My sister gets out of school at noon on Thursdays because of the 1/2 day, okay? I'm in high school, so I've still got until 3:30pm. I get home at 4:15 and go upstairs to my room to get my homework out. Sitting there on my computer desk is my (incomplete but still beautiful) Tardis model, with a note that is obviously my sisters' writing, and a pair of scissors on the floor. My Tardis has been horribly cut and jabbed at with the scissors, and punched through everywhere. One of the side trim on the top of the Tardis is nearly ripped off.

It took me over four hours to get all the cardboard and carefully measure it and then get the little pieces and align them and tape them so it would be beautiful.

My sister is obviously jealous that I'm a big Doctor Who fan (she's mad that I saved up for some books and the DVD set, and I've got all you guys on Gaia who love chatting about it with me.

My immediate reaction was shock and horror, then I burst into tears and showed my mom. She didn't care one bit and told me to tell my dad when he gets home. Then my emotions dissolved into sheer anger and rage.

FOUR HOURS.
Ruined in the space of five minutes.

It wasn't even on display in my room. It was hidden behind my gigantic computer monitor, in the corner of my room. (My entire room had been ransacked by the jealous thief again, with drawers opened and everything lying around and out of place)

This happens every other Thursday or so. She gets three hours alone every Thursday (I'm at school) and at least three times a week I've got tennis practice after school.

How on earth am I supposed to protect my room? I've got a locking filing cabinet, but she's pulled it open so often that it's broken and useless now. She goes through everything and then my parents stick up for her because she always says I go through her room. (I'm hardly ever at home with free time because of school, church and tennis) She's the favorite of the family and that will most likely never change.

My IRL friends know her for what she truly is. It's not exactly my fault if I'm infuriated that she gets to go through my personal things any time she wants. I can't lock my door, and I've got nowhere that I can safely hide anything. Even my computer has two separate passwords.

Please give me any advice possible, or just say something to calm me down. I really really need it at the moment, since my dad won't even get home from work for another hour.

I am trying to be very very calm. And the only reason I am trying to be so very very calm is that the mind is a delicate thing. scream

My dad just got home. I showed him everything and he doesn't care. He also doesn't believe a word I say. My mom left the house to take my sister to a PARTY. Now my dad is driving off with my little sister to go have dinner and I'm stuck at home again.

All because I got so upset over my work getting destroyed and my own parents not caring about it or believing me. He just basically tells me to shut up, stop ranting, and go make myself dinner.
Now I'm sobbing almost hysterically, in my room, by myself. In a house, by myself.

WTF?! That's so unfair! I hate when parents do that! They don't believe anything you do and then they faun over the other sibling like they're some kind of freakin' angel! And they don't even get in trouble when they do something like that! scream

Thank you so much!

My dad has the nerve to insinuate that I did it and signed the note just to blame my sister! That is hardly what you would call shoddy workmanship either! I'm not gonna pour that much effort into it and then destroy it, and even if I did, they never believe me anyways.... confused

WTF? Why in the world would you destroy your own TARDIS? That's so stupid to think like that! D<

I say you buy a lock for you door, with a key. It worked for another friend of mine, her brother never got into her crap again.

Your sister is a real brat, though obviously she knows how to hide that side of her when the parents are around. It's rather unfortunate that your parents have blinded themselves into believing she's some sort of perfect angel. I'm almost tempted to say the next time she pulls something like that you should take measures into your own hands and beat the crap out of her, but obviously that would end up reinforcing your folks' opinion that you're the problem.

Ah, well, at least you'll be free of her once you go to college.

A pity about your TARDIS. It was looking pretty nice.

You took that very well, if it were me, I would have flown into a rage gone to her room, kicked the door open (regardless of its being locked or not) and destroyed everything I saw.

Thats awful that she did that, but look on the (mildly) bright side, at least she didnt wait until you were done

There are reasons I'm always quite content to be an only child. smile
You could try to trap her--get photo evidence of her at work or something.

I too am an only child, but I can fully understand why you're so upset. It just goes to show that she has no respect for you, your things or the time and effort you put into stuff. She also is obviously seeking attention.

How much younger than you is she? From my experience of friends with younger siblings, the older ones are meant to set the examples for the younger and the younger ones can't do anything wrong in their parents' eyes. I realise this is completely unfair, but that's the way of the world.

I would just like to also point out that, no matter how upset or angry you are, REVENGE IS NOT THE ANSWER! As Hairy says, that would just back up the image that your parents have of you being the troublemaker.

The only thing I can think of is to carry valuable stuff with you. If you have a locker at school and it is big enough, take your stuff with you, keep it in your locker then bring it home at night so she can't get to it.

I've actually gone and beaten the crap out of her for ruining one of the posters on my wall before..all it did was make me feel a little better... I wouldn't dare do it now because it would ruin my only chance to go to see the movie that came out today (with Eccleston in it) with my best friend.. *sigh*

And I'm only being nice because I can't definitely prove it's her. I've got two younger sisters.. I'm 15, the one I suspect of ransacking my room (yet again) is 12, and then a 7 year old who could very well have done it.

Whenever I go somewhere I take whatever I can fit into a small carry bookbacg, although I have to leave the big stuff behind....which means my fragile Tardis is stuck at home.. the thing is made from cardboard and scotch tape. Literally.

Oh, and my school is a private school, the lockers are wooden with no door, and I've got no room for anything extra.. besides she can just walk in and take stuff out after school easier than going into my room... I just simply wait until she's asleep or on the computer, then be my quiet stealthy self and get it back. ^^

Thanks for the support. I know that you guys actually know what a Tardis is, therefore you care a bit more. neutral I really appreciate it.

Now I think I'm going to go rant about Last of the Timelords now. eek
