Storm Front
Harry Dresden is the best at what he does. Well, technically, he's the only at what he does. So when the Chicago P.D. has a case that transcends mortal creativity or capability, they come to him for answers. For the "everyday" world is actually full of strange and magical things -- and most of them don't play well with humans. That's where Harry comes in. Takes a wizard to catch a -- well, whatever.
There's just one problem. Business, to put it mildly, stinks. So when the police bring him in to consult on a grisly double murder committed with black magic, Harry's seeing dollar signs. But where there's black magic, there's a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry's name. And that's when things start to get... interesting.
Magic. It can get a guy killed.

I only picked this book up by chance because I was in a rush and needed a third book for a 3 for the price of 2 deal! Best free book I didn't mean to buy ever! I like the UK cover better though...

It was my friend who first introduced me to this book and I loved the series ever since. I wonder why he stopped using potions after the first two or three.

I bought this book off of Amazon after I found out the TV show was based off of a book series. biggrin
Hm... maybe Butcher just got sick of writing about potions? I don't think there's any within-the-book answer for that one. >>; Unless of course Harry was just too freaked out to use them often after Fool Moon.

I picked this one up because Summer Knight looked really interesting. I don't like starting into a series if I can help it. (With the exception of the Garret Files, I started on Deadly Quicksilver Lies and did okay back tracking.) Wow, am I glad I did too. I think I've had to buy a few copies, as they keep going to friends, and I never see them again (as they're passes to others from them...)

I would have never read these books if my husband and I hadn't gotten hooked on the TV show first. So we bought this one and started reading. It was great.
