Amari hated it. He hated thinking back to the past, to his long-lost childhood. He hated thinking of how much he had loved life then, how young and handsome he was. Yes, life hadn't started out grand, but then he had become a lone rogue, flirting and sailing with the wind. Then he had met friends and more importantly...Maawio.
His mate. His beautiful, golden, mate who brought his life to a complete and utter stand still. He loved her and he loved her still. Even though she was gone...
His heart ached with pain of her loss. Oh it ached so terribly that he wished he could lie down and die. He didn't know where she was or why she had gone. All he knew was that he was alone. Half of him pondered with the thought of visiting Asikari but deep down he wondered whether there was any point. Asi...was he still the same? Was he still with his beloved mate?
He lay at the borders of the pridelanders watching the sun rising up from the horizon to change the colours of the sky. The day was beautiful but to Amari, nothing looked beautiful anymore. He smudged tears away with a huge paw and dragged himself up into a sitting position. No, that wasn't true. He had his children and he knew without them he never would have gotten through this.
Six children. He smiled. And in all of them he saw Maawio and that kept him sane. It kept him smiling to keep his heart from breaking. Yes, life did go on, even when one had half a soul torn away. He sighed and glanced out to the horizon.
Rogue lands. How long was it since he had been out there? Too long. He stood then and curled his tail upwards. Where would he go if he wandered from here? He glanced back at the pinnacle of rock and sighed.
What was he supposed to do?

Her white pelt seemed to reflect the colors of the rising sun as a rogue lioness wandered the lands just beyond the Pridelands border. She had never been here. She had heard about it from Uri, who knew about it from the small lion he talked to from time to time. It was suppose to be a huge pride of lions. The idea of a huge pride seemed interesting, as Dimu had no idea how many would be there. Thirty? Seventy? One hundred?
Oh well. Dimu had no intention of trying to find out. There was one pride she was heading or, and it wasn't this one. It was the pride of the Dawn Walkers. The pride she would raise her cubs in, but not until the vulture problem was taken care of. For now her precious sons all lived with their father in the Cheetah lands.
She paused in her steps past the large sillohette of the prides rock as she spotted another lion. She raised a brow and regarded him for a moment as he looked back. "Leaving home to search out something?" She inquired, not assuming he would answer, but deeming him safe, and un likely to attack. He seemed o be a rogue, too small to be a firekin, and he did not carry the reds, whites, or blacks she had come to recognize as firekin colors.

He didn't start at her voice. In fact, living in such a large pride meant one was rarely left alone for too long. Trying not to let on that he was completely miserable he put on his best smile and turned his head up to her. "Well, hello there Miss." He bowed his head slightly. "I don't recognise you, are you a traveller?" Oh how he missed his travelling days.
Love had tamed his paws, brought him to settle here. Oh but how he missed being so carefree, wandering the lands as he pleased. "Maybe I will, though I don't know where. It has been a long time since I was a rogue...maybe I don't have what it takes anymore." He sighed and dipped his head.
But there was nothing keeping him here. His children were grown up and independant and his mate...his mate gone.
"Maybe it's best I stay here after all."
