Bneut set down a Morning Glory in bloom, setting two more down a few feet from the first, four more and so on till the boat was reached. Inside he had a canvas and painting supplies and something for them to eat. Originally he wanted to paint her, but now he wanted to impress Esmee for some reason.

(( Esmée! ))

Boing!

Even if Esmée had become fairly haughty, she still found enjoyment in simple things such as bouncing around by using her rubbery abilities, even if her Fernand sighed and shook his head at her obnoxious behavior. Of course, Esmée knew to stop when she saw a blue-purple blob in the distance. Bneut told her to watch for a trail of flowers, and most blue-purple blobs were flowers. At least, that was what she had learned to assume.

When going closer, her thoughts were confirmed. Esmée plucked the flower off the ground and brought it closer to her face so she could get a better view. Ah, it was a Morning Glory! Those flowers were always very majestic and enchanting to her, even if she could hardly see them at most distances. Esmée had always preferred flowers with darker colors. The man had good taste, but that didn't particularly mean anything yet. A trail of flowers was still rather corny in any respect, and Esmée wasn't one for cheese.

Since he had chosen Morning Glory though, she wouldn't leave yet. She'd follow the trail until she found him, even if she looked around and totally missed the boat, being as blind as a bat without its supersonic hearing.

Bneut waited for Esmee to show up, smiling as he saw her in the distace making sure to compose himself before she got close enough to see him. "Hi, you must be Esmee." he said, holding out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Bneut grined, standing there waiting for her to take his hand. As soon as she had he shook it lightly, leading her into the boat. "Swimming isn't the best in the world."

She did not actually notice his presence initially, glancing around confused as she tried to search for the boat. However, when a hand was placed in front of her body, Esmée realized there was someone there. "Oh!" Instead of apologizing for completely missing him, she shook his hand and then helped herself into the boat. "I see you chose Morning Glories because you are a Morning Glory." Though she didn't at all intend to flirt, she could have been flirting under the right context.

Esmée wasn't the type for flirting, though. Instead, she looked around to get a view of their surroundings, even if everything became fuzzy after just a about a foot or so. She needed glasses...

It was a moment before Bneut himself got into the boat as he needed to push it off the shore yet. "I hope you don't mind, I brought you something to eat." He said, not having seen her as she was speaking a moment ago. The purple and blue pae looked up, watching the scenery pass by before looking at Esmee again. "You're squinting. Can you not see?"

"Depends on the type of food you brought," replied she, vaguely, while attempting to get used to the expanse of the world around her. The water seemed to go on forever, and yet she clearly knew that it did not. The sheer amount of water on the lake seemed to play tricks on her eyes. Perhaps if she could find the fuzzy island in the distance, her head wouldn't hurt so much.

Bneut's question finally registered in her head once she reached her conclusion. Oh, right, she wasn't alone. "Indeed. I have always had trouble seeing. Beyond a foot in front of me, everything tends to blur and become indistinguishable." Realizing that Bneut was becoming a bit blurry, too, she edged a bit closer to him just so she could see him better.

Bneut nodded, "A wonderful breakfast for you since I asked you here so early in the morning." He said, rather glad that his face was already pink as he started to blush a little as she got closer to look at him. "I can't focus on watching you speak t-tha-at c-close." He stuttered at the end, trying to back up a little as he rowed the boat to the island. The flower pae would much rather watch her mouth as Esmee spoke than to have his eyes closed or unfocused. He always felt it rude to ignore a person when they were speaking, especially to him.

Oops, she was embarrassing him. Esmée rubbed her neck, backing off. If he was going to give her food, she should at least stay a small distance from him to be considerate. "Just to warn, I can't see you as well over here." He was deaf and she couldn't see very well. ...Great combination. Of course, her problem would be solved as soon as she got herself some glasses. Bneut's deafness was probably unsolvable.

"Have you ever been to the island?" She decided to make conversation. Esmée had never been to the island herself, and was certainly curious about it. After all, she loved learning new things.

Bneut blushed a little harder for a moment before it faded as she backed away. "I-i'm sorry Esmee. I like being able to hear people." He said, glancing over her shoulder for a second to see how much farther the island was before catching her starting to speak and looking back at her. "Aye, but only twice. The first time my little sister took me and then I went on my own. I can't wait to paint you with the scenery there." Bneut giggled, feeling a soft thump as they reached land. He quickly jumped out in the shallow end and pulled the boat further in, offering his hand to Esmee to help her out of the boat.

Ah, so Bneut was an artist. Though she preferred those who preferred books, artistry required a certain amount of talent and creativity, both of which were valuable traits. Perhaps he was worth giving just a bit more time. Well, Esmée would not have much of a choice in the matter, anyway. They were now on this island, just the two of them, and the only way off it was by the boat. She couldn't see shore very well...

Ah well. Bneut seemed intriguing so far, at the least. She got herself out of the boat, brushing herself off once she got up. "So you're an artist? How skilled are you with your tools?" The more skilled, the better.

Bneut chuckled, pulling things out of the boat and placing them on the sand for a moment while he got the canvas out. "How about I let you decide how good I am after I paint you?" He said, not wishing to brag or to over state his abilities. In truth though he didn't know it he was quite talented, and seemed to work quickly. "Where would you like t-" Bneut stop talking as he noticed the lighting and saw the perfect spot. "Esmee, could you strike a pose for me?" he asked, pulling out his supplies and setting them up quickly. The light would be lost if he worked too slow.

Strike a pose? Was she a model? Esmée amused herself with the idea momentarily before sitting herself on the ground and crossing one leg over the other. Then, she gave a mischievous little wink. "This good enough for you?" Well, she could have some amusement in this. If he was truly a good artist, then he would be able to capture her perfectly in this lighting. And if he was able to, whether through his own interpretation or through realism, Bneut may have her hooked yet.

While waiting for Bneut to finish, she played with the sand underneath her hands, moving it between her fingers. She had always loved beaches, and having one isolated just for the two of them could be useful.

Bneut started with a quick sketch using a light pencil, then switching to paints, catching her dazzling looks in the light as quickly as possible. "You look wonderful like that Esmee." He said, adding a few finishing strokes, before looking at her again. He had captured the lighting and Esmee perfectly. "Would you like to see it?" The flower pae smiled as he picked up the painting and turned it around as he brought it closer to Esmee so she could see it.

She got down on her hands and knees in the warm sand and crawled a bit closer to get a better look, not wanting to stand up. "Oh, you are talented." An artist with talent was as good as an intellectual. Artists were known for their different views on the world, and as haughty as she made have seemed, she loved hearing about the differences between her and other... intriguing people. Bneut was lucky enough to fall into the intriguing category.

"So quickly, too. I can hardly imagine what you'd come up with if you spent hours on one piece." Guardians, it must have looked incredible! Esmée would have to ask to see one of his more elaborate pieces one of these days, so long as everything continued to go well.

...Maybe she wouldn't have to yell at Seiana and Aysu after all.

Bneut blushed, "I-I'm glad you like it Esmee." He said, sitting down gently next to her. "If given another chance to paint you along with the time I'd love to show you a more detailed peice." Bneut smiled, looking at her. "Uhm, would you like to keep this Esmee?" The flower pae offered, knowing that this date would be inspriation for a very long time, even if nothing happened.
