As many of you may or may not have heard, I would like to try for a fishing trophy in November. I heard through the grapevine that Septembers top fisher fished around 50 buckets a day. This sounded like a lot to me. So since it is the beginning of the month, I thought I'd keep track of how many buckets it would take to win a trophy. Here is what I came up with using the Port of Gambino as an example:
1. x Mr Snuggle x Fish Caught: 1703 Score: 26982
1703 / 18 fish per bucket = 94.61 buckets 94.61 buckets / 2 days = 47.31 buckets per day
As you can see the top fisher has fished over 47 buckets a day!!! So how much gold would it take to buy the bait and win? Lets calculate:
50 buckets/day * 30 days = 1500 buckets 60 F Bait (2*30) = 1,500g 90 D Bait (3*30) = 9,000g 1350 A Baits (1500-150) = 337,500g
337,500 A Bait Cost 9,000 D Bait Cost 1,500 F Bait Cost ------- 348,000 Total Bait Cost for 50 Buckets
348,000 Gold!!! ...and around 8 - 8.5 hour a day... However, the current tektek price on a gold trophy is around 800,000 - 5,000,000 depending on the trophy...

For the heck of it, I also calculated how much it would cost you to fish 55 or 60 buckets a day. Here are those calculations:
55 buckets/day * 30 days = 1650 buckets 60 F Bait (2*30) = 1,500g 90 D Bait (3*30) = 9,000g 1500 A Baits (1650-150) = 375,000g
375,000 A Bait Cost 9,000 D Bait Cost 1,500 F Bait Cost ------- 385,500 Total Bait Cost for 50 Buckets
60 buckets/day * 30 days = 1800 buckets 60 F Bait (2*30) = 1,500g 90 D Bait (3*30) = 9,000g 1650 A Baits (1800-150) = 412,500g
412,500 A Bait Cost 9,000 D Bait Cost 1,500 F Bait Cost ------- 423,000 Total Bait Cost for 50 Buckets

ohthatgurl this isn't even adding in the factor of geting cans and boots and tires...wow.....if i were u i'd be doing some serious bait begging........ GOOD LUCK I rarely get cans, boots, or tires. Of course, I am a firm believer in filtering. Filtering is especially important if your using D or A grade bait, otherwise, your going to lose money fishing. So far my average is 1 large and 2-3 medium fish per bucket. Sorry if I sound preachy, I don't mean to be... As far as bait begging, I'm starting to wonder if I could get by with using all D grade bait... ...I'll keep you all posted... BTW: Due to the serious amount of time it takes to fish that number of buckets per day (8 - 8.5 hrs/day), I may have to postpone it until Dec. or Jan. That's blizzard weather here, so its not like I'll have much to do here on the farm.

Sounds like a good plan! I'll root for you, Ausheteru!
As far as factoring in junk, you don't have to in Gambino - it is an easy filter. sweatdrop

Good luck, but if you want to know what it'll take for a bronze. That would be about 15 buckets a day. Also, I would recommend starting in Bass'ken. I say that for 2 reasons; 1. Bass'ken generally is a little easier to earn a bronze trophy in and 2. This month has been incredibly fast for Bass'ken, therefore next month should be either normal pace, or easier than usual. This pattern always happens and it should be average because this months speed has made up for last months sluggish speed. After all, last month all the Bass'ken trophy records were dubbed at all time lows. 103K got Gold... crying I don't exactly know Silver, but Bronze was made with 20K! crying
