Kale, who was usually a relaxed child, couldn't keep still. This car-ride was taking, in his own words, FOR-EV-ER! And as logic dictates the only way to truly enjoy a Saturday over at a friend's house was to wake up his dad at the crack of dawn, then force the sleep-deprived man to drive him over to his friend's house as soon as possible.
Note to self: Never agree on a early-morning Play Date ever again... Marshall thought bitterly, taking the exit onto a...surprisingly normal looking house. This did not look like the place he imagined the purple-haired and pierced Don living in.
"Is this their house!? Huh?! Is it!?" Kale asked, way too excited for 9 in the morning.

Don's blue VW Beetle was parked to one side of the driveway. The house looked like an average, white, suburban ranch. The blinds were open and slight movement could be seen behind the window. Seeing as it was a nice cool end of summer day the windows were open to allow the cool breeze to drift in.
The Tauros boy was sitting in front of the window awaiting his freinds arival. His bovine ears perked up as he saw their car pull into the drive way. The boy looked over to where Don was finishing up shoving some dishes in the dish washer from that mornings breakfast. The television was on and playing some saturday morning cartoons that Don had put on for Tanner. The boy was already dressed this time of his own accord. Although he was still quiet and not as boisterous as Kale it was obvious that he was excited about the visit.

"Yep, we're here." Marshall said, while really tired, happy to see his son so excited about some thing. It was good for him to have friends even at a young age. "Hey, now don't open the door yet until I stop the car!" Marshall scolded as they stopped the Jeep that clearly had never seen any thing besides sand-dusted roads.
Once the car was completely parked, Marshall held Kale's hand as they walked up to the door, Kale enthusiastically ringing the door bell, though he had to jump to reach it.

Tanners eyes locked onto the door. He was anxious for his freind to get in but he didn't have the courage to go and answer the door himself.
"Coming!" Don hollared from the kitchen as he wiped his hands with a dish rag and headed to the front door to let them in. "Morning." Don greeted them both as he opened the door and stood back to let them come in.
Tanner hopped off of the arm chair and made his way over to the door half way hiding behind Don.

"Hiya Tanner!" Kale said, completely ignoring the large man who actually answered the door and focusing all attention to his pudgy friend.
"Kale, don't be rude! Heh heh...Good morning, Don." Marshall said to the significantly taller man, happy to see another adult for one reason only: Where there are adults, there is coffee.
Kale looked over at the TV, his favorite show just starting: The Adventures of Amazing Man. "Oh! Cool! Ya wanna watch it with me?!" Kale asked Tanner excitedly.
"Kale, its his house now be a bit more polite!"

"It's ok." Don said with a laugh at Kale's obvious enthusiasm. "How's it going Marshall?" Don asked closing the door behind them when they entered the house.
"Okay." Tanner said quietly still behind Don's leg. Tanner reluctantly left the safety of Don's towering figure to follow his buddy to the TV in the middle of the room.

Kale cheerfully led the way to the TV, the annoying fast-tempo opening just starting. It was really just a montage of Amazing Man's great feats like breaking through a wall or swimming faster than a torpedo. Genuine shlock but from the ratings it was a pretty decent success.
"You ever watch The Adventures of Amazing Man? Its so cool!"
"Heh heh, doing good. Though today was interesting. Kale woke me up at the crack of dawn, completely dressed and ready to go. Guess he was really excited, huh?" Marshall laughed, taking off his hat as he looked around the surprisingly normal house.
Huh...And I was expecting some thing...Swanky.

Tanner shook his head. He didn't watch a whole lot of television, although Don definately made it avaliable to him, he would much rather spend time spending time or playing games with his father. The man never had any objections to Tanner when he wanted to be with him, to Don nothing was more important than his son. Tanner watched the dancing pictures on the tube not sure what to make of the show, it was strange, and different, but it was colorful.
"He definately does seem to be quite energetic." Don said with another laugh. "Can I get you anything? Something to eat, or drink?" He asked heading into the kitchen.

"Don't suppose you have any Coffee, do you?" Marshall asked hopefully, Kale being so energetic this morning that he didn't even have time to make himself his usual cup.
Kale sat next to Tanner on the carpet, awed by the colorful, though none too complex, show. This would probably the only time in his life where he would openly like some thing this painfully cheesy or stupid. Still, he was more happy about being able to watch it with some one who wasn't his Dad. He loved his dad but he asked way too many silly questions about the show. "Who is that guy", "Why is she doing that", "When did the doctor get there", after a while the young rodent grew tired of answering questions! Didn't his father know how important Amazing Man's job was?!

"No, I'm sorry, can't say I do. I never really had a need for the stuff, I have some soda though, or juice if you'd like." Don said, the man was indeed odd, coffe was something that was in almost every house hold, except for his supposedly.
Tanner's thumb found it's way into his mouth as the show progressed he became more and more absorbed into the bad voice acting and animation.

"You'll never get away with this, Dr. Devildoer!" shouted Amazing Man to his arch-nemesis, an equally flamboyantly dressed man who could only be called a "doctor" for the fact that he wore a lab-coat.
Kale watched as Amazing Man did his super-amazing thing and saved the universe yet again from...Well, whatever the generic threat was that week. Usually it was Dr. Devildoer stealing the World's Supply of blank, and it was Amazing Man's job to save that blank. About as well-written as the back of a cereal box but fascinating to a young child.
"No coffee?!" Marshall said, trying to hide his surprise (and failing miserably) "Erm, uh, sorry...Soda would be great, thank you." Marshall said, "Um, can I sit any where or...?" Marshall asked sheepishly. From what he believed it was customary for parents to sit and talk over a cup of some thing while they observed their children play.

Tanner was becoming just as engrossed into the poorly animated dribble on the television as his small freind. The show however may have been a little too much for the innocent boy. Once everyone thought that Amazing Man had beaten the villian the easily forshadowed event happened with the villian coming out of no where and attacking the hero from behind. Tanner jumped at the sudden turn in the show and half ducked behind Kale out of instincts.
Don laughed a bit at Marshalls distress. He grabbed a couple of cokes out of the fridge and headed back over to the other man. "Yeah sure, sit where ever you want." He said non chalantly and handed him the soda. "Want anything to eat?" He asked while he was still standing.

The tiny Azurill boy jumped, but it was mostly the fact his significantly bigger friend had just dived behind him. "Hee hee! Tanner, its okay! Amazing Man never loses!" Kale giggled, his friend obviously not knowing the amazing complexities of Amazing Man.
"Oh, no, no. I'm fine." Marshall said, happily accepting the coke as he took a seat, watching his son explain their painfully bad program to Tanner. He couldn't help but smile at the fact that the two of them were getting along so well.

Tanner sheepishly peeked back up from behind the boy who seemed possibly half his size. He glanced back at the television slowly sitting back up again not wanting Kale to think he was a baby. Kale was right, sure enough Amazing man pulled off some cheesey move and yet again the day was saved.
"So then, how long have you had Kale?" Don asked taking a seat across from Marshall and trying to strike up conversation.

"Hm, welp...I think we're coming in at just about four months." Marshall said, taking a sip of his soda, "He's been a handful but, y'know, can't really imagine life with out him any more." he said happily. It was a cheesy thought, but he honestly did love Kale to death. "So, what about you and Tanner?" Marshall asked, keeping the conversation going.
"And once again the world is safe for all creatures thanks to...AMAZING MAN!" screamed the TV set, Kale watching happily with his friend. "See, wasn't that cool!? Huh?! Huh?!" Kale asked enthusiastically with a broad smile.
