It's already started! So who likes watching conference and who goes to all the sessions? Here the youth had a fireside (I went even though I am not a "youth") It was about going to all the sessions of conference, taking notes, and re-re-re-reading the conference talks over and over when they are printed. It was great.
In conference, who is your fav speaker?

I used to love Elder Maxwell's talks. He almost always talked about the Savior and he was very poetic. I love Elder McConkie's talks. I wish I was a member when he was alive and well. President Hinckley has such a wonderful spirit and a great sense of humor. Elder Scott is so caring and he talks about issues that some others wouldn't touch. I remember when I was attending BYU, he gave an incredible talk on Saturday and the next day, some were picketing him at temple square. One of my instructors even put him down on Monday. I got into a debate with my instructor. I felt Elder Scott's statements were very appropriate and he definitely had the Spirit with him in my opinion. Of the newer Apostles, I think they're all great, but like most people, I really love Elder Bednar.
It is interesting to think of who will be the next member of the First Presidency. We (jokingly) have a pool going on who will be called. Right now, the top favorites in my opinion are:
1. Elder Packer 2. Elder Oakes 3. Elder Scott
Of course, we're not really betting. I think if Elder Maxwell was still alive and healthy, he'd be a lock for sure. But I know we'll get the right person. I think it will be Elder Packer.

Well, that shows you how much I know.
Elder Henry B. Eyring will be a great addition to the First Presidency! He's such a spiritual man and very bright.

I think all of them are great speakers. I love Elder Holland's talks. It could be because he visited my ward and signed a book he published that I own. blaugh

The prophet is so funny. However, after hearing that poem from Elder Costa (I think) about losing someone close to you and what you would do if you knew it was the last time you would see someone, it made me sad when President Hinckley said something to the efeect that he hopes he will be here for the next conference. I know he's said that kinda stuff before, but it still make me sad. I love our prophet so much! He's definitely one of my heroes.

He probably will be at the next conference, wither in spirit or in physical body.

I felt so bad watching Elder Wirthlin shaking while he was talking. I was like "Someone help him!" And then (sorry, I forget his name) someone went over and held him. He gave an awesome talk, eh?

snaksie The prophet is so funny. I don't like thinking about that. It depresses me. I got teary-eyed when he said that he hopes to be here in April. I also remember when he attended the Sacramento Temple celebration (which was awesome!! I was in the choir.) and said that he thought Sacramento might be his last temple. Well, he was wrong! ^-^ And that poem given by Elder Costa... I loved it. Here it is: If I knew this would be the last time I would watch you sleep, I would hug you tighter. I would plead with the Lord to protect you. If I knew this would be the last time I saw you walk out the door, I would hug and kiss you and call you back to hug and kiss you one more time.
If I knew this would be the last time I would hear your voice in prayer, I would record every gesture, every look, every smile, every one of your words, So that I could listen to it later, day after day.
If I knew this would be the last time, I would spend an extra minute or two to tell you, "I love you," instead of assuming you already knew it.
If I knew this would be our last time, our last moment, I would be by your side, spending the day with you instead of thinking, "Well, I'm sure other opportunities will come, so I can let this day go by."
Of course there will be a day to revise things, And we would have a second chance to do things right. Oh, of course there will be another day for us to say, "I love you." And certainly there will be another chance to tell each other, "Can I help with anything?" But in my case, there isn't one! I don't have you here with me, and today is the last day we have—our farewell. Therefore I would like to say how much I love you, And I hope you never forget it.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old. Today might be your last chance to hold tight to the hand of the one you love and show all you feel.
If you are waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? Because if tomorrow never comes, you certainly will regret for the rest of your life
Not having spent some extra time for a smile, a conversation, a hug, a kiss, Because you were too busy to give that person what ended up being their last wish.
Then hug tight today the one you love, your friends, your family, and whisper in their ears how much you love them and want them close to you. Use your time to say, "I'm sorry," "Please," "Forgive me," "Thank you," Or even, "That was nothing," "It's all right,"
Because if tomorrow never comes, you will not have to regret today. The past doesn't come back, and the future might not come!http://www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,49-1-775-26,00.html cry That makes me cry. I love the poem though. But how true it is! None are promised tomorrow's sunrise, no one. This was one great Conference, no?
