You might be asking yourself whether a fan is an actual weapon, I have a simple answer. Yes. Anything, can be considered a weapon, it is how you weild it that makes the difference. One can make a sturdy shield out of paper, and have it just as good as a heavy Tower Shield.
This is just the fundamentals of Weapons training. I will show you how to weild your weapons, how to use them, how not to use them, as well as gain the respect that comes with them.
Choose your weapon, don't dilly dally, the more time you waste, the less time you will have to learn. Stand strait and tall. Be prepared for hurting soon, and we will begin shortly.

Please tell me what weapon you will weild for this training, since I myself choose no particular weapon, I use what is at hand. Keep strait, I hate when students have bad posture.

I, myself, am partial to the staves and throwing weapons. Those are the ones I would most like to learn. But I would also enjoy learning the others as well. Whitchever comes first. I am nought but a novice to these arts. I am also in the other training field. The name of it escapes me, but I think it has something to do with open hand combat.
((Sorry. I enjoy being proper. It makes me feel kindof royal. xd ))

The fan would be a lot of fun... ((I saw a woman using them in her kata in a tournament Saturday. It looked so cool!))

Being well rounded in weapons myself, I can easily teach them to you, and how you should use them. Staves are a weapon that can be used both long range and short range, depending on where your enemy is. It is an attacking weapon as well as guarding, being versitile like this means you have a better chance of taking out an opponent.
The fan is more of a guard than anything else, though if made a certain way, or weilded, it can be an affective weapon. As a guard, it is a 'throwing', where you will use it to your advantage of the other persons distance, trap their weapon into a fold, and throw the weapon aside. You keep the fan. This is very hard to train yourself in, but it can easily become one of your greatest allies.

Imperial walked into the room. Looking around he spyed the instructor. He raised his hand and said, quietly, "I would like to learn how to use a sword, please."

"Good good, Staves are useful for those who are beginning, fans are much more... deliquit in the ways of a fight," Looking over her shoulder, K-ller spyed the new student, "Ahh, welcome. The sword, eh? There are many different types of swords, flowing into thousands of different styles. Please, choose one sword, and then we can start the process from there."

No no, I completely understand, swords are basically the largest group of weapons out there, it would be easier to name all the different weapon groups than name all the swords.
