so i have a windows vista laptop. It kinda sucks.
I've been trying to get WoW downloaded...but. This is only the 14 day trial.

I did set it up at "run as adminstrator"
and I did set it up on safe mode. Neither worked.
I also sent a mesage to Blizzard Entertainment. But I haven't recieved a message back yet, and I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting. Especially if the 14 day trial is already running stressed so yeah. Any tips? Its greatly wanted!

Yeah Vista is a pain with games imo. I put Wow onto my Vista-running laptop and everything was choppy, I literally had about 2 FPS until I put it into window mode. I don't know what to tell you about the 14 day trial thing except maybe once you get it to work make a new account? confused Sorry it's being a pain for you.

You know I have seen so many people complain about Windows Vista but honestly I have never had a single problem and I have over 20 games on my computer including about 10 mmo's.

try setting it to run in windows xp compatibility mode that usually fixes the problems half the time with games that won't run on vista

Is there something wrong with windows vista? I'm just getting it and it'd be nice to know before I buy it.

Vista sucks.
The only really nice thing about vista is the display looks much better then XP, in my opinion, but WoW... I don't think it runs that well on Vista.
Actually-- it doesn't.
I just remembered that I had lost my WoW Cds so I had to get them off online, took 6 hours.
And when I play WoW has these little spasms.
It makes me cry.

Currently, Vista sucks very very badly. But soon, it will get better....bugs will get fixed and things will get better. It is still in it's early stages and needs many patches and fixes. But untill then....Vista sucks.

The reason Vista may be having trouble running WoW is because WoW sucks even worse then Vista....haha....but seriously....Vista wasn't made to run games that were not meant for Vista. Vista was made to run games that say "Windows Vista Compatible" on the box. This is one of the many reasons why Vista sucks. I would have Vista now if it was not for that. Any game not made specifically for Vista runs really horribly, if at all.

My suggestion is that you downgrade to XP and try playing WoW then untill Vista gets better.

OR You can keep Vista to play good games like Crysis...etc and wait for a good MMO like Warhammer Online. WoW is quite lame in my opinion, Warhammer Online will blow it out of the water.

Well WoW isn't that horrible....it is fun for a while, but if you really want to play it, the 14 day free trial isn't the way to go anyway, it limits you to the things you can do...making this mediocre game into a bad game.

I had trouble getting WoW to run on my laptop and I had to do a few things:turn off that darn Sidebar. It's annoying (personally) and eats up your RAM like no other. And try to run as administrator with hardly anything running.

My problems came about when I first bought the laptop right after the launch of Vista. This was my savior thread: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=76819853
