Independence was a funny concept, and Zulu found herself glad to be away from her pestering family. It wasn't that she hated them or anything, but she knew it was time for her to grow up and experience things herself. Life was more exciting when she out adventuring, and there was so much to see and discover! When she was with her family, all they seemed to do was lounge around and relax, and there was only so much relaxing that one could do.
The day felt like a good one, and Zulu didn't feel as grumpy as usual. Most of the time she felt naturally angry at everything, but at the moment her body was calm and at ease. Sometimes it was nice to just, be content, and to be angry all the time got frustrating!
The mare left her thoughts when noticing a strange looking plant. It was wiggling around wildly, and she followed it with her eyes before trying to pounce on it. As she pounced, she watched many fish fling from under the plant, and it was a hilarious sight! After watching the plant rest again, she followed a trail to see if any more crazy plants existed in the wavy area.

Sabine moves toward the same 'forest' of the plants because there were so many fishes around and Sakkah is asleep again. The little orca mersoquili is very hungry and bored so she decided to wander off for little bit to see what she could find and perhaps to fill her stomach before Sakkah woke up. The blue eyes widens as she sees streams of bubbles going up to the surface and she is VERY fascinated with them and she loves to play with them.
"Yay!!" She cries out excitedly as she zooms toward the streams of bubbles, dodging some and she did a little front flip with a laugh exploding from her lips. She suddenly stops as she sees a huge weird looking creature that looks little bit like her but she have four legs and a fin.. Sabine cocks her head to side as her shy personality finally emerges while she moves toward small patch of plants and peeks out at Zulu curiously. She wanted to watch before she summon up energy to introduce herself and hope that this creature won't be mean toward her and try to eat her!
Sabine makes small bubbles as she tries not to giggle as one bubble tickles her nose. But she sneezed loudly and went flying backward then she froze with a really scared look on her face and she eyed the creature once again because she is now out in the open and she is not sure what to do right now.

Zulu thought she had sensed some movement around her, but it wasn't until a little black figured appeared that she was aware of its entire presence. A young female she was, Zulu eyed her up and down before taking a few steps forward. Hell, she didn't want to SCARE the thing, but she wanted to take a better look! It had a long tail, and if Zulu's predictions were right, a young Mer was floating in front of her!
"Ah yes, a Mer.. never thought I would actually see one for myself." Zulu was quiet in speaking, since she was partially talking to herself. Her entire day was now more exciting, and she kept her eyes on the girl's long tail before bringing her eyes back to that of the child's. "Hello there to you."
It was awkward for Zulu to be entirely kind, since most of the time she scared others away. But this little girl was still so young, and there was no harm in talking to her!
"What is your name little one? Are you out here all by yourself?" If she was.. then it was a blessing that she was still alive! There were so many enemies in the ocean, that Zulu shivered while thinking about them herself. "Don't worry, I won't bit you know." she then added, while wondering if that might frighten her off more..

Sabine is very extremely shy but at same time, very curious about everything around her, especially the creature in front of her. The creature looks really scary but at same time, curiously interesting so she didn't bolt for her life. But when the creature steps forward, she instinctively shrank back from the creature with wide eyes and her tail twitches slightly while she paws at the water in front of her nervously. Her eyes travels down to the tail curiously as she stares at it while wondering if it gotten in way of the creatures' legs while swimming or other way around!
Sabine's mouth forms into a small 'o' as she heard the creature speak and she blinks and slowly tilts her head to side. Her mother always told her not to talk with strangers because they could be dangerous and took her away but since she lost her mother due to the separation.. she doesn't think that its possible to be taken away. But... Sakkah... Her mind pipes up as Sabine tries not to frown at the thought of being separated from her own precious brother. "Hello..." She hesitantly says as she eyes the creature warily.
The little mersoquili cranes her neck forward curiously as the creature asked her the questions. She thinks that its no harm in having a 'question session' with this creature.. perhaps she will learn something about that creature and finally know its identity and who it is! "I am Sabine.." She smiles as she looks at the adult, feeling slightly more safer. "And no.. my brother is hiding nearby.. fast asleep.." She bobs her head. "What is your name? and what are you?" She boldly asks as her eyes went wide as she looks at Zulu as she said that she won't bite the little'un. "Thats very good thing!! I hate being bitten.. it hurts.." She winces to emphasize her point as she sways her tail back and forth lightly out of the habit.

Zulu smiled at the little one's response, and let her tail float lazily as she listened quietly. "Well that is good that you are not alone, having a sibling is always a nice thing." She knew that concept very well, since she had two sisters herself. "Oh an my name? I am Zulu, and.." with a tilted head, she slanted her eyes and peered at the child. "Am I really THAT different from you? But I suppose I will let it pass, since you ARE just a child." A few bubbles drifted from her nose as she finished with a light snort.
After being satisfied in her speech and composure, she grinned again, and lifted her shoulders up. "I am a Kelpi of course, just another sea-dweller like yourself. But I am able to go on land as well, which I can assure you isn't that great." Her cheekbones twitched lightly, and she was glad she had the ability to live in the water all the time. She just hated land dwellers.
"You have been bitten before then?" With a strange expression, Zulu was a bit shifted in what that meant. She herself would smack and attack anything that came at her, which was a courtesy of her mother's harsh attitude. "But anyway, what brings you away and out on your own today? I am glad that at least I am here, since the ocean is a dangerous place." And Zulu would never allow another innocent soul to fall to it's grasp.

Sabine felt slightly reassured by Zulu's smile as she bobs her head. "I hate being alone.." She uncertainly says as she eyes Zulu's legs thoughtfully. There is so many questions she want to ask Zulu but she doesn't want to come off as a rude little mersoquili. Her mouth purses as she tries not to grin at the bubbles that drifted from the kelpie's nose. "Yes.. you look really different from me... " Sabine meekly says as she looks at Zulu with wide eyes. The truth is that she never met any other races except mersoquilis her entire childhood life so everything is a huge shock for her.
Sabine's eyes was in danger of popping out of her skull when Zulu reveals that she is able to go on the land. "What is... Kelpi? a cross between land soquili and mersoquili?" She mumbles half to herself but she looks at Zulu with an awed expression on her face. "Why going on the land is not that great, Ms. Zulu?" She cranes her neck forward as she swims closer with an eager smile on her face. Her mother always told her and Sakkah to show some manners all of the time toward the older soquilis because they deserved to be respected.
Sabine smiles meekly as she bobbed her head at Zulu. "Yeah... but it was a very small shark.. it tried to kill me before my mama... well" She trails off as she frowns slightly at the thought of her mother. "chased the shark off..." She just merely shrugs her shoulders as she smiles at Zulu happily. "Um... I am very hungry.. I am trying my best to learn how to hunt so I can show my brother how to hunt and we can get the fishes instead of going hungry for days." She bobs her head. "Oh!! and I was bored because Sakkah.. thats my brother was asleep and I wanted to play." She looks at Zulu with an eager smile on her face then she bobs her head to get some of her white hair out of her eyes.

"Well, I certainly don't feel like getting into biological specifics," since honestly, Zulu had no idea on that sort of thing, "but I am sure a Kelpi is some kind of cross. And the land is terrible, trust me Sabine. The creatures that dwell there are all back-stabbing and dangerous. You can't trust anyone, and the weather is disgusting compared to being under the water. You should be thankful that you can hang around under here." With a light snicker, she tried to drag her thoughts out of the negativity she felt for the land.
From Sabine's little story, it looked as though something bad must have happened to her mother. Zulu knew that was dangerous ground to ask about, so she decided to skip ahead and not ask anything stupid that might upset the child. "What do you like to eat? There really isn't any skill to hunting, its just something you get used to. I am sure some day you will get the hold of it well.."
"But until then, what are you hungry for? I am sure I could help you out." Since Zulu was not a personality who liked to 'play'. As usual, she ignored what the child spoke of, hoping she wouldn't get herself into playing with the thing!
But either way, she was happy to aid in feeding the child. "Have you ever tried some of the plant life? That is usually the easiest option when you can't hunt, and I find some plants are just delicious."

Sabine giggles as she grins at Zulu. "What is biological? it sounds very boring!" She crinkles her muzzle up as she grins impishly at Zulu, liking this kelpie right off the bat. Her eyes went wide like huge saucers as Zulu tells her all about the land-dwelling creatures and she could visualize them as ugly creatures with huge gaping maws with blades sticking out of their legs or bodies. "They sounds very scary..." She says in meek voice as she stares at Zulu. "How did you survive on the land with... all of those monsters?!" She cries out as she moves closer to Zulu, fascinated with the stories the adult is bringing her at the moment.
The baby mersoquili's muzzle forms into a small 'o' as she looks shocked at Zulu. Its first time for her to receive help from any outsiders that is not from her pod. "Um.. I am hungry for fish.. but I don't care which one.. as long as it doesn't bite me back." She giggles nervously as she grins sheepishly at Zulu. She did a little dance sideways happily as she looks at the adult with a huge smile on her face. "I have tried the plantlife.. we lived off them for while if we can't find fishes or can't catch them. But they are... well... bland." She crinkles her nose up slightly.
Sabine peers up at the adult hopefully. "Are you going to teach me how to hunt for the fishes?"

The little creature was entertaining, and Zulu was oddly enjoying it's company. "Yes yes, it is boring. And the only reason I survived is because I actually scared them! They didn't know what or who I was, so before I could growl at them, they ran off like little babies, calling me a sea monster and all. One stayed back to examine me, but I became disinterested quickly after." With a light sigh, another bubble floated out of her mouth. "They were just so boring, and the sun was beating down and it was incredibly hot." Plus they were making fun of her, so she hated them instantly.
"Well there are other forms of plant life to be found, some being delicious in taste." but at the same time, she understood of the child got sick of eating so much of it. "A good start to trying to nab a fish is what I was doing before." Zulu took a few steps away from Sabine, and she pointed out a plant that was shaking wildly. "See this? This shows us that there are at least a few fish nesting in this plant." Sticking her leg out then, she hit the bush forcefully, and quickly after three fish fled out in a confused manner. Zulu then snapped her jaw out, only to snag a fish by the tail.
She returned back to the child, and placed the fish in front of her, before then letting go of the tail and letting the fish get away. "Its better if you try for yourself, I can't just give you food." That was how she was taught, and when Zulu was little she didn't eat for days until she caught her own. "So I would say, looking for fish like that is a great start when you are little. Then once you get faster, you can catch more of a variety of fish."

Sabine's eyes went even more wider than before she watches Zulu with awed expression on her face. "You just growl and they run?! so that means I can growl if I do get stuck on the land and they will run from me?" She excitedly says as she looks at the kelpie. "Ew... I hate boring things!! and hot weather! I tried to go up to the surface once during the day time.. the sun... I felt like it was beating me up." She frowns. "I don't think you are a monster.. I think you look like a beautiful princess!!! with the light gleaming off your body" She beams at Zulu, feeling like she have to tell her the truth.
The little mersoquili perks up at the mention of variety of plants she could try out. She is very curious about those plants but she is more curious about how to hunt at the first. She bobs her head slightly to indicate that she is listening and she turns her eyes toward the plant that was shaking wildly. She nods quickly and makes "oh!" sound. When Zulu hit the bush with force and three fishes came out, she watches the adult with awed eyes as the fish gets snatched right out of the water by its tail.
Sabine watches the fish get away as she nods at Zulu. "You are right.. I need to learn how to hunt instead of having everything being given to me. Be right back!" She zoomed after the fish and easily caught the fish because the fish was still little confused and dazed. She swallows the fish whole then she swims back, looking really pleased. "So start out with small fishes in the bushes then work my way up just like I work on my speed.." She recites what she just learned and nods. "Got it!" She beams happily.

Zulu giggled lightly at Sabine's next response, and felt compelled to comment on her childish talk. But at least she understood the difference between the land and the sea, and how horrid it was when venturing out of the water. "The sun is enjoyable from down here, but that's about it." Lifting her eyes up gently, she noticed some small rays piercing down around them. "And, I really wouldn't call myself a princess but," she gracefully brought her eyes back on Sabine, "I appreciate the compliment." Sabine, if anything, would probably grow up looking like a princess herself!
Zulu was silent as Sabine chased around the smaller fish, but a pleased expression met her lips as she watched the successfulness of her hunt. "Very good, now was that tasty?" It was sort of funny to watch someone so young hunt on their own, but that was how she learned herself. It really was the best way, and Zulu was able to grow up and do things on her own easily.
"Now you will have to teach your brother all about fish as well. Fish can really be a drag to follow, since they zig zag and flap around to just get out of sight. But with time, you will learn how similar each fish is, despite breeds and such." And with a light bob of her head, Zulu suddenly felt as though she knew everything. How strange, to be sharing her knowledge so openly like this. It was sort of nice to have company, so she decided not to let it bother her mind too much.

Sabine bobs her head as she looks up at the few rays of sunlight that successfully went through the water with a smile on her face. "I would have to agree with you there, Zulu.. the sunlight is very beautiful and perfect down here.. I can't imagine being out on the land, under really really hot sun!" Her eyes went wide at the thought of being under really hot sun that will dry her out instantly . Her body shook with shudders as she shakes the thoughts out of her head. Sabine beams happily that Zulu likes her compliments as she peeks up at the kelpie fondly.
Sabine looks very proud as she beams at Zulu. She licks her muzzle as she looks at Zulu with happy look on her face. "Yep! Very tasty.. I just love the taste of that fish." She shifts her eyes around slowly to see if there is any fishes around for her to hunt, she is already learning about so many different things. Her tail twitches excitedly as she looks at Zulu, finally considering her one of her friends and teacher.
"I would have to agree with you there, Zulu.." Sabine crinkles her nose up as she remember few of her attempts to hunt. She just shakes her head and grins eagerly at Zulu. "Yep! I will share the information you taught me with my brother because I don't want to leave him out." She looks sad for a moment because of the thought of leaving him out breaks her heart. "Oh!! speaking of food... you told me that there is different variety of plants that can be very tasteful.. can you show me some?" She smiles up at Zulu eagerly, excited to learn about all of those things.

Zulu was starting to feel herself get exhausted from this little child. Maybe she did things differently when she was younger, but she was certainly not this bouncy! Or rather.. maybe she was just being grumpy as usual, and with a shrug, she strode away from the child, only to sniff around at some of the plants. "Sure sure, let me look around for some good stuff." Man, the kids these days. Zulu was really starting to feel old.
At first she was having some nasty luck, and all of the plants she was finding were pretty nasty themselves! But then, things were starting to clear up for her, and she stopped by a reddish looking patch of wiggling leaves. "Come over here, Sabine."
When it looked as though the child had swam towards her, Zulu then said, "These are easy to remember, since they are this dark shade of red. Here, bite into one of the leaves, and see you if you like the flavor. I think this plant has a delicious tang, but everyone is different I suppose." And with a shrug, she awaited to see what the little one would say. Zulu thought the plant would be a good one to show, since she loved its taste when she was growing up. It was sort of sweet, and it had delicate feel on her mouth.

Sabine looks at Zulu with eager eyes as she waits patiently for the kelpie to sniff out some good plants so she could sample them and learn about which plants to eat and which plants to avoid. She tries her best not to bounce around eagerly because she is very happy to be learning all of those things before she becomes an adult and make herself look like a fool if she doesn't know how to hunt or know how to pick out good plants. Her eyes went crossed as she tries to look at the small fish that swam up to her nose and she giggles at the ticklish sensation of the fish 'kissing' her muzzle.
When she hears Zulu's voice, Sabine swam over with a silly grin on her face because she was very happy about everything and the fact that the fish 'kissed' her on the nose. That never happened to her before! She looks at the reddish looking patch of wiggling leaves curiously then she leans in tentatively toward the leaves. "Ok.." She grins at Zulu then she bites into one of the leaves then chews on it. Zulu was right.. there is a delicious and sweet tang in that kind of leaves and she took another bite of the leaves excitedly. "Yum!! Its very delicious" She exclaims as she turns her head toward Zulu with a smile on her face. "Thank you very much for teaching me about all of this stuff!"

Zulu shrugged her shoulders nonchantly, and stepped a few steps away from the child. "It really wasn't a big deal, I am happy to share the knowledge." Since.. the child didn't seem to have any parents, and that was no good. At least now she could save herself from starvation and such, since those were threatening for youngsters.
"Now, are you sure you are going to be alright? The ocean is a big place." A big place that could sometimes be extremely dangerous! "Just makes sure you take care of your brother, since you have enough knowledge now." It would be nice if Sabine grew up into adulthood, and survived throughout being a child. Zulu never understood how some could thrive without proper parenting, but some had to do what they had to do.
"I will be impressed if I see you swimming around here later on, and in a grown up body. Then I would know if you had succeeded in really taking care of yourself." With a light wink, Zulu imagined what a grown Mer even looked like. Would the tail grow bigger? It would probably be quite the site.
