Newcomer's Lounge Make yourself known
There is a specific introductions thread in the Tavern.
This thread is for all newcomers to chat to us here on the guild (and for anyone else who just wants to jump in really):
If you're confused about the layout, ask here. Anyone is happy to tell you a bit more about the place.
Any other specific questions you have, feel free to ask here too.
Other members are NOT to just make this a random chat thread. It's for newcomers to chat to us.
More to come... But you can start posting now...don't wait for the rest of the info to pop up. Just come in and chat.

Each subforum is given a set of rules, although many of them are the same. There is a thread in this area "The Foyer" called The Directory, which tells you briefly about the subforums (very briefly) - it's not worth it to say too much about them when you can go there and see how it works for yourself. It's pretty much a thread that tells you what each area is for.
I've started a Guild FAQ in the Storeroom, but I've not yet had the time to spend on building it unfortunately. It'll be there at some point hopefully in the not too distant future.

Hello peoples!
As much as it pains me to say this - I know I'm going to have to lurk for a little while, I'll probably post a tad here and there - but before I get really active.... I'm just going to have to lurk.
There is a TON of stuff going on around here. I've read a bunch about the rules and *if you're new read this!* stuff. I'm going to go look around some more - but I'm happy to be here!

Sorry that it's a little bit confusing. I didn't want to merge areas too much, so they've been made individual. If you have any questions, by all means ask. I hope you get a feel of the place soon and get stuck into participating, but I understand that it's a bit "WTF?" like when you first get here. smile

Kirtap Reglip Hi there, i am an experienced Role-Player here on gaia, and seeing as you were the one who sent me the invite to this guild...i was just wondering exactly, and if you can answer me this question, that would be great, but what is it exactly that this guild can 1.)Offer me as far as a fan of Fantasy and 2.) Goals/Accomplishments i can hope to obtain while here. Thanks so much if you can answer me. As a fan of fantasy, this guild would offer you plenty of opportunities to discuss your favourite subjects from the genre in length. The Fantasy Conference has a few discussions going on, but we always want more of them in there if you can offer any. I like to learn what different thoughts people have to different aspects of fantasy, and how they would explain things that most just wouldn't think about.
For example the thread about vampires. I've looked into detail about how they could physically work, because it's an interesting concept and I want to make things realistic. Saying things are the way they are and not being able to or not intending to think of any kind of explanation is a kind of cop out. The same goes for dragons. There are many subjects that we can discuss in length.
History is also closely related to fantasy in many ways, so there's a historical subforum as well (the Museum). That area is mainly just to discuss history before the 20th century, but there's also a lot that can be discussed about how it relates to fantasy.
If you're a writer, there's the Writer's Circle to consider. There are a lot of subjects to discuss on there relating to fantasy and history, but also mainly about HOW we write, where we get inspiration from, how we gain clarity, and how we get past certain stumbling blocks.
There's also the Games Room and Film & Anime Lounge which pretty much speak for themselves. Those areas tend not to be quite so much involved by means of in-depth discussions though.
In all, I think you could achieve a lot because you can figure out a lot about the subjects we're all interested in here, consider your own opinions and actually have fun talking about these things in general. Also, if you do like to write, you can get critique from other members and also give them advice.
I hope that helps.
