"Duu de duuuu..."

The lioness hummed happily, swishing her tail. It was clear to anyone that saw her that she was in a particularly good mood. Then again, why wouldn't she be? She had a great lion she could relax with and talk to, she had just promised her best friend's daughter that they'd go exploring someday... Toro's life had very few bumps in it, but right now, things felt exceptionally good.

The only thing that could make it better was some water.

And there it was, a crystal clear little creek, filled with cool, delicious water. The lioness purred, hopping forward with a skip in her step before lowering her muzzle and lapping at the water. Perfect, she thought.

Jua'randa enjoyed nothing else then meeting new lions, but with all the ones he had met recently, he had certainly calmed down in his over zealous excitement that often sent strangers packing. No longer attention starved, he was content with casual conversation rather then the desperate sort of longing he had exhibited a week ago. Needless to say, as he stepped past the line of grass that his the creek from view, it took him a few moments to notice the brown lioness who had also chosen this as a watering hole.

Thirsty, Jua considered his options before purring a brief greeting, "Hullo." It wasn't a question, merely an acknowledgement before he stepped forward to lap the cool water himself. He was close to the female, close enough to notice the spots on her cheek, but just out of swiping distance should his presence be unwelcomed.

Tail flicking from side to side at his rear, he wasn't too worried about being attacked as the lioness simply seemed to be vibrating with good vibes. Lifting his head, he smiled as he spoke once again, "Good day?"

"Hello!" she replied, her voice bright. She had not expected to see anyone else here, but it was certainly a pleasant surprise. On top of everything else, perhaps she'd make a new friend!

She flicked her tail, smiling as she tilted her head at him. "Ah, yeah, very," she said, chuckling. So good, in fact, that she was too busy relishing in it that she didn't even bother to flirt. It was pretty uncharacteristic of her, but after all... she had a pretty great guy already, right?

"My name is Toroka."

Her eager response made his smile widen. Happy greetings always made for good days, and he felt his own day brightening in her obviously blissful presence. Dipping his head in hullo, he gave his own gentle laugh as he responded, "Glad to hear it. Mind if I ask the source of the cheeriness?" He was more interesting in giving her an appropriate measure of empathy. Had she had cubs? Made a good kill? Was it simply a good day? If congratulations were in order, he would love to give them.

Letting his tail curl around his forepaws, his smile was broad as he gave his own name, "Jua'randa. It's a pleasure to meet you, Toroka."

Toro flicked her head to the side, letting her bangs fall over one eye.

"The usual, you know," she said brightly, chuckling. "Good friends, new friends, love..."

She sighed happily, sitting down. "Oh, it's silly to be telling a stranger, I know, but my own friends... well, they found love long ago. I can tell them, and trust me, I have, but it's nothing new to them like it is to me." Again, she laughed, though now it was more of a girlish giggle as she blushed underneath her fur.

"Really, I'm sorry... Jua'randa. It's nice to meet you too and I guess I shouldn't be bothering you with this. I'm so happy, I guess it's hard to keep anything in!"

He could help the way his lips curled in a midly flirtatious (and wildly amused) smile. Even if the lioness was in love, her attitude was contagious. How could one not help but be joyful in return? He noted that love was mentioned last and decided to act on that, though her apology and other words halted him from doing so immediately. Her girly giggle made him chuckle, eyes creased as he shook his head, "No, don't apologise! It's wonderful to see someone so happy."

He nodded curtly, more so to draw attention to something rather than agree, "So, love, then?" Winking, his tail curled to lick his ankles gently as he mused, "He's quite the lucky lion to have someone to cheer him so readily, I'm sure."

Her enthusiasm was endearing. She seemed as carefree as a cub, which Jua responded accordingly to. He enjoyed the company of those who seemed to truly get the most out of life, and she seemed just that. "Glass half-full today and tomorrow, I hope. You're not silly at all! What fun would it be if a stranger couldn't share your excitement?" He shrugged, "I am not like your friends, love is a stranger to me, too."

"Yep, love," she said, chuckling again. Why couldn't she stop? It was spilling out of her like water from a flooded river. "I suppose he is lucky, but I count myself luckier. It's a fine change to be so excited about something all day, every day!"

"Ohh," she said at his comment. "I'm sure you'll find it. I believe now that everyone does. And hey, if I can find it, surely anyone can!"

Jua certainly didn't want her to stop! He couldn't remember the last time he'd met someone so thoroughly happy with life. It was contagious and he felt very much at ease, rather than on edge and worrying about who might jump out at him. Of course, this lovely lioness' apparent love might take a jealous swing at him, but he wasn't thinking about that. Chuckling, he inclined in his head in agreement, "Happiness certainly makes the days go by easier. Especially when it lasts." He smiled broadly at her own laughter, "Though being excited about someone rather than something is certainly better."

At that he gave her a subtle wink and another bit of laughter before he responded once again, "Settling down someday would be good, but I'm in no rush. I'll wait and bask in your happiness until then!"

"True, true. And if it isn't great enough on it's own, well, it seems it brings new friends, too!"

Toro flicked a paw in the water, too overcome with excitement to sit still. "Oh, I'm sorry, see, I need to stop talking about myself so much. Where are you from, Jua'randa?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:23 pm

"Conversations, stories and general good times." He agreed, one paw lifting slightly in his own restless excitement as his tail swayed over the dirt. As stated, the emotion was contagious.

Watching her paw flick the water, he laughed before raising his amber eyes to her and shake his head, "No, don't apologise!" Nevertheless, she'd asked a question and it was polite to answer, "No where in particular, just a rogue. Yourself?"

"The same." She chuckled. "I've never had much interest in prides - great for socializing, but it's a bit restricted for my taste. I like being free to go where my paws take me, even if I always return to one place." Toro swished her tail, looking back at the water. "I've made my home near the Pridelands, but that's mostly for convenience. My best friend and brother live there, and now it's fairly close to Uovu."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 7:12 pm

He smiled at her explanation before nodding his agreement, "I have the wandering, my mother told me once. It's in my blood." He shrugged, his grin broadening as he did so, "Maybe I'll settle down one day, when I've found someone to settle with."

Winking at her at that, he leaned heavily on one paw before glancing towards the Pridelands, "I've considered settling near here. Or atleast wandering closer. Plenty of gentle creatures, and pretty lionesses." He gave her a feline grin. "What more likely place to find love?"

Toro couldn't help but smile. "Perhaps it's in my blood, too." Having never known either parent, she didn't really know. "But I think that settling down for the right lion - or lioness, in your case - is a good idea."

She purred. "This is a great place. Sure, every place has it's problems..." she thought of Roho, "but such a big, welcoming pride is sure to provide security and comfort. Oh, and lionesses aren't bad either." She winked.

Chuckling at her wink, he shook his head, "'fraid I've not met any problems yet - or seen any, either." He lifted his shoulders in a shrug once again as he tilted his head, "Lionesses and good company certainly make up for any problems. Security and comfort are definitely benefits, so that only leaves the settling down that's a problem."

The sound of her purr brought his own gruff rumbling. It was the sound of mutual contentment, "If the right lioness is out there, hopefully she is close." If a lion could feel his biological clock ticking, Jua did. Even if he was still quite young.

"Well, I hope it'll stay that way, then!" she said, voice still chipper. "Life is so much better without any conflicts."

Toro smiled at his rumbling, still purring herself. "Good luck finding someone, Jua'randa. A lioness would be lucky to find a nice lion like you." She thought of Uovu, and how different he was from Jua, but smiled nonetheless. She and Uovu were alike and she liked him very much, even if he wasn't as openly friendly as this lion.

She stood up, shaking herself off. "I suppose I should get going. Perhaps we'll meet again?" The lioness genuinely hoped so. She liked Jua, thought that he could make a very good friend.
