Marahute had met Amary a few days ago, and had the feeling of having maybe a true friend.

Mara was a loner. She lived on her own, she ate by herself, and when she was upset, she cried herself to sleep.
She never had anyone who came out of their way to see her really.

But today was better. The sun was shining, and the grass had been made oh so green from the storms that they had been having recently.

The clouds were gone, and a slight breeze ruffled Marahute's mane.
The golden strands topped with chocolate color danced in the wind and she smiled, letting her chocolate colored orbs fill with light.

It had been so long since she had been this happy. It had been nice.
The weather had been cooling lately. Mother said winter would be here soon. But now it was the Harvest Season, where mothers favorite was becoming ripe.
Mother loved to munch on pumpkins.. and the white man had taught their tribe before..

So now, she was looking forward to the Harvest Season.

Sighing a great breath, she smiled again.
Today was going okay so far.

Guilian was intrigued.

In his life, he'd seen and experienced his share of original situations; however, meeting up with his daughter yesterday afternoon had started him off on one of the most interesting yet.

She was a minx, his little Amary; he'd been able to tell that she had something amusing on her mind from the way she was acting, but beyond teasing grins and repetitions of 'you'll have to wait and see', he'd been able to get no information out of her. Just orders to go over to a specific meadow where an old acquaintance was looking forward to seeing him.

He didn't know why he indulged her so. Or wait, yes he did. Because she was his baby girl and he adored her. But beside that.

At any rate, he'd know soon enough; unless he missed his guess, he was coming out over that same meadow now, his bright red form riding the breeze as he surveyed the green expanse below. He didn't see anything at the moment, but Amary had said he might have to hunt.

He could do with a hunt though; it would provide amusement, if nothing else. That in mind, he coasted down towards a little knoll, alighting with his characteristic grace. Now then...

She was walking. Open air was cool, and it lead to the watering hole. If she didnt keep up her pace, she might be parched by the time she arrived to the small lake..

Keeping her head high, she scanned the area for the direction she needed to go. She walked this way many times, but she always felt safer when she scanned where she was going.
Call her paranoid.

Her eyes were trained on the horizon, and they danced back and forth from ground to sky.

"I think Im on the right path.."
She told herself..

But then something caught her eyes. It was bright. Brighter than the apples in the trees, and brighter than the blood she had shed as she fought Naina.
She was too far away to know for sure what it was.. But.. God was it red.

She adjusted her path, to the path of the bright red being. She didnt need water that badly anyway..

Her wounds from Naina had almost cleared up. She had dark coloration of bruises here and there, but the blood from the bites had dried, and the bites themselves, merely bruises now.

Wait.. Was that?

"Guilian?"

As he folded back his wings, Guilian deftly ran a wing through his mane, the action smoothing the bits cast awry by the wind and making the whole thing fall gracefully about his shoulders in its usual immaculate curls. Even without looking, he knew it looked proper; he ought to know by now when something FELT right.

Just like he ought to know when he wasn't alone.

Before his name was even completely off of her lips, Guilian was turning to look over at the golden mare, a wide smile forming as he realized he'd been identified. There was a familiarity to that golden coat, even if it was in a sadly non-romantic way...or was there?

Familiar, yes, but not completely. Not like this.

Straightening up, Guilian was soon moving down the path to meet the mare, his black eyes glinting with a pleased emotion as he stopped before her, giving her a smile. "My apologies, Chica; at first glance, I was under the impression that I was in the company of Esper-Chica, yet I see by the richer tint to your mane that I am mistaken. Perhaps I would be correct in assuming you are related, no? Perhaps her sister?"

Oh wow. His accent and way of speech, well that was something mother had never said anything about. Mother always spoke of how awesome Guilian was.. But she had never said anything about the way he looked. She was leaving her own opinion out of it so that Marahute could one day gather her own.

He was a striking fellow, (and how mother ever let this one get away she wasnt too sure.)

"Uh.. Marahute. My name is Marahute, and I am the daughter of Esperanza."

Marahute said proudly.
She loved her mother, and her mother loved this stallion. Everything seemed okay in her books.

Marahute found herself fascinated by his curls and red pelt.

She felt like a lovestruck yearling.. Even if it wasnt love she was struck with.

''It's good to finally see you again.. I saw you once as a filly, and have always wondered about you since.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:33 pm

"Daughter, eh? Well, Marahute-Chica, I do believe I remember you, though I must say it's a shocking bit of information to know you are Esper-Chica's daughter. It almost makes me feel old, were it not for the happy knowledge that the young may grow to maturity but the mature remain such for ages." Giving the mare a smile, Guilian allowed his eyes to wander over Marahute's body from top to bottom, his gaze undeniably appreciative. "That said, it is a pleasure to see you again as well. It saddens me that your dear mother is not here as well, but perhaps you will pass along my most affectionate greetings the next time you see her, yes?"

Bringing his gaze back to hers, Guilian gave her a pleasant smile, satisfied with how things were going thus far, if a bit surprised at Marahute's identity. He didn't doubt that Esper had aged well herself; probably looked almost exactly like her daughter still, if he had to guess. But speaking of daughters...

"My daughter informed me that there was an old acquaintance of mine that wished to see me again, but I must admit the knowledge it is you is both unexpected and delightful, Marahute-Chica. Would it be too bold of me to inquire as to why, or was it just that my daughter made you think of me after all this time?" He wouldn't put that aside as an option; Amary was very much his child in looks. Though he wouldn't mind if there were other reasons!

Marahute smiled, seeing that he was appreciative of her looks, as well as he had been with mother. Well, least that was a good thing.

"I will indeed tell her you said hello. I shall make it as warm a greeting as possible, Mr. Guilian.''

She hadnt been offered his name, so she didnt say it as if it were informal. Oh yes, mother had taught her manners. Never use an informal name to someone who has not offered it as such.

His question made her knit her eyes together and think closely.
Why HAD she wanted to see him again? Surely it hadnt all been her mother.. She looked at him again, meeting his eyes with her chocolate ones.

''After seeing her, I knew you were still in the area! I wasnt sure WHERE I was as a filly, so I just remembered you as the first winged Id ever seen.. I wanted to see you for my own reasons."
PostPosted: Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:57 pm

"My thanks, Chica...but please, call me Guilian. 'Mr. Guilian' sounds so very formal, and I can't say I'm a fan of formality." To put it mildly. If one was concerned about formalities, then it was almost impossible to relax and enjoy one's self, and that was a major tragedy.

But hopefully they'd ba able to get past that shortly. The last thing he needed to be mulling about while conversing with an attractive mare was formality, after all.

Though if more comments like that of her reasons for seeing him were following, he doubted he could be anything but amused. At the remarks about Amary, he began to grin, though he had to set Marahute right on one thing. "Ah, but my dear daughter is not always a proper indication of my whereabout, my dear Marahute-Chica; she goes her ways, and I go mine...though I have to agree she is good at finding me when necessary. And truly, I am glad to be of service. Hopefully the passage of time hasn't rendered me unimpressive for all my original significance!"

To facilitate a clear answer, Guilian struck a pose that he'd always felt facilitated what he hoped was proper admiration of his body, head up, leg extended, wings partially spread. "Or have I become a figure of amusement now rather than awe? Though if the latter is the case, then feel free to lie to me, as I doubt my ego could take it." This last bit, along with a wink, showed just how seriously (or rather, NOT) he was taking this, but that was his way. Test the waters, as it were!

She smiled, and thought about Amary. She had been a pleasant mare, and indeed, she got her personality from the stallion.

Now, he was sure a lady killer, but consider her the slain. She was in awe of this stallion, and the fact that the word she was describing herself as in being, he was asking her, was amazing.

She got wide eyed and shook her head, grinning again, wildly.

''Guilian it is then."

She smiled, blushing a bit, after looking over him and his own frame. Muscles bound in a red firey pelt.. Mmm..

'' Oh no! You are still one to gawk at Guilian.. I remember that from whence I met you.''

Marahute had met him so long ago, but she always considered him quite the looker. She almost felt as if a childhood idol was in front of her.

If there was one thing Guilian adored...well actually, scratch that. There numerous things he adored, and he couldn't be so cruel to the others as to say there was only one. But he DID enjoy seeing mares react to him, on whatever level that heppened to be.

In Marahute's case, it was almost endearing, she was so obvious. The wide-eyed look, the highly visible flush in her golden cheeks...yep, she liked what she saw, alright. Beautiful.

Though he made absolutely no indication of that knowledge, beyond perhaps a widening of his smile. "Delightful, Chica, and I can honestly say you've made my day. Perhaps it's a trifle vain of me, but no one ever likes to assume that they've passed their prime."

With that, he resumed his normal posture, then strolled closer to the mare. "But such kind and charming words from such a lovely creature as yourself are enough to warm the heartstrings, Chica, indeed it is; for that you have my thanks." As he approached the mare, Guilian leaned in and gave her a nuzzle on the cheek, a simple, basic gesture on its own, but one with a slightly ulterior motive. He'd love to see that blush again, after all, and was she the sort of mare to get flustered? Or would she dtay poised and just turn crimson? Ah, he loved the excitement of anticipation...

But close as he was, he couldn't help but notice something else. "I see you have been relatively recently wounded, Marahute-Chica; how are your injuries faring? Still aching, still causing you trouble?" As he spoke, the stallion reached out to trace around one dark bruise with the tip of his wing, frowning as he studied the spot and those like it that dotted the mare's body. They looked almost like they'd been inflicted by-

"Chica, were you attacked?"

His words were endearing, and she couldnt help but blush further.

Shaking her head, hoping to rid herself of the blush, and the awkward filly stage she thought herself to be in, she looked back at him, from under strands of golden, chocolate tipped mane.

As he nuzzled her cheek, she swooned.

"Oh my.'' She said, grinning, but blushing further. She couldnt help it this time. But damn it! Just when she had gotten rid of the initial blush.

"You must think me a complete mess.. Nothing like my mother.''

She stammered, looking back at him, and throwing her head back to put her mane back behind her ears like she liked it.

When he got closer, she got self-conscious. Oh boy..

He had seen her bruises. Her.. ailments..

''Oh my, I suppose I look terrible for it now."

She sighed. No way he would be attracted to anything that looked like it came from a steamroller's path.

''Yes.. I was attacked by a 'friend' of mine, who no longer is truly anyone to me.. She got me pretty good. I couldnt fight her.. I just couldnt.''

She could hardly meet his eyes as she looked to the ground.

The blushes were as delightful as he'd expected, but he was distracted now by the sight of the unsightly dark patches on the mare's body. Her coat isguised most of the signs of violence, but that he could see any traces at all bothered him. To say nothing of the fact that she had been attacked at all...and by a friend and mare at that! What was happening to this world?

Sighing, Guilian drew back a bit from the mare, turning his attention from her injuries back to her face as she murmured her seemingly self-conscious words. Few things discouraged him as much as an upset mare, so it was hardly surprising that he moved to correct her. "To refrain to lift a hoof to another, even when provoked, is a noble thing, Chica. While it pains me to see you injured so, the fact that you suffered in the name of consideration only serves to identify you as a mare of strong morals. Injuries will fade, but your personal pride will only grow."

As he spoke, Guilian moved to cup her chin with the tip of his wing, making an effort to lift her chin from its position of shame. "You have nothing to be ashamed of, Chica...and I hardly think you're a mess. There is no rule that mother and daughter must be alike, don't you think? Now, let us not worry of comparisons and just be ourselves, yes?"

She smiled, and nodded. He was right. She had thought herself weak for not being able to fight Naina back.. For not being able to keep her anger up long enough.

But he spoke true words, and she knew it deep down.

Now, as the subject of her mother came up, she smiled again, her face lighting up.

No, no one said mothers and daughters had to be alilke, but Esper and Mara generally were.

But she would be herself now, because after all.. She had never met anyone like Guilian before.. She wouldnt want him to think her completely retarded.

'' Okay. True selves it is."

She felt him cup her chin with his wing, and she looked into his dark eyes.

''Thanks Guilian. I appreciate those words.''

She had been alone for so long.. she had taken to crying herself to sleep over the thing that had happened between her and Naina.

"That's a good girl." Smiling, Guilian gave Marahute's cheek a pat, pleased to see that the light was coming back. He'd meant what he said, but that didn't mean he cared to dwell. Even in his own times of trouble, he tried to be positive; if you let things bog you down, then you'd never be able to get out of that trouble.

And he'd rather be positive than negative and see others that way as well.

"So, in the light of positivity; aside of trying to not fight olf comrades, what have you been doing with your life, Chica? Followed your mother's footsteps and settled down, perhaps?" Might as well get the obvious questions out of the way, after all!

''Oh no! Im not settled. I had someone named Cerek, and hes a really good friend, and he said if I fail to find anyone, he'll give me foals.. But im not settled down.. I havent met anyone special.''

She smiled and thought of Cerek, and then her eyes went back to Guilian.
He was so beautiful, and he knew it. He knew that she was affected by his charm and good looks.
And she loved it.

'' I havent done much. Ive stayed in this area since I was little.. I really.. Dont even have any friends. Im moreso..A loner of sorts."

She looked at Guilian and smiled again. Seemed to be she was full of smiles today.

''What of you? You're lovely daughter, that must mean you've settled down as well right?''
