The smoke colored lioness gnawed on the bone of a kill. It hadn't been hers, mind you, but she had found the dead thing and decided that she needed a meal. She was on the road, as always, heading back to a home that will be one of two things: Either bustling with life, or the remnants of what used to be. A slight shudder rippled through her at the very thought of it truly being dead. Though she didn't know of any survivors other than herself from the plague, Isi could hope. She had adored their culture and was not about to let it die. She had made up her mind last night; she had decided she would go back to those lands that so long ago she swore she'd never go back to. Isi's cub self tied only death to the lands, but now that she was older, she dreamt every night of the beat of those drums reverberating through her.
But even on the most driven quests, one must stop and take a breather. In reality, the act of stopping would only speed up her progress.

Padding along soundlessly was Nadra Zuri, a calm peaceful lioness, and unlike the other animal, she had no rhyme or reason to be heading in the direction that she was; other than it was the direction she was tempted to move in. Her slow pace carried her towards the other lioness. Nadra chirped to acknowledge that the stranger wasn’t alone any longer. She walked up a few meters away and stopped, in case this area was being claimed as territory, and simply not to be rude just inviting herself into another’s “comfort-bubble”. Her soft, and slightly seductive voice cut into the ambience of the jungle, ”Good evening stranger…”
Her white coat seemed to have a slight glow in the suns rays, which wasn’t surprising because of her perfectly clean and groomed coat. She took another step closer, hinting that she wasn’t a threat and nothing but friendly. Her eye’s graced over the other lionesses form and found a slight attraction to it. She seemed to have so much past, and so much energy that would only drive her to her goals. She could see this just from the way she held herself. There wasn’t any thing Nadra liked better in an individual than confidence over themselves.

Isi stopped chewing and looked up. In all honesty, she hadn't heard the approach of the stranger, which surprised her. Must've been all the thinking, distracted her senses, or so she thought.
"I've never seen a pure white lion before," Isi said truthfully. She'd seen mostly-white ones, but never pure white. Isi rose to her feet; she was mostly full anyway. "My name's Isithunzi," she dipped her muzzle a bit. "I'm done with this, if you're hungry," she said, giving her head a light jerk towards the leftovers. There was enough to make at least one more meal.

((OOC: In case you didn't know, Nadra Zuri means Rare Beauty.)) Watching her with interest she gave a friendly yet devilish grin, and started towards her to close up the gap between the two. She stopped only a few feet from her. She didn’t even acknowledge the corpse. This stranger had a different approach to conversation, and commented on Nadra’s coat. Interesting but there wasn’t any thing rude in doing so… ”And I’ve never seen an attractive lioness out this far from a pride.” Her own comment hinted towards her ‘awkward’ attraction to either gender of lion. How ever, she wasn’t trying to prove anything, but just give the relationship a wider horizon.
She nodded and gave her name, ”I am Nadra, Nadra Zuri, how ever; it seems you should bare this name.” She smiled playfully and sat down gracefully as she looked over to the meal, then back to Isithunzi. ”Thanks, but I’ve already eaten recently.”

Isi's tail twitched delicately behind her. "Nice to meet you, Nadra," she said while her mind did a backflip. What? W-what the heck?!? she asked herself in her head. Her face was one of fair confusion for a moment before she covered it up. No, Isi was unaware that some lions liked those of any gender, she'd never seen or heard one before. "Thank you," she offered, but her voice, no matter how she tried to hide it, was strained. Isi may have been a flirt, but only for males, she found this situation fairly... odd.
She was quick to change the subject. "How about yourself, you have a pride?" She asked with a smile, deciding that acting rediculously thick would rid her of the awkward situation. She didn't dislike Nadra, but just found the situation a tad uncomfortable.

Nadra realized that the other lioness was uncomfortable with the situation and too would just move on as it never happened, it was an attempt to see if she’d be interested and it was a pure denial. How ever, it wouldn’t direct Nadra to wish to avoid any more contact with the stranger. She smiled warmly and listened as she spoke, then spoke up again, but still in her slightly seductive tone, ”I belong to no one, for my sole is my own, how ever, things change over time…” She cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes slightly, ”And you?”
She had been traveling for quite some time, and there was little interaction so now would be a good time to take a little rest and maybe have a few good words traded. Maybe if possible, learn of where she was at this point.

"I belonged somewhere, I'm just a rogue now," she said fairly heartbroken. "I lived in a pride as a cub. We had drums and dances and songs; there was always some rhythm being pounded out there.... But then the plague hit, after our queen left for some rogue," she rolled her eyes. Sure, she could understand flirting, but leaving an entire pride? Why couldn't he have just stayed with the pride? She had always asked these questions, sometimes more vigorously than others, but she never got the answer. The lioness sighed. "Anyway, most of us died. I survived, I don't know if anyone else did; I have yet to find another past member. I'd love to be back again, but as I said, I'm not sure there's another living member. I can hope, but... for now, I'm a rogue," she said with a nod, the awkwardness completely lost.

Nadra listened and nodded to demonstrate that she understood what she was saying. The lioness straightened out her from as she sat and continued to listen. It seem that her first judgment was well placed; this stranger did have a past, and she was heading in a particular direction. For now it seemed that this stranger was just trying to pick up the pieces as she walked the path of memories… Off in the distance there was the sound of flocking birds, it was the harvest season again and all the plants where dropping there fruits. This was particularly Nadra’s favorite season, Because it was easy to guess where all the game was going to be.
She looked towards the birds as her ears folded back, then she turned back and gave a warm smile, seeing that talking about her past was some what painful still; to add to it, her past probably caused her to be so open about it, she hadn’t even known Nadra for any more than a couple of moments, and was telling her about the past she sought to discover. On the other hand, it made Nadra feel even that much more comfortable with this current situation, ”It’s that time of year again, the birds start heading to their different homes. It’s also a good way to see which direction your heading if you loose your way…”

Isithunzi was glad to have someone listen. It felt good to rid herself of this burden. She turned her eyes skyward as the lioness pointed out the birds. "I've never used that trick," she said honestly, thoughtfulness in her tone. That would be a good way to tell which way to go if she got lost. She never before really had a particular direction to go, so she never really got lost, but this would be a good way to redirect herself. "Thank you," she said, looking back down at the white form.

Isithunzi was one of those characters that people could really relate too. The kind of person who was trying to find who they really where, and where they truly belonged; Nadra Zuri respected her, it was a sad scenario, and Nadra could tell that the thank you was for more than just pointing out the birds, but for something more… Perhaps it was for not judging her so quickly, or maybe listening her out. It had to be expected that one couldn’t travel alone and let out all their past and troubles, more or less vent. She stood and walked over to Isithunzi, and put her shoulder into hers in a hugging manner. There wasn’t any thing sexual about the hug, but rather a comforting gesture, Then, after a few moments, took a step back, ”I’m sure you’ll find your way.”

Isi, though not expecting a hug, didn't pull away. She was glad to have made a friend. "I'm sure hoping so," she said with a nod. "I'm looking for just one more survivor... Just one would be enough, then we could recruit." She said, more to herself than to the other lioness. "Thanks for the support; I've been called crazy for hoping a dead pride could come back to life... Let alone trying to do so"
Yes, she was glad that not everyone thought her crazy.

Pulling away Nadra continued to smile and listen to the other, she sighed to herself lightly and sat down beside the other. ”I’m sure you’ll find more than one, then again… I don’t know the size of your pride before the plague hit. In any case, I’ll pray you meet some one soon, and even more so that it’s a male." Chuckling to herself then playfully bumping Isi, ”Then at least you’ll have one blood line of your original pride.”
Looking in the direction she was headed, Nadra Zuri closed her eyes in thought, then looked to Isi, ”It isn’t crazy to think that a dead pride could come back to life, but how I see it; is a fragmented pride regrouping.”

Isi smiled at the female's joke, laughing lightly. Yes... a bloodline would be good. She hardly remembered many of the males at her age before the pride fell apart... They had all hit the "girls have cooties" stage.
She rather liked the way the female saw her pride. "Yes, fragmented is a good way to look at things," she said with a nod. It gave her more hope than "dead" did.
"I'm sure all will go well," she said honestly, staring off to the northwest, where her old homelands lay.

Nadra Zuri stared at the female as she laughed and found it attractive, how ever, she kept this to herself, and just grinned in amusement. Her eyes focused as far as they could in the direction Isi was, she tried to imagine what those times where like, with the sound of a beat always being made... She sighed and figured it must have been a pleasant pride to belong too...
Looking back to Isi, she her smile shrank to a small grin, just big enough to express Nadra was content, ”Do you have any idea how much further you must travel before you reach your old pridelands?

She turned back to the red-eyed lioness. "Quite a way," she said. "I've gone pretty far, so it's a long trip back. I told myself I'd never go back when I first left there to escape with my life, but..." She looked at her paws, one of her claws were tapping, as they normally did without her thought. It was silent, though, muffled by dirt that absorbed the sound easily. "It's too interesting, I can't stay away. I had a future there, I was sure of it. My dream as a cub was to be the second-highest position, and I was well on my way to being one. It was that lion's duty to know all of the songs, why they're sung, and when. I know all of that, but I'm not sure how much of a pride there'll be when I get back." She said with a solemn nod.
"It shouldn't take me too awful long, though, I've been travelling at a pretty good clip," she added, getting back to the female's question.
