 Nezumi lay in a small, grassy meadow near a cheerful little stream. She was on her back, with her paws curled delicately above her chest. Somehow, she managed to make the pose look almost dainty.
As she lay there, Nezumi was watching the clouds drift by, imagining shapes and sometimes entire stories in the clouds. She was a dreamer, and if she couldn't have adventure and excitement in her life, at least she could have it in her mind. She could lay for hours at a time, watching the clouds and the birds and dreaming entire lifetimes.
However, this particular day, that was not to be. After only a short while, she was startled out of her dreaming by a large, winged shape that was definitely not a bird flying overhead. If she didn't know better, she could have almost said it was a Kylandrei, but Kylandrei didn't have wings... right?
"What on earth..."

 Sebastian landed yards away at the other side of the stream. His large wings folded on his back while his smaller ones kept flapping slowly a couple of times before nestling under his larger ones. His blue eyes close as he lowered his head and started to drink.
His ears kept alert as he drank from the stream, thought he had yet to notice the other Kylandrei nearby, had he, he wouldn't had landed so nearby.

Nezumi still wasn't sure what the strange, winged thing was, but she sure planned to find out! Creeping slowly and silently, she moved towards where whatever-it-was had landed, being extra careful not to make any noise in case it was hostile. This was the most excitement she'd had in her (admittedly, short) life!
As she reached the edge of a small stream, she heard the sound of something drinking. Ever so carefully, she peeked between some bushes to see what it was, and if it might be her mystery winged creature.

Sebastian suddenly rose his head up, he looked around with indescribably blue eyes. Wings slightly open a bit as he stepped towards an more open area, sensing someone near. His scarlet and golden pelt starting to stand to the end.

Nezumi stood up slowly, seeing that, even if he (yes, it was a Kylan after all, and he was certainly male!) could not see her, he could sense her. Her survival instincts told her that hiding might not be the best thing to do, so she decided to show herself. This decision was entirely subconscious, however. The only thoughts in her mind were It's a winged Kylan. Wings! Huge! With feathers, and everything. Absolutely gorgeous wings.
She had often dreamed of flight, but here was a Kylan who didn't have to dream it, he could do it!

Sebastian turned about, spreading four wings wide and lowering his head, letting out defensive hiss before he stop, suddenly realizing what was in front of him. Another Kylan, and by scent, a female one.
He gave a nervous chuckle quietly and took another step back before clearing his throat. "I am sorry about....." He mumbled embarrassed, trying his best to not just take off as fast as his feet and wings could take him.

Hearing the strange Kylan's voice snapped Nezumi out of the awed trance she had fallen into when she first saw his wings. She could easily read from his body language how nervous he was, and the internal struggle not to bolt. Right into the sky, she thought wistfully.
"No, I'm sorry. I should not have surprised you like that. It's just, well," she wasn't sure how to put it delicately, and so decided just to say it. "WhenIsawyouflypastIdidn'tknowwhatyouwere..." She paused for breath, slowing down a little. "I was curious, but I didn't know if you were something that might eat me or something... and that's why I sneaked. I didn't know winged Kylan even existed.

Folding his wings on his back once again, he gave the female a blank stare. Fast talker, wasn't she. He barely made out the first part of her reason before he manage to offer a smile. "I...I can understand....."
His head tilted slightly, thinking. "I can understand that as well....I have wings and barely have met any others with wings...."

She smiled, glad that the winged Kylan seemed to be calming down. Or at least not be about to flee any more.
"I'm sorry if I was rude. I actually don't see other Kylan at all, much. I have this area all to myself, and not many travel through here. So I don't get much practice. I tend to be a bit blunt, I know. My name is Nezumi, what's your's?"
She tilted her head to the side quizzically.

He still kept a good distance between them. "Ah...I wander a lot...I don't have a permanent home yet." His head tilted when she introduce herself. "Oh...how rude of me..." He bowed his head deeply. "I am Sebastian"

Seeing that he was still a bit nervous, Nezumi made no move to get closer to Sebastian. He was the most excitement she'd seen, well, ever, and she really hoped he'd stick around for a while. He must have some wonderful stories of far off places.
"I'd wander too, if I could fly. You must have seen all sorts of wonderful places." She knew that getting people to talk about themselves was supposed to be one of the best ways to make them feel more comfortable, she hoped that was true here. Plus, she was genuinely interested.

Sebastian looked away from her and towards the stream, looking as he was thinking. "Indeed...I have seen wonderful places..and sights.....but traveling also makes you see the horrible part of the world...." He murmur softly as he looked back at her. "You seem rather interesting in flying....I am sorry I am not strong enough to lift you into the air...."

Nezumi was taken aback. She had not thought that, along with all the beauty and wonder, there might be ugliness and horror.
"Oh! That's all right! I appreciate the thought, and it would have been wonderful, but I hadn't even thought of that. I often dream of flying..." She trailed off, looking up at a cloud that, at the moment, reminded her a great deal or the winged Kylan standing near her.
