Battleground Selection!
Randomizer...start!
The screen towering above the stadiums' bleachers began to rotate clockwise to determine what field the pokemon would fight on. Anticipation began to build as the dial began to slow down...
Finally, it came to a complete stop.
The field of choice was....THE WATER FIELD! Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

Battle....START!
The offical for the matched stepped up the plate, his blue-black uniform visual under the brilliant florenscent lights of the stadium. Clutching a flag in each hand, the young man glanced left and right before making the announcement to start. The deep voice echoed through the headset microphone and rang out from the stadium speakers.
"This is an offical stadium match! Each trainer may use only one pokemon each! There is no time limit! Are both trainers ready?"
At the confirming nods from both pokemon and trainer, he flicked both flags into the air; once both flags moved south, the battle could offically begin.

Inhaling a deep breath, Jen held it for a moment before letting it out slowly. Leaning against the railing of the red battle platform, she stared at the familiar scenery of the Battle Stadium. Below, Aeon stood on the floating platform nearest the red end of the field; excited, his ears twitched rapidly this way and that as a bright sparkle glimmered within bright-blue eyes.
"Alright then, ready for another battle?" The trainer stared down at her friend as he glanced up and nodded, tail waving back and forth.
"Okay then!" Pushing against the railing, she straightened and stood with her hand on her hip as Aeon moved into battle-ready position.

"... I'm ready," muttered Malice, whispering to herself almost breathlessly as she surveyed the battlefield. It was monsterous... larger than she had ever imagined in her wildest dreams, and she was really there in the thick of it! Shielding her eyes from the harsh flourescent lighting, the 19 year old dropped her gaze down below the trainer's platform to a certain furry something that was already pacing from edge to edge of a little red 'island' nearby.
"Tune out the crowd, Sep'!" she yelled, causing the Eevee to turn her head and pause, "don't let any of this distract you!"
Resting a hand against the two remaining pokeballs on her belt, the amateur trainer gave a nod at last to the audience. First stadium battle or no... she was ready.

The offical automaticly moved both flags downward as a roar of excitement rang out from the spectators at his single word.
"BEGIN!"
"Aeon! Move to the edge of the platform and use a Mega punch on the center platform!"
"Raichu! Rai!"
Swiftly boucing over to the edge, Aeon pulled his arm back and held it there for a split second before bringing it down on the white platform. The platform flipped over onto it's edge at the pressure, sending a large wave of water towards the little eevee on the other side of the field.
However, the attack pulled a double-whammy; Aeon had been knocked into the water as the platform had flipped over on it's other side.
"Aeon!" Jen leaned over the edge of the railing and stared down at her pokemon bobbing around in the water. "You okay, buddy?"
She breathed a sigh of relief at the nod and wave. He could continue this fight...hopefully, he wouldn't get knocked off again.

"SEPIA!!!" Malice cried out a frantic warning to the little eevee, but it was already too late. The upturned platform had caused a veritable tidal wave that way heading straight for her beloved Pokemon with incredible speed. Sepia let off a high pitched squeak when the surge made contact, tons of water spilling over in a massive curtain across her island. Scrabbling desperately with all paws, it was only a last minute reflex that saved her, skidding the the far edge of the platform yet somehow remaining firm.
Not that this did anything to spare Mal's nerves, fighting back a frown as her mind raced. And then it clicked. "Use the edge as a springpoint for your quick attack! Aim high!"
Sepia obeyed, leaping over the slippery hazard of the platform surface and, leaning over the edge, suddenly pushed off from against the structure in what could have been a laughable sprinter's stance... and rocketed straight for Aeon with every intention of...
No, she wasn't trying to collide with Aeon... She was going to crash-land right on top of her!

"Rai......CHU! Rai...rai...."
Pulling himself onto the slippery platform, Aeon layed there for a second in order to catch his breath. Flipping the heavy platform had taken a lot of strength.....and that was something he didn't have a lot of....
"AEON! ABOVE YOU!"
Snapping to attention at his trainer's voice, Aeon looked skyward at the little eevee heading straight towards him. Getting to his feet, he crouched as the thunderbolt on his tail began to glow a silver-white...
Jen understood what he was going to do: "AEON! Knock it away with Iron Tail!"
"Raichu!" He quickly stood on his hind legs before using the platform like a trampoline. One bounce....two...three was not going to be a charm. As he landed to make the maxiumu bounce, the Raichu slipped on the wet surface and fell; he smacked into the hard platform as the white/silver glow on his tail disappeared. TO make matters worse, the eevee slammed into Aeon's back, flattening the pokemon against the surface. HP: 900/1000

The force of the impact was tremendous as Sepia came down, landing on top of her larger opponent with claws out and digging into whatever fur they could clutch. A window of golden opportunity had opened-- if only for a split second-- and the little pokemon, with her quick witted trainer sensing the same, would make every use of it!
"Iron tail-- point blankl!"
Sepia didn't waste a moment to execute the command, every hair on her body bristling as a ghostly silver glow began to emit from her tail until it was almost blinding. Swinging it back like a sledgehammer, she brought it crashing down for Aeon's exposed backside-- not only to cause the Raichu excessive damage, but utilize the force to propel herself upwards in a great leap to the next adjacent platform.
Her landing was almost clumsy on the other side, with the surface still slick from water, but beggars couldn't be choosers in such a fight. After all... without the advantage of size (or sudden luck) on her side, she couldn't allow herself to be trapped in close combat!

Pain erupted from every nerve in his body as the attack slammed onto his already tender backside; as eevee retreated to another platform, Aeon struggled to his feet, pain etched onto his face.
The raichu coughed to get air into his lungs as tiny drops of blood stained the strach whiteness of the platform he was on. Shaking his head to clear the fog from his mind, the electric pokemon wiped away the sweat and blood staining his fur for his forepaws.
"AEON! AEON!" Heart racing, Jennifer watched as her best friend in the world pushed himself to continue. She paniced and started to make a motion to end the battle here and now, but the unseen pressure of Aeon's expression stopped her. Lowering her hand, Jen watched as her pokemon nodded before he faced his opponent on all fours. She would stay strong...for him, and for their friendship.
"Okay buddy! Jump underwater and make it a big one!"
Using the platform again, Aeon bounced into the water which sent a spray of water everywhere on the field. Using his tail as a propeller, Aeon moved closer to eevee's platform before issuing the commanded attack from above.
"NOW AEON! USE THUNDERBOLT!"
The yellow glow under the water was the only warning to those above before an barrage of lightning bolts exploded to the surface. They thrashed wildly around, sending random bolts across the field. The water had made it ten-times worse. HP: 700/1000

Neither trainer nor Pokemon had expected the sudden backlash of electricity from down below, and both let out a cry-- Malice from the shock of such a blinding explosion, and Sepia from the sudden and exquisite pain. The puddles of wetness beneath her shot current into the little Eevee's paws, jolting every fiber of her being-- and even when it had ceased, her heart was still racing like a mad hummingbird.
"Sepia! Sepia!!!" Only the cries of her trainer finally broke the trance, snapping back to reality with a painful flinch. If only to soothe the poor girl's frantic expression, she nodded slowly, making her best attempt to feign 'alright'. It seemed to work, and Malice breathed a sigh, contemplating their next move. "Alright-- watch for a shadow beneath the water and take down as it comes to surface!"
It was a good ploy; Aeon had to surface for air and, sure enough, Sepia's sharp gaze finally caught the dark sillouette underneath. Taking off at a slippery gallop, she once more used the platform's edge as a springboard to launch skyward, sailing high into the air and coming down in a head first crash-dive for the Raichu's swimming form.

Aeon surfaced and opened his mouth to inhale when the little creature slammed into the larger pokemon from above, sending them both underneath the cool waters.
Spots exploded infront of Aeon's eyes as the lack of air and the attack sent him squirming through the water, trying to find the way back to the surface. Finally, he came too and raced to the surface; breaking it, he inhaled several gulps of fresh air before turning to find his trainer staring at him with tears running down her face. Appartently he had been under for several minutes and, when he had not surfaced, his beloved trainer had feared the worst. Threading the water, he tossed her a big grin and a thumbs-up; this eased Jen's spirit...they could continue.
Wiping away the salty liquid, Jen spoke her next command: " Aeon! Dive back under water!"
Slipping back under the surface, Aeon swam towards eevee once more as his fiust began to glow a bright white color. Diving deeper, and using a burst of speed, Aeon turned and shot upwards towards his opponent with his fist held out.

Spots of dizzy light swam in Sepia's field of vision, making it nearly impossible for her to find the surface. In fact, it was only dumb luck that saved her in the end, flailing and kicking until she broke surface with a strained gasp. God, how her lungs burned! Everything was beginning to hurt. Joints ached. Muscles seized. Vision blurred. It took everything in her little body not to show the that pain... and yet, somehow, she knew Malice was growing nervous from it.
... And then came the new shock of a sharp uppercut from down below, smashing right into her chin with explosive force. Unable to bite back a scream, she flew from the water, crashing down and skidding to a miserable hault on the nearest platform, trembling legs splayed. "S-Sepia! SEPIA!!!" She heard her trainer crying out, almost screaming her name, and struggled back to her feet. Once again, the nod of 'alright' was given; they, too, could continue.
"... A-alright," even Mal's voice cracked, swallowing hard, "charge another Iron Tail-- straight into the water at full force! Beach him!"
Sepia's tail began to glow once more as she staggered to the water's edge, rearing onto her hindlegs and letting out a raspy cry before bringing the 'weapon' down into the water. It was as if a cannonball had been dropped in-- and even several unfortunate spectators in the lower rows were thoroughly soaked.

The powerful wave forced the electric pokemon onto a nearby platform, his body scraping across the hard surface. Panting, he laided there for a few seconds before getting to his feet; the soft fur had been torn away revealing his bleeding skin to the audience.
Making to turn towards the battle to finish everything, Aeon paused when he saw his trainer staring at him with sad eyes. He knew that she bare to see him suffer like he was....but.....
The pokemon turned and bounced across the platforms towards Jen as she crouched down and reached out towards him. Pausing infront of her, Raichu reached out and grabbed her fingers in his paws, nibbling on the tips and squeezing them...like he had done countless times when he was a infant. He reasurred her, with his touch and his affection, that he could and would continue to fight.
Jen smiled and stood as he let go and bounced back to centerfield; Aeon flexed his arms, strength and spirit revived by his trainer's love. He felt like he could run a thousand miles, he did.
"Alright Aeon, let's finish this! Use Return attack!"
Getting down on all fours, he gathered power as a pink aura gathered around his body; after a few seconds, he bounced forward, across the platforms, towards his opponent. HP: 500/1000
