It's not for the challenge O.O
At least wasn't intended to be XDD
I don't do horses usually though I really love them (used to be a rider;[ )
It's just a sketch, so it's rough XDD
The wings position was so hard and I couldn't find any stocks (bird stocks~ really helpful biggrin ) or something to help so I had to guess T^T
I didn't use any (bluh forgot the word may edit laterXD ) so the anatomy may be all wrong~ but I love the head and tail biggrin

I used to looove drawing horses when I was little. What's happened to me? :'< *nostalgia*

My knowledge of horse anatomy is probably worse than yours, since haven't drawn any since I was 8, and even those drawings were probably terrible. However I do think bottom part of the legs (err.. don't know the terminology) are a bit thicker than what I'm used to seeing. Usually, the legs start off really thick and just keep tapering off (so even if there is a lot of fur, the hooves should be relatively small)

The action in the picture is really great, however, and beautifully portrayed. Makes me wanna draw horses again~ Sorry I can't give much more advice on this piece.

There are a few breeds of horses with huge fet. Like those ones you see pulling sleighs in the winter... they're not delicate looking like jumping horses, they're broad and strong looking.... (I really don't know the names of any kind of horse breed.. thingies)

honestly I think this is a really good picture. And I know what you mean about wings. Aside from other drawings, it is really hard to find good reference pictures. I don't know what to suggest that you fix, because it all looks good to me. I like how the image isn't centered, the tail draws your eye down towards the horse. NIce =D
