I'm disappointed in you all! I had to wait 8 HOURS to get Avatar, because of the damn Canadian station airing a friggin' POKEMON movie at 5, and there's only 2 topics! FOR SHAAAAME. Well, I guess I've gotta be bringin' sexy back.
So, uh, I didn't take my usual notes, 'cause ******** that noise. So, uh, yeah, this is gonna be kinda more generalized than usual.
NO ZUCREW! I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to my weekly Maiko-smut and plotty!Azula.
Lots of Tokka. I'm very satisfied. Some of it was reaching a little, and some of it wasn't. The point is, THERE WAS TOKKA. Negi is rolling in his grave. Yes, he's dead, the Tokka killed him.
Wiggly spirit-magic arms. xD Just... Awesome. Sokka did it so much better. His explosion noise was more heartfelt, too.
WHY ARE FIRE NATION KIDS SO DANG CUTE?! I mean, seriously. What is up with this?
Mmkay, right when Katara is saying, "I just kind of became her," when Aang finds out she's pretending to be the Painted Lady. Serpent'sPass!Suki, much?
I'm wondering what's with all of the moons in this episode. It's kinda... strange. o__O
Olderbrother!Sokka is SO AWESOME. I mean... jeez. Could you get any sweeter?
Haha, I like the little thing with Aang and Toph. "He really DOES have a heart, doesn't he?" "...*PUNCH*" I'm not sure if I like it because it is anti-Taang or if it is showing a Taang that I like. (The usual Taang is too dang mushy and portrays Toph as this sweet little girl WHICH SHE'S NOT.) I'm gonna go with 'reasons why Taang wouldn't work'.
I really like the fact that the Fire Nation has female soldiers. If nothing else, the Fire Nation seems to have more gender equality than the other nations.
How come the Fire Nation has so many different symbols?! x_X Firebending symbol, national symbol, army symbol... Jeez. STICK WITH ONE.
Okay, who else thought that the Painted Lady spirit was Yue before it panned up to her face? Fess up. I was like, "OMG FLOWY PALE SPIRITY ROBES AT NIGHT YUEEEEEEEEE!"
Another side note: What did Aang eat all this time? There was only fish. He's a vegetarian. o_o Not the purple-tongue-berries, since his tongue wasn't purple. Dunno.
SO. Overall... I didn't really like this episode. It was very filler-ish. I mean, there were some funny bits and a big heaping pile of Tokka, but other then that it didn't advance the plot. Also, NO ZUCREW, SO INSTA-FAIL.

Well, we did learn about the eclipse and we further understand the fire nation people.
My favorite part had to be Toph showing she knows mob mentality when she screamed "Let's clean the river" at a confused mob and thus channeling their energy away from "Katara's a water bender, what do we do? "

Heh.
I know, the lack of ZuCrew was slightly disheartening. We just have to wait until next week, I guess. O.o
Gasperoo.
We'll have to tell Negi that he's dead now. xD I'm not sure if he knows.
More importantly, I think it's funny that all the kids who are on here daily know each other by name, where they live, and most importantly, what they ship and don't ship.
The wiggly-arm deal made up for the lack of ZuCrew in my humble opinion.

@Seira= I'm on here nearly daily, and I have no idea where you people sleep, or any of that. I'm pretty sure I know what you all ship, though.
Aside from that, I knew you all would be disappointed at the lack of Flamescar (Zuko) and company.
Heh heh, poor Negi... The ship he anti's killed him...
I liked the part when the Painted Lady thanks Katara. She saved her by helping clean the river. If the river dies, the spirit might just die too, ne?

Well, hun.
You know that Stephanie is from Canada. You know that I love Zutara and dispise Kataang. Slightly support Tokka and Taang.
That's scary in and of itself. Think about how much you know.

Paranoid much, Seira? o.o
I'm disappointed how little discussion there is on this one. I guess there wasn't much to discuss.
Okay, so here's a topic that I've been pondering. You know when Aang said, "He really DOES have a heart, doesn't he?" and Toph punched him? Yeah. So, I'm wondering, do you see that as a Taang moment or an anti-Taang moment, and why do you see it that way? Try to make your reasoning free of shipping bias.
I'm not sure myself how I feel on it. I'd like to hear other people's opinions.
I think I feel like it's a positive Taang moment. See, when people say 'Taang', I think of all those disgustingly sappy deviantART pics where Toph is all mellow and sweet and Aang is himself. What annoys me about Taang is that people reduce Toph to this sweet little girl, WHICH SHE'S NOT, to fit traditional gender roles in a relationship. So, Taang generally annoys me because I think it's just raping the story and characters to fit an ideal of relationships in our society, and that the only reason they're paired together is because they're opposite elements and they're the same age.
But this little snippet here shows a Taang that I like better. It has them being themselves, no one is changed, it's the true dynamic of what Taang would be like. I personally think it'd be a car wreck, but hey, that's my idea. I just appreciate the Taang that's actually Taang, I guess is what I'm trying to say. If fanonized Taang happened in the series I would get veeeery annoyed.
A bit of a rant there, heh.

Morgan want hawt painted lady pr0n scream
I myself was glad they didnt have any of the fire nation angst like they have had for the last couple of episodes. I thought the focus was on the gaang which it hasnt really been strictly focused on in a while. Their adventure was pretty bad I thought, mmm... Tokka.

I didn't mind this episode. It was just fine, in my opinion. It was just like the Great Divide episode and others, as you guys would call "filler-ish". Well, if you think about it, it's not quite a "filler" -- random stuff happens to people when they're travelling. Have you ever thought about that?
Anyway, it was obvious right from the get-go that Katara was disguised as the Painted Lady. Well, it was obvious that the Blue Spirit was Zuko, so oh well.
In my opinion, I liked the Painted Lady's character design. I just wished that the episode was more about he real PL, not Katara dressed as her. (And I hope that somehow the PL makes another appearance. Maybe when the invasion commences on the Fire Nation, all the spirits from earlier episodes will aid them! Yue, the Painted Lady, Hei-Bai, La (the ocean spirit), ect. That would be soooo awesome. . !)
And, of course, I can't wait till next week's episode!

I enjoyed this episode. It was funny and light-hearted, excluding the poor fire nation people and the situation they were in. Although it would have been nice to see glimpses of what Zuko is doing and such, I am glad they made an episode focusing on gaang. It was nice to see them laughing together and helping out the town.
It was cool that Katara was pretending to be the painted lady. She was pretty with the markings on her and the outfit was beautiful. The ending was great when the really painted lady came to thank Katara.
My favorite moment was when Sokka and Katara had their brother/sister moment. It was so sweet. I also love how Toph punched Aang. XD

I, too, think that it was a positive Taang moment, and I like how they were both themselves. If it does happen in the series, I hope that they won't change just to fit into stereotypical roles. It wouldn't be them at all. As long as they stay themselves, I wouldn't mind. I think it's a cute pairing, although I'm open-minded to the other pairings.

Butterfly Nebula Lots of Tokka. I'm very satisfied. Some of it was reaching a little, and some of it wasn't. The point is, THERE WAS TOKKA. Negi is rolling in his grave. Yes, he's dead, the Tokka killed him. Everyone break out your pillows, your ear plugs, your wads of cotton, and if need be your socks that you haven't cleaned for the past 2 weeks and please stuff them in your ears to dampen the sound. Everyone ready? Okay then. 3... 2... 1... ?!?!?!?!?!WHERE?!?!?!?!?! scream scream scream scream scream scream I'll admit I was sweating throughout most of that episode with the number of times they hung out together... alone... with nothing else to do but dye Toph's tongue purple... but did we see anything and I mean ANYTHING HAPPEN?! By the end of the episode I thought this episode was clear of any serious Tokka-ness and I breathed a sigh of relief. Nothing personal, just trying to stand my ground on my anti-Tokka-ness. (I'm already standing on the edge of a cliff here) Although I do admit they made a very good comedy duo. Anyway, moving into mostly neutral territory.... A good episode. I didn't mind the Zuko-lessness but the creators had better speed up his mental recovery soon after missing an episode. And do you realize we're through the 3rd episode and Iroh hasn't said a word? I loved the crazy hat guy. XD (Dock or Shu or whoever is on his mind at the moment). Since we posted the "least favorite episode" thread and someone said they didn't like a certain episode because it didn't advance the plot or anything (I think it was Butterfly but I honestly can't remember), I've been keeping an eye on the episodes and seeing if they advance the story. I mean, c'mon, they have 20 episodes to fit a lot in. I'm curious with how this episode will affect future episodes. All I can think of is the destruction of the factory will probably get the firelord's or the assassian's attention and make them think something strange is going on. Any thoughts on this? I know this is going to get some people riled up but am I the only one who, after seeing Katara revealed as the Painted Lady, thought of her being similar to Zuko's Blue Spirit? Could another Zutara-version pairing walk among us? Painted Lady x Blue Spirit? BlueLady or BluePaint or PaintedSpirit? Yes, I know, no evidence for this one but you know someone else is going to think of this sooner or later. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to take my Taang moment of the episode and.......... Okay, seriously, every word I can think of is going to make it sound weirder and weirder. BUT YOU CAN"T HAVE MY TAANG MOMENT!!!! *scuttles away*

I think La is still a fish, but did they show La after Aang got out of the spirit form? Well, all I know is that we saw La's true form in the Siege of the North Pt. 2 when Aang went into the Avatar state. So that shows that La can go into that form even though the fish is its mortal state.
And, man, if the benevolent spirits from previous episodes DID help in the invasion/battle -- There would be some serious destruction on the shores, since I realized most of the spirits the Gaang has encountered are connected with water. (La is the ocean spirit; the Panted Lady is a water spirit; and Yue, the moon spirit, can control tides.)

Negiiiii! biggrin I was wondering when you'd show up.
And what do you mean, 'what Tokka'?! Are you BLIND, sir?! If that PUNCH and Toph clinging onto Aang can be considered Taang, the rest of the dang episode can be considered Tokka. Okay, lemme go through the episode here... -Teasing Sokka (though I thought that was a pretty lame joke...) -CLINGING ONTO HIM 90% OF THE TIME ON THE DOCKS AND BOAT. -When she was clinging, Sokka was supporting her in return, unlike Aang who just stood there passively. -Toph's 'I didn't know you cared so much'. (That one's reaching a lot, I know, but I take what I get. She sounded impressed.) -Toph's continuing lack of inhibition about getting physical with Sokka (though that could definitely be considered a sign of closer friendship) -Of course, being left alone all night with him. I thought that they looked more than a little like a pair of scolding parents when Aang and Katara showed up. -(This one is going to anger Taangers) The punch. OKAY. Here's one possible slant to it. Toph is a defensive person about her feelings, right? Maybe when Aang suggested that Sokka had a heart, she thought he was somehow mocking her or she didn't want to agree because he might realize her feelings, so she quickly got rid of him by punching him. If you study her face afterwards, it looks kinda... weird, maybe worried. I am almost certain that I am reaching for the sky in this idea, though, please don't kill me. -And, of course, Tokka is supported by process of elimination through the in-your-face Kataang throughout EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. (I dislike Kataang as a singular pairing, but it compliments my pairings, so I tolerate it.)
So there, Negi. You, sir, are blind. And I say again, though much of these so-called hints are reaching a LOT, if you can claim that Toph clinging onto Aang and punching Aang are Taang, then you must admit that Tokka is valid, because SHE DOES THIS MUCH MORE OFTEN TO SOKKA. (Especially the punching, but also the clinging. I can pull up an encyclopedic list of the punching and clinging if you wish.)
And, yeah, a lot of people are comparing the Painted Lady and the Blue Spirit and saying "ZOMG ZUTARA". Before the episode even aired someone I watch on devART had watched it on TurboNick and posted up a picture with that, and it didn't say spoiler so I was pissed because I knew who the Painted Lady was before I even watched the damn thing.
