Ho s**t, a light gun shooter that doesn't involve androgynous heroes or the living dead? Do Tell.
Ghost Squad is the latest in light gun-erri games to hit consoles, and I have to say, it's quite the ride. You play as a group of special ops soldiers, trying to stop terrorists from blowing s**t up. But you just skip threw that, and get to shooting stuff.
And shooting stuff is fun 3nodding
The controls are nailed right there, simple as point and shoot, and god, is there a lot to shoot. Baddies jump out of no where on the screen and provide good "HOSHI..." moments for the easily scared. For vets, this should be a walk in the park, but a fun walk, none the less.
Multiplayer is the most fun, allowing two players to work cooperatively to take down the opposing force. It's great fun, especially when you yell at someone for not providing cover while he/she switches weapons.
The Graphics and cinematics could have used some work, no way that's what the Wii is capable of, and some of the Voice acting in cut scenes felt off sync a little, but overall, it was fun to see you player utterly pwn the AI in action scenes. Online would have been nice for a multiplayer option as well.
Overall, this a a nice little rail that should hold you over till the new Time Crisis, or till Medal of Honor Heroes 2 comes out.
Ghost Squad earns a 8.65 out of 10.
