervisor, and any other person with more authority than us WERE ALL AWOL FOR AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR. So we're trying to fix this thing without anyone to really tell us how and with nowhere to put the s**t. So finally our trainer comes and tells us we were doing everything all wrong and kicked me out of my spot because I had to go see someone (I injured myself a week earlier and they needed to finish the report) When I got back she promptly left and we didn't see her again until it was almost break. She cleaned up through break while we cooled off in the cafeteria.
She came around a few more times that day but never really helped us out. While we suffered for the rest of the day because the rinds never really went back to normal. mad
