A prince rescues a princess from a tower guarded by a dragon. The typical fairy tale. But all is not happily ever after.
From the servent boy who is madly in love with the prince to the princess ill content at the approaching marrage, things are far from perfect. When the Prince learns that the Princess was locked in the tower to keep her from her lover, whom she was forbidden from seeing, he loves her enough to help her find this lover once again.
a lover who, once found, is discovered to be female. Though more then that, she is a woman who once disguised herself as a man and became a knight. She had fallen in love with the princess and was loved in return, despite knowledge of her gender...but when the truth slipped out to the court, the princess was taken from her.
Now she is on a quest to rediscover the lost gem of Aratica, both a valuable object, and a magical one...with the power to bring clarity to the subject of love. Now a strange party of four, A princess, her prince, her lover, and a servent deeply in love with his master, they seek out this gem, for the glory of their kingdoms and for their own use in understanding what should now be done amongst the four of them.
***
I will happily play any of these characters, so I'll wait while the others get claimed and see. A Few notes pertaining to the Prince in particular...
1. He hardly knows his servent boy exists. 2. He is so madly in love with the princess this decision to let her go won't come easy to him, but he must, because he loves her that much. 3. He dosen't get along with the knight. At all. Lots of snarking and sarcasm.
A few notes on the princess -
1. NOT a damsel in distress. Not that she really knows the first thing about defending herself, but she won't sit there just helplessly squirming if something grabs her...she has fingernails, and they are her primary defence tool. Always. 2. She dosen't reject the prince out of hand. She knows it is her duty to marry the one who rescues her, and she lives up to that duty. She's just very unhappy.
A few notes on the servent -
1. His love for the prince is not obvious...until you look in his eyes while he's watching, or thinking about him. He is the picture of formality and calm...but he's got a lot of crap going on inside him that, if a battle begins, he'll completly tear appart the enemy...because he just freakin' needs to tear up something. 2. He's there under the pretence of protecting the prince and his bride. Though not technecally a warrior, he's damn handy with knives and other forms of short blades.
A few notes on the knight- 1. She wants to hate the prince. Badly. She can't, he's way too nice. 2. Has never once looked at a male as something sexually attractive. Total lesbian as compaired to the rather bisexual princess. 3. She. Kicks. a**.
