The sea was calm, almost beautiful under the glow of the moon. The waves softly lapping against the shorline and occasionally tiding around his hooves before being sucked back into the vast ocean. The smell of salt and rain swept over his body, inhaling deep as the breeze brushed by gently. Off in the near distance the black clouds of a storm could be seen, soon this place of serenity would become vicious and voilent.

Not like that mattered to the stallion anyways.

Ruby optics alit in the light closed for a moment, his ivory and teal tail flicking softly. The dark stallion gave a snort, knowing a few females who'd love to come here and see the sights; mainly his sister and Isis. They seemed to have a nack for the prettier things in life, scenery being on the top of that list.

Yet on this night he wasn't as peaceful as he should have been, his mind wandering a hundred miles a minute. His father, Ezriel....and Marius. Damn that brother of his. He'd seen him, swooning those mares with his politeness and spinelessness. Huffing softly, mares were undoubtedly crazy to fall for that act....his brother must have had some plan....and as Zevach's mind wandered; he irrationally imagined a horde of little neices and nephews all smart mouthing him and attacking him when he wasn't looking! A disgusted frown settled on his face; that b*****d! That must have been exactly what was going on.

Snorting softly, he shook his head and treaded down the beach slowly...he had to combat this plan....perhaps crippling his brother would be the best bet? What mare would want that? Then again....Father and Mother wouldn't be pleased with him if he did that. He'd have to get down to it, probably it would wind down that he'd bluntly ask what the hell Marius was up to, to his face.

Moonlight on water was always a beautiful sight, spreading like a pathway off to meet the horizon. Once, on a whim, Amary had tried to follow that path, walking the trail of light as far as she could before fatigue finally forced her to turn back. In one sense, it had been a fruitless exercise; in another, it had been an adventure into the unknown...and that was always exciting.

As she walked along the sandy shore, Amary looked out over the water, following the trail of moonlight with an amused and knowing smile. How long had it been since she'd tried walking it? A long time, considering that the attempt had been almost as soon as she was able to fly. Then, her wings had struggled to keep her going as long as she had; these days, her beautifully colored wings could support her in flight for hours on end. Yes, it was good to be alive and to be grown.

Good indeed, she thought, as a trace of movement down the beach caught her attention. A Soquili...a stallion, even! How very exciting, to meet another by the light of the moon! That had to be a positive sign, if she did say so herself.

That in mind, she smiled slightly to herself, then straightened up and called down the beach to the walking stranger. "Isolation on your mind, or are you up for some company?"

Snapping his head around as the voice had in all honest startled the stallion, the hairs along his back rose up as ruby orbs narrowed to the form....which happened to be a mare. Then again, this was no shock, it seemed the land was filled with mares as of late; only having seen two stallions as of late. Not that he minded, stallions often pressed his buttons like his brother. A calm night rather than brawling might be a welcome change.

...then again, he always had to watch out for Ezriel, who knew when his trainer would ambush him to make sure his guard was up. Settling his nerves, he huffed at the mare; stopping in his trail to allow her to catch up.

"Its a free beach, you can do whatever you like." Yet he supposed that didn't answer her question, now did it? Glancing up the shore, and then down, the likelihood she wasn't talking to him was slim to none. Contemplating for a moment, he flicked his tail and began to walk again; yet at an inviting, much slower pace. "You're welcome to, if you must." Typical response from the stallion, he'd never ever let anyone know he wanted the company....yet could only hope whomever he was talking to was smart enough to see through that. Too much pride, was all.

Even though he was a hardass, he wasn't blind; and could easily see the beauty this mare posessed. The moon nearly set her magenta coat aglow, the violet hues at the tops of her wings looking near etheral in this setting. Another wind soquili, much like Isis.....what he'd do to not be normal like he was. Imagine if he had wings, and spikes like Ezriel! He'd be a force to be recogned with, thats for sure.

Oh, right....the talking.

Glancing towards the mare, he cocked his head to the side, he didn't feel as edgy and confrontational as he used to....and other than his abrupt and near uncaring tone...he felt no need to stand off to the mare unless she gave invitation to. "The name's Zevach. What brings you out to the beaches at this time of night...or is it a regular spot for you?" This was his second time to the spot, so he had little to no clue who regulared the beaches.

Not the most inviting of greetings, to be sure, but hardly the most uninviting at that. Besides, Amary had never let something as mild as a little bit of perceived annoyance stop her from being sociable when the mood took her, and right now?

She'd take that as an open invitation.

Tossing her mane back, she smiled and trotted up to the stallion, taking advantage of his slowed pace to put herself at a comfortable distance beside him. Companionship was always pleasant; it was a rare occurance for Amary to prefer her own thoughts to bantering with another. Especially when that other was as attractive as this stallion, with his swirling coat and pronounced muscles. But enough of that...for now.

Glancing sideways, the magenta mare responded to the teal stallion's somewhat brusque greeting with an amused smile. "The name, huh? From the way you'd talk, one would suspect that 'Zevach' was the only name in existance; while I grant that's it's a nice name, I think that things would be confusing if we were all named Zevach, don't you think?" Laughing, Amary flicked her head to the side, then airly ran her wingtip through her mane before continuing, "Luckily we've all got different names, 'Amary' in my case. And I suppose you could say I'm wandering, nothing fancier than that. But what about you?"

She'd been to beaches before, but whether or not this was one of them she couldn't say. Besides, what did it matter whether or not one was a rover or a regular? They were both here now, and that was enjoyable. Even if she WAS rather far from home, she knew that she'd be back in that neck of the woods before long; wind's blessing and all that.

Raising a brow as he seemed a little stunned, he wasn't expecting this mare to have a quick tongue on her. None the less, a bemused smile crept onto his lips as he closed his eyes with a small chuckle; he'd have to watch himself around this one. "True enough." He commented, his voice deep yet held a more lighter tone than when he'd first spoken. Usually his temperment with females varied...most of the time he'd end up fumbling with his words when he got flustered, yet he'd try damn hard not to get that way this time.

"Although I think you'd make a horrible Zevach. Too nice, and not enough gruff to you." He grinned, tossing his own mane back out of habit, much like a yawn when he noticed another do so. "Amary....not bad. It suites you." He nodded in confirmation, not like she needed to be confirmed of her own name.

"I'm supposed to be training...." He commented, letting his mind wander faintly. "You could say I was taking a little break, there's only so much you can do untill it gets a bit tedious for one day." Although never letting his guard down...no, that would be exactly when Ezriel struck. He doubted the mutant had nothing better to do than follow him around at all hours....yet with his luck lately, he'd stop by the moment he was slacking off, or like when he caught him brawling with his brother and couldn't think of anything other than pulling his hair. Now that was embarassing.

"I doubt a night off would do much harm....what do you usually do on nights like these?" He inquired, glancing to his side, and to her; trying not to let his eyes wander too much along her pelt.

Though she wasn't looking directly at Zevach, Amary was watching enough to see the flickering traces of surprise and amusement dart one after the other across his face. So he wasn't expecting that, eh? Well, that was good; if there was one thing she enjoyed, it was keeping the boys on their toes. Among other things.

That in mind, she was able to fire right back at the stallion without missing a bit. "Yes, 'Zevach' brings to mind a more burly and robust form than I'm in possession of, to say nothing of a pronounced tuft of masculinity, none of which I have. Not that I mind, of course; being little and dainty and feminine has suited me this long, and I don't feel like changing." If she did say so herself.

Strolling along at his side, she deftly raised up her wings to rest behind her head, the embodiment of casual interest as she listened to the stallion's words. Training, huh? "So are you a fighter, then? I suppose that explains the muscles." Grinning impishly, she reached out to touch one wing against Zevach's flank, then lightly ran it along the muscles of his shoulder. "Most impressive dedication to your art though, that you've built yourself up this much."

And she did mean it; a devotee to one art form could easily admire that same devotion in another, regardless of the goal of either. Personally she HATED fighting; it was the result of anger and negative emotions, and she hated seeing them in others or experiencing them herself. Besides, too much fighting was TERRIBLE for the body, what with the bruising and scarring and whatnot. Zevach seemed to be escaping that for now, but eventually it was bound to catch up with him; a pity, because he was quite handsome.

Which made his query about her all the more amusing. Giving him a coy look, she laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "As for me, that depends on the company; I'm sure that you can understand that different companions inspire different pastimes."

Feminine and dainty....wasn't that the truth.

No, he wouldn't let her change it either, he wasn't all manly manly, and like she had an appreciation (albeit silent one) to the finer things in life. Feminine beauty was one of them, although he rarely acted or aknowledged out loud to any extent. He recalled Isis telling him of her wings, and how even though she enjoyed them the red tips to her wings she felt were a bit out of place on her overall blue, gold and ebony pallet. Amary on the contrary blended perfectly with each hue that graced her pelt, it was a fascinating notion; as he became curious to which traits belonged to which of her parents.

"You shouldn't. It would be unbecoming to see a man with your looks." Came the closest thing to a compliment Zevach was capable of; at least for the time being. He didn't mind being on his toes, although for some soquili he couldn't stand it; he didn't mind dancing for a few.

However, when the soft feathers trailed along his shoulder blade and flank, he gave an involuntary shudder; damnit, he'd never get used to that simple...but highly temptuous motion. "Ah....thanks...." He muttered, losing his concentration momentarily before snapping himself out of it; now was definately not the time to get flustered. Stupid girls....he swore they all must have had some voodoo magic over males from the day they turned into mares. Perhaps it was like a gained power for passing the threshold of adulthood?

Pausing in step, he used his demi-long tail to flick her side (despite trying to make it look unintentional) before giving the mare a 'well no duh' look. "I do....yet given the circumstance that its just you and I; and I have no intrest in what you do with other company....what would you be interested in doing with a companion such as myself? For I doubt sparring would be in your intrests." He mused, cocking his head slightly to the side in question.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 01, 2007 2:20 pm

The very idea of a male having her looks made Amary grin; in one way, there actually was such a male, her father. After all, she had his mask and his wings and his curls, though her coat was a lovely red-violet rather than straight red, her body lithe and graceful where her father's was bigger and far more strong. But really, when you came down to the details they were a lot alike...so she couldn't be quite as skeptical. Then again, she was very much her mother's daughter as well and had her own attitude, unique from her father's.

Consequently, she was a bit careful in picking her words as she replied, giving Zevach a grin as she did so to let him know that she wasn't saying everything. "Well, I think that a stallion would have to work a lot harder to pull off my look, I'll grant you that; but I don't think in general it would be as silly as you might think. You'd be surprised what the world holds if you start to really look at people."

Like, her looking at Zevach right now. Her wing still lightly touching his side, she could feel the shudder that ran through him at her touch and see the brief forced closing of his eyes. That sight made her smile; it was nice to know that even fighters could still react to proper stimulae. And even give it back, if the touch of his tail was any indication.

"Mmm..." Making an appreciative sound in her throat, Amary closed her eyes for a moment as though mulling over his question. "What would I want to do with a companion like you. What would I want to do..." Prentending indecision, Amary allowed herself to lean sideways slightly, her body lightly touching against his side as she shifted towards him, bringing one wingtip to tap thoughtfully against her lips. "What indeed...though I have to agree on the sparring. I'd be so terrible at that, you'd beat me with one strike! And then I'd be hurt and sore and pouty, rendering me completely useless as company, and then you might plausibly feel guilty completely ruining YOUR night...it would be dreadful."

Sighing, Amary shook her head at the idea, then turned and gave Zevach a sensual smile. "Though if it's something physical you're into, I think that I could come up with something." As she spoke, Amary flicked her own tail against Zevach's flank, shifting again as she once again began to trace along the muscles of his shoulders with her wing. "Assuming you're interested, of course..."

"Oh, I think I know it'd be silly. Can't say I really associate with the feminine stallions too much." Actually, not at all, but who was counting? He'd caughten onto that grin, and just like he assumed she was aiming for he'd become more curious to the devious nature of this coy mare. Sure, the other mare's he'd met with a tongue like hers ended up with a multitude of other traits.....sharp but kind, sharp and mischevious.....but Amary.....well, she was just sharp and mysterious, near the point where his instinct was telling him she was dangerous to his mental well being.

Which prooved that one should indefinately always trust their intuition.

Stiffening immediately as the warmth from her body brushed against his own, his muscles tensed as he looked partially down to her. Oh, every move she made was precise and intentional he was certian...Amary didn't seem the type to be naive and innocent with her actions. Like he, nearly everything was calculated down to be precise.

"I...." He stammered slightly, clearing his throat before quickly trying again. "I wouldn't strike a mare unless she was asking for it, it isn't ethical in my eyes." He blinked, things were going downhill for the stallion all right, his compseur slipping with each touch and smile the mare shot in his direction.

It was all true. All mares were devious witches able to render stallions useless with their voodoo magic...and Zevach was falling for it.

Biting his lip as he willed, no, pleaded his muscles not to spasm under her tough, it prooved effortless as he once again gave a shudder. At her words, the young stallion seemed a bit confused....did she not just speak quite clearly that she did not like physical comba- oh. OH. Oh christ. That physical. Seriously? Was she serious, or was this all some predevised scheme to make him look incredibly stupid and moronic? He didn't quite know how he felt about such a request, it that was indeed what she was pertaining. God damn, why were mares so confusing!?

Instead, he decided to try his best to place on a speculative look as he raised a brow in uncertianty. "You're serious? Suggesting....that?" He blinked, for once in his life completely taken back, Marius would have a hay day if he was here to witness this....for once Zevach couldn't think of anything to retort with whatsoever.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 01, 2007 3:39 pm

"Me either; I prefer the stallions I keep time with to be nice and truly masculine." Amary had let her voice drop slightly, the perky and bubbly tones of the earlier part of their conversation replaced by a tone that was lower, huskier, and much more suggestive. The impression thus presented was no doubt aided by the fact she continued to trace light circles along Zevach's shoulders, amused, delighted, and interested at how very hard he was trying to resist reacting to her touches...but didn't pull away.

However, in spite of her lowered voice and the touches that gradually became bolder, she was still listening to Zevach, taking note of his words even while she tested his reactions. It was nice of him to not beat on mares, really; they were naturally daintier, after all, and a male could do a lot of damage if he tried. "How very noble of you; after all, mares are delicate. We need to be treated with care...affection...tenderness." As she spoke, Amary began to walk around Zevach, trailing her wingtips up to caress the stallion up along the chin and jaw, then around to the other side as she continued with her slow circle.

A cirlce that she stopped at Zevach's broken question. He couldn't even say it, how cute! Laughing, she backtracked a bit, bringing her muzzle up to delicately nuzzle at his neck as she clarified. "If by 'that' you mean see how much passion we can create between the two of us, then that's exactly what I'm suggesting. After all, the night is young, the atmosphere delightful, and here we are, a young mare and stallion in our primes."

Smiling, Amary drew her head back slightly, giving the stallion a meaningful smile as she breathed her words against his ear. "Of course, that's only if you're interested...but if any worry about me is clouding your mind, then don't bother. I'm very interested, Zevach, very interested indeed." Gotta love the direct approach; if nothing else, it was good at taking stallions off guard.

Oh god, oh god.

When in the hell blazing names was he going to do??

To resort to the tride and true method of telling her off and storming off in a fit of fluster and swear words....or maybe hear her out. Curiosity often got the better of the stallion, and no was no different than every other time. Affection, tenderness....he'd had no experience in that sort of treatment from no one other than his sister and mother. Yet those never counted, they never did. Instead he found himself fixated on the mare before him while an odd rythm overtook his heart as it pounded in his ears.

His skin once more twitched in a silent chorus of delight, while the stallion let out a shuddering sigh while her face edged up to his neck. He'd never, every felt this way before....all the while being consumed with anger, cockiness and of course irritability. Girls had just, well, never been a part of the agenda. Was it possible he could still become a great warrior - and have someone at his side? Amary had said herself she did not light fighting, but maybe she would see that he would do so only when provoked! He began to like this idea more and more as his confusing began to fade; only bringing forth a bit of a smirk in its wake.

"Passion....tenderness...." He breathed back, seeing their proximity he took a step foreward to connect their torso's to one another while his foreleg rubbed against her own. "Is that what you really desire from a warm summer's eve?" Leanding her head down he nibbled at her neck, and moving down a tad bit further, the top of her wings.

"Or maybe....you prefferr things a bit more....wild?" His smirk deepend, ruby orbs glittering in a newfound mischeif. Perhaps....it was alright to let go; once and a while around mares.

When propositioning a stallion, there were numerous end results that could potentially crop up. Indignation, anger, disbelief, embarassment...none of them were unheard of for the mare about town. Upon reaching adulthood, she'd had a long talk with her mother about what it was like to spend a lot of time with stallions, and Luca had been very frank in explaining the pitfalls to her daughter. Armed with this knowledge, Amary had nevertheless dove into the adult world with unrivaled optimism, willing to take the bad as long as she got the good eventually.

However, that didn't mean she didn't prefer the good. In this case, Zevach seemed like he could have gone either way; on one hand, he was reacting to her, but on the other, he was trying to fight it. Some stallions had weird ideas, after all; that passion was only for lifemates, for example. He might have been one of those, or, even worse, a celibate (wannabe celibate?).

That made his sudden and at least somewhat unexpected acqueisence all much the more delightful, leaving her literally laughing with delight at both the physical contact and the very intriguing words. Spreading her wings and lifting them up to envelope Zevach's head and shoulders, Amary looked up and back at the stallion with an excited glint her eyes to match his own, her voice 'innocent' as she replied. "Well...I'm open to suggestion..." Drawling slightly over the syllables, Amary stepped away from Zevach, dragging her wings up and through his mane as she did so. Pausing a couple steps away, she looked coyly back over her shoulder to give the stallion a very intense and heated look. "So, got any 'suggestions' for me, Zevach?"

"Oooh..." Zevach had become quite good as playing around with his vocals, as he puured out in an almost feline mannor. Usually he had Soquili pressing all the worng buttons, so it was a definate and most welcome change for someone to get it right for once. Ears perked and attentive as his tail flicked back and forth, he couldn't remember the last time that he had been the one to be the curious and more submissive of, well, anyone! Usually his personality tended to overpower, yet with Amary....it was different. He didn't mind taking a back seat approach....quite easily seduced by her mannorisms and sweet, alluring voice.

Bathing in the sensation of the touch her wings gave him, he found the notion to only draw his attention completely to the mare before him; staring into her grey orbs. Was this why Marius gained all of the attention from the mares, since he was quieter; and thus the mare's spells were more easily potent? No....his brother was too aloof for that, so how was it the mares came to him?

Shaking his head of the thought, before he knew it Amary had turned and strode a few steps away...yet not before beconing him as his eyes shut to revel in the feeling of his hair being flipped over itself before falling back around his face. This strange feeling wouldn't stop tugging at his chest, no doubt he was attracted to this mare....yet he did find it strange in how much in such a short time; a very short time.

Yet instinct pushed back those thoughts just as quickly, eagerly following the mare like a puppy. Trotting up beside her, as he ducked his head to push himself under one of her wings his head acted like a snake as he rubbed his chin up along her back; nibbling at her shoulder before pushing his face into her hair....fresh....like the scent of the skies. Rumbling in his throat, Zevach had never been too well with words like Marius was....instead his only hope was to let his bolder actions speak where he could not.

Nibbling at the magenta mare's ears, he dropped his own voice to a husky whisper, "Perhaps we can discuss it in the thickets?" He pushed against her slightly to change her direction moreso towards the forest rather than the meadow. He'd fallen for it, for everything....hook line and sinker.

Oh yes, it had been a smart idea to scope out the beach tonight. Making an appreciative noise herself at his ministrations, Amary merely gave him a smile, then allowed herself to be directed by the stallion off towards the trees...

~~~
"So, what made you decide to be a fighter, anyway?" Some time later, Amary lay comfortably ensconced in the sand, her body cushioned against Zevach's side and her muzzle idly nosing at his braids. Now that the physical had been handled (most admirably, in her opinion), she could relax and spend time actually getting to know this tall, strong, and mysterious stallion she'd found; he was a fighter, so that seemed like a good place to start. "Do you come from a line of fighters?"
Laying and resting never had felt so fantastic for the stallion; exausted by their erlier 'activities'. The skies began to change into a cobalt blue, flowly heading into a teal sort of hue closer to the sea where the sun was expecting to rise. He'd curled his body around her, while she lay into him...there was no chills for either equine tonight; as they basked in the warmth of one another's company.
Hell, he'd never felt like this before.
Using his nose he brushed it softly onder her jawline, tracing from her chin to the depths of her sweet smelling locks. All anger and unfamilliar hostility he'd ever shown her had been washed away like the tide, particularily smitten with this magenta mare. An actual smile had been glued to his lips while his soft breathing calmed him even more; if possible. Flicking his tail so it curled a bit more around her hips, he stared out into the ocean from their spot on the grassy hill.
"I'm not sure....partial genes. My father was a bit of a nomad, he'd seen the world when he was a foal; protector of the innocent, he told me. I don't think he's seen much conflict...but many are greatful for his peaceful ways." Zevach admitted, brushing those same locks back into their perfect place. "I suppose I wanted to be that, someone people could look up to and rely on, yet i'm going a step father...i'm getting trained, so I can protect the ones I need to without a doubt in my mind about my capabilities. To that and my easy acceptance of violence is a key in some instances to protect others...that he's become dissapointed in me. Training takes up time..so I don't see my family as much and that disspoints them." He sighed partially, but offered a half smile. "I suppose in the long run, they'll finally understand. I'm not worried though, i've always been rather independant." Smirking with confidence she nudged her, casting a glance to the distant ocean horizon.
"Looks like we'll catch the sunrise, this morning Amary."
